Who's definition of name? In my language a name is a noun not an adjective or adverb.
Muslims are confused because their definition of name is different. So it's easy to get lost when we communicate with the same words not realizing we have a different meaning.
Yes you are right mam, actually in Arabic there is a part of speech called "Ism" which is noun + adjective + adverb + pronoun + idea + many more. So we are thinking in that context.
That's what Muslims need to understand. A name in Arabic isn't just like a name in English or Hindi or French. The names in Arabic are more like the Attributes. Hence, when we say 99 names of Allah, it just means there are 99 attributes that Allah has chosen to give himself in the Quran. Moreover, they need to understand Allah is not the name of The God we worship. Allah, in fact translates to THE GOD. So, we worship Allah who is THE GOD and not the God whose name is Allah

@@skellingtonmeteoryballoon Brother, I have limited knowledge about this. In the Quran, it's mentioned that Romans and others were made to witness that Jesus(pbuh) died by an illusion from God. Whereas the real Jesus(pbuh) was brought up in heaven, just like Enoch(pbuh). But since every soul shall taste death, Jesus(pbuh) in that very body will be back to kill the Antichrist and then live here and die.
As of the guy who took his spot, if my memory serves right, I heard from my mother that he was granted heaven because he took his place voluntarily to save Jesus(pbuh) and the other disciples, buried him like a normal person. And No, he is not there in Mecca. In fact, Muhammad's(pbuh) grave is also not in Mecca. His(pbuh) grave is in Medina.
Muslims are not confused. It seems you lack knowledge on the matter. We're going into semantics. A name is a noun, but names are obviously often descriptive or derivatives of words with description. (Astronaut, dinosaur, etc) When used for something specific, they become a noun. A majority of names in every language has a meaning or is derived from something with meaning which often ends up making every name an adjective. When naming a child in Islam, you are recommended to name the child with a name with good meaning. Obviously in this case names are also attributes. A god is not defined to a naming schemes like us humans. So attributes/names/adjectives/pronouns whatever you wanna call it, is going into semantics but essentially the same thing
