The 12 - 6 elbow rule, while definitely stupid, is not rarely enforced. Its pretty rigorously enforced, actually. That's why fighters use a sort of side-slap elbow instead

being able to use your body and hips to add more force to the elbow vs a straight downward elbow which one is gonna hurt more

That “No talking rule” enforced during Robbie “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler’s fight with Nick Diaz.
The foot stuck in the cage thing is rare, but it does happen. I watched an amateur defend a takedown only to have his knee popped by it. His opponent actually backed off of him and called the ref and coaches over to help him. The ruling was a TKO and the crowd lost its mind they were so pissed.
The guy that got his knee popped was awarded the tko win when his opponent backed off? Don't stop fighting till the ref tells you to i guess

When I hear about replay rule I think back to when Weidman played himself after mousasi hit him with what appeared to be an illegal knee. Chris said he couldn't continue the ref then watched the replay, told Chris it was legal and called the fight a tko for mousasi.
Honestly, even though the 12-6 elbows is a dumb rule, it's still an illegal technique. Regardless of whether the consensus is that it's a dumb rule, it's not like a fighter should be awarded a win for kicking a grounded opponent in the face because fans and fighters think that disallowing kicks to a grounded opponent is a dumb rule and PRIDE NEVER DIE.

I feel like 12-6 elbows on a grounded opponent is far more dangerous than ground and pound already is given you can generate the same force as an elbow but with much less contact area, basically a lot more unnecessary injuries

What most people forget about that Jon Jones loss (and makes it even worse) that Mazagati asked a deaf fighter if he can continue..to which he cannot hear Mazagati asking this, and stopped the fight due to no response! Adding another level of incompetence that we already knew about to an even worse ending.
So in Illinois, crotch shots are essentially legal, as long as you do it hard enough to down the opponent for over 5 minutes. That rule is absolutely batshit.

Because you can't really make a decision while they're actively fighting. So you have to temporarily stop the action to do the replay.

The main reason why is because a lot of people make the claim “oh but he can lip read” which is just as stupid because as seen he had blood on his face which probably made it hard to see and he was just blasted by nasty elbows.

As an asthmatic I have to say that the use of Corticosteroids mid fight is insane, back when I was younger I used a spray inhaler with those, instantly after use the pain numbs and the lungs open while you get a considerable surge of strength
Well if us asthmatic people can't use what helps us out with a medical condition I don't see why fighters can go out there with their legs wrapped cuz that is giving them an advantage so there leg won't hurt as much. At least thats how I see it. Or some fighter have people help them stretch out in the middle of rounds.

I mean the fighter is asthmatic (they mentioned it someplace during his segment) but using before and after is fine, in the middle? No the advantages he gains instantly are just too big to forget about

No he has 12 to 6 elbows. Including all the numbers below 6 and above 12.
He does not have 7, 8, 9, 10 or 11 elbows, it's 12 to 6.

I don’t really see the problem with suspending fighters for missing weight, I agree with Izzy when he said 90% of the purse should be taken
I think it depends on what you miss weight by and the fighters history missing weight by 1 pound a single time isn’t a big deal but missing weight by 5-10 pounds every other fight is a problem there should probably be a scale maybe 10% purse per LB missed by or possibly multiplied by times missed
90% of your purse getting taken is very harsh if you miss weight by say a half pound or something like that. It’s literally their livelihood. If you’re 10 pounds over and don’t even attempt the weigh in then sure take 90% of that guys purse, but 90% is very drastic
90% is good. It'll have people fight at their true weights. You'll see a whole different kind of fight.
