I am a phd student and I love doing research. I feel very sad when Islamic scholars say that women should stay at home, maintain the household and raise children. When i think about that life it feels so poisonously boring. With the development of the technology you have washing machine, you have dishwasher, you have vacuum cleaner, and refrigerator. So what is the "work" womoen supposed to do all day? Raise kids? How many? One day the children becomes old enough to go to school. What do you do with the free time? I have seen so many in *strictly* islamic families women are lazy and backbiters, and addicted to tv and cellphones. They don't do anything at home other than making issues in the families. Such a wastage of human resources.
Thank you for talking about the issue

I agree, many house wives are lazy, backbiters and addicted to tv and smartphones. The only reason they turned out to be like that. Is a lack of knowledge on both deen and dunya, especially deen. But housewives are also like the backbone of a society. Raising a strong ummah depends on strong mothers. Raising kids the right way in this world of fitnah isn't a joke, raising kids is a 24hr job itself. I dunno how come, a paid job is a job but raising with proper care and moral values isn't?
You don wanna raise kids, being a housewife sickens you, yeah that's you. But there are women who may not want to be career women instead they want to be housewives which is a great choice of career. Even if they have a career, then they want to quit after marriage of having kids, that's an excellent choice and great selflessness. Housewives are the nurturers of future nations, they are the main future builders of nations. The more knowledgeable (both in dunya and deen) mothers we will have the stronger the ummah will be. Raising kids with Islamic teaching by being a stay at home mother is also like contributing to society and deen. And that's the biggest responsibility we have as women. Mother's get 50% more importance than fathers in Islam cause their role is that big and more important in a child's life.
Yeah we women should gain knowledge and try to have a career for a period of time. But building a strong ummah raising both our daughters and sons with Islamic values and teaching is our biggest responsibility. Also leaving pious kids is like sadkah that you will keep being rewarded even after death.

@@humayaislam9671 sorry but you didn't understand my pov. What do the women do in their free time if the kids start going to school and having their own lives? And with the development of technology there are not many things to do by hand in the home. It's not like I never stayed at home at all- I was a stay at home wife for over a year. And I know there is not much to do at home other than cooking and cleaning. It is such a waste of human resources to use all day just to cook and clean. So if you want to keep yourself busy you have to constantly give birth to kids till you stay fertile. Otherwise - no, there is not much work once the kids start having their lives- let alone become adults and leave the home. Even if you have kids till you are 45-50, there is a long lonely life ahead- watching TV and sulking at the kids that they don't visit you often.

It’s interesting that he mentions Malaysia and Indonesia as good examples of women actively participating in society and having rights because traditional Malay culture is a matriarch which is very different from the other Arab countries we are familiar with like Saudi, Yemen etc which have traditional patriarchal systems. Malays have always honoured women and it’s been taught culturally, so for Islam to support these already existing traditions is a no-brainer.
It is even documented that prior to the Prophet (SAW) introducing Islam to Mecca, the people were corrupt and treated the women and girls absolutely terribly. Islam was a way to teach them and reform them, that women have human rights as well.

We are such a misunderstood religion. Islam is not getting enough credit for being such a beautiful religion. People have so many stereotypes because there are so many fellow Muslims who think this way. I admire and respect Hazrat Khadija Raziallahu Tanahu and all Prophet Muhammad's wives (PBUH) because of their lifestyle and independence even in such an era. Hazrat Aisha Raziallahu Tanahu was the mother of Ummah and is said to be the most intelligent scholar in Islamic history. She was so special that Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) had a prophesized dream about her. He had gotten married to her early because of that same dream.

@@mahbubahmed7. Historical evidence shows how active muslim women were during the time of the prophet. Businesses , battleships, they were so involved in both, both are mix-gendered spaces. The verses on awrah, haya' , modesty etc have laid up very beautiful rules for women in public. None of the verses talk about physical segregation, let alone the domestication of women. If all of us, men and women, really understand the verses, really know to guard our eyes, modesty, practice haya', take care of our clothing n physical appearance following the Islamic rules, public appearance, be it for work, travel, study etc won't create any issue. The prophet allowed this, majority scholars agree with women's participation in public life, economy etc, why would a mere individual like us make things so difficult? Islam is beautiful in and out. It is this kind of mindset, our inability to respect differences that make Islam look ugly, outdated.

The problem is why do women think that staying at home and serving the family is "lower task"? Why do they assume that what men do is superior. Allah has assigned roles to each gender and we will be rewarded by following that.
Ibn 'Umar reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, "All of you are shepherds and each of you is responsible for his flock. A man is the shepherd of the people of his house and he is responsible. A woman is the shepherd of the house of her husband and she is responsible.

