  • Hello hello! I'm glad you're here today😊
I'm so excited (and I say so about a million times in this six minute video 😂) - I booked my hike on the West Highland Way!
I've been pretty run down and exhausted this week though so the walks I've had have definitely been walks and not hikes - ie they were short! Check out my favourite one on the South West Coast Path earlier this week (Falmouth inspiration incoming) and some of the very summery looking countryside on a walk near home today.
It can be so hard to drag yourself out when you're feeling rough can't it, but looking back at some of these clips I can see it's worth the effort, even if you don't have the energy to go far. I hope you enjoy them too.
So, what have you been up to? Have you managed to get out and about? Let me know in the comments.
I'll be back on Sunday with the next in the series of The Tamara Coast To Coast Way videos, until then enjoy the rest of the week!
Take good care and happy hiking
    Stephie x

Are you new here? Yes? Then hello and welcome to my hiking channel!
I'm Stephie and I'm new here too. I share regular hiking vlogs (Wednesdays) and hiking videos (Sundays) to inspire you and help you get outside and enjoy the UK on foot. I usually hike solo, including backpacking and wild camping, and I'm based in Cornwall in the far south west of the UK. When I'm not off exploring the UK with my home on my back I'm usually on the South West Coast Path somewhere in Cornwall (I know it really well, so if you're planning a hike on the South West Coast Path let me know!)
I'd love to get to know you so please subscribe and hit the notifications bell so you don't miss the next video. Thanks for watching 😊
Take care and see you next time.
    Stephie x

Its a beautiful part of the world. What sort of places do you enjoy hiking?

That looked an excellent spot to just chill out and enjoy the sunshine!
I've found that trying to push on through when I'm feeling burned out is really not a good thing to do. So now I recognise the warning signs, and just give in and take some 'down time' as it were, and let it run its course.
The cost of rail travel these days is just crazy, and it'd take all day to get to Glasgow by rail whereas on the plane it's so much quicker. Mind you, a long train journey can be relaxing, I'll give the railway that!
The West Highland Way is going to be a great adventure, and Pembrokeshire is a bit good too! Plenty to look forward to then!
Great stuff, looking forward to the Tamara video on Sunday 👍
Take care, have fun (and today at least - stay dry 🤣)

I'm so sorry Mick, I was sure I'd replied. I know what you mean about taking down time, unfortunately it wasn't an option in this particular case, but as soon as I did have an opportunity to stop I slept for days!
I hope you've enjoyed the weekend? Bit blimmin wet though innit!

      @@stephie_10milehike Ah don't worry - I don't expect replies to my witterings!
That was a bummer about not having the option to take some time out, but it looks like you made up for it, and needed it too!
Oh it's flipping miserable out right now isn't it 🤣 I still got a ride in this morning though, and thoroughly enjoyed it too.
Hope you're getting out and about as well, take care, have fun! 👍

    Exciting times ahead!
You can fly from Newquay to Edinburgh midweek for £20 return just in case you didn't know :)
Make sure you put some sunblock on for your hike 🔥

Yeah, occasionally one way with Ryanair/Easyjet. Unfortunately they only schedule two days a week and only through July and August, then you have to pay for luggage etc. And it's actually more difficult to get to Newquay airport from Truro than it is to get to Exeter airport - totally ridiculous. It takes 2 buses to get to Newquay airport, both of which only run once an hour, or 1 bus from Exeter train station to the airport that runs every 15 mins. You can also get a taxi to Newquay airport from Truro which is bout £80 - but it's only £17 return train fare to Exeter. Public transport in Cornwall is pathetic!!!
Not sure I'll need the suncream (fingers crossed I do haha!) but I'll Def be picking up some midge repellent 🤣

I've only been here a couple years and I've given up with public transport. I'm thinking of getting a motorbike lol
Well I hope you have a fab time up there, I'm jealous,I would love to visit the highlands one day 👌

It's been on my bucket list forever and I've got a 'big birthday' this year so I thought I'd break the bank and go for it!