Why not? Staying at home all the time doing repititive work, isolating yourself from the world can be bad for mental health. Why suppress a person from reaching their full potential by limiting their world experiences? Also if you stay at home your entire whole life your muscles get weaker because of lack of excercise, even your bones become weak because of no sunlight. This is totally against nature.

@sakuracherryblossom-np3oi you gotta be kidding me.
Women staying at home does not mean she literally does not step outside lmao. The level of exaggeration is insane in your comment lol.
Look at equal societies like the Scandinavia where women are tired of working and want to find a man who can provide for them. With the exception of a few, it will be extremely challenging for women to balance the outside and raise kids, women do not have the same stamina as men, they were created different and hence they should feel comfortable in their skin and not compare themselves with men.

    • @Diaicy19
      @Diaicy19 Před 7 dny

@sakuracherryblossom-np3oi because going to the office and doing your job is not repetitive AT ALL right? Having a boss ordering you around can affect your mental health as well. Not working does not mean you do not have any hobby. In fact, being at home allows you to have other hobbies that you might not have the time for if you had to work AND handle housework (don't even talk about the burnout). Working women STILL do the majority of the housechores EVEN if they work. So I'd rather stay at home, take care of the house without the additional stress of paying bills and cater for my kids' needs instead and STILL have the time to do some baking, reading or memorising the Quran. It all depends on your perspective.

In the end, on the Day of Judgment, Allah will not ask you what other people thought or said, but what YOU did.

Okay... He mixed many issues together and presented it as a very clever approach.
Where did declaring exceptions as the general rule come from?
Yes, he may have helped many people with the Arabic language, but this does not require taking religion from him. He is not an alim anyway. Choose scholars carefully.
He spoke as if working women were building their lives independently of the capitalist order. We are not governed Islamically so, we do not wait working life and social life can be organized and kept safe in accordance with Islam.
I live in Turkey and I am a newly-graduated pharmacist, believe me, I could barely stand university... How can I "work" in this system that is hostile to Allah azza wa jall? Regardless of how Jewish Zionists control the pharmaceutical industry, what will remain of my sense of shame, haya if I live all day long in the pharmacy, hospital, company, etc., dealing with men who are complete strangers to me, communicating well, and having to smile? Moreover, with this kind of speeches, what kind of life am I being encouraged to live like this when Allah saved me from environments that he did not approve of and granted me the niqab?
Despite every problem, "some people" praise the working life and encourage Muslim women to do so. This is nothing but fitna in today's conditions. I cannot believe muslims genearally "forget(!)" about freemixing is haram and almost everywhere, freemixing is on its peak. How can we preserve our haya and iman in such system... Haya is a part of iman, you all know.
And I would like to point something serious:
We muslims deeply in need of countries founded on Islamic Sharia. We need our nizam, our system. You see, we just can't entegrate into kufr systems. Our mindsets, living purposes, priorities are completely different. We must reject them and their false-ideoligically formed systems. How can we really happy while taking their education, working in their places...
I call out to my sisters: Look for ways to use the talents Allah has given you "only in a way that will please Him". About your talents and mind etc. ; After learning your religion and your priorities, look for mashru' ways to use it for the ummah. Be sincere to the Ummah. Even before that, be sincere to our Rabb. You can fool everyone else, but you can't fool him tabaraka wa taala. He is the one who knows best your intentions that you strive for. Ask yourself what do you want to work for? Where? Know your priorities well, love your priorities because Allah has made them priorities.
If you are married, you have to be a spouse first. Love being a wife. If you find this task boring and do not get pleasure and a sweet excitement from it, you are at a loss. I am very serious.
In addition, the preparation and raising period for the child is underestimated. It even seems like a boring chore. What happened to us? Let's recover. Let's not fall into traps. Especially feministic traps.
I pray to Allah taala to give us hidayah and make us steadfast on hidayah.

Men who damn their wives to the home, fail to see both her potential for the family and the society, and also their own importance to partake in the home.

I wouldn't say the roles of men and women are equal for the simple reason that the man has an obligation to provide for his family. Likewise, it is the woman who bears the children. This automatically creates an asymmetry in what each one should do in a balanced family in my view. What do you think?

I think women have more of a role in the upbringing of a child. However many Muslim men seem to think that they can be totally absent from that duty and contribute almost nothing to raising the children. Their children have rights on them and they seem to forget their contribution in bringing this child into this world. But that does not mean that women should not work, when children become less dependent on their mothers, they get quite lonely and they need something other than their family to have a purpose. It can be a religious purpose, a charitable purpose, a financial purpose but something. A woman is not something that has to be hidden away in her house. The whole reason the burqa exists is to allow them to interact with the outside world.
