Tofo Beach, Mozambique - Peri Peri Divers

We spent 21 days in Tofo Beach, Mozambique enjoying the beautiful beaches, friendly people and amazing diving with Peri Peri Divers. We stayed in Musica Airbnb right on the beach, with the sunrise waking us up each morning. This is one of our favorite locations in Africa.
We enjoyed many days of diving with Peri Peri, and took the opportunity to increase our diving knowledge and skills by obtaining our Rescue Diver certification. It's great knowledge to have but hope we don't ever need to use it. Tofo is known for humpback whales that migrate here from Antartica in July and August for the warmer water to give birth and nurture their newborn in safe waters. We were very fortunate to witness some of the early arrivals in June.
Being in the southern hemisphere, June is the start of their winter season. The water conditions changed almost daily, with days of fair current and visibility, and others with strong currents and limited visibility. The reefs were healthy with good fish life. It was well worth our time to dive here and highly recommend it.
It's now time to say goodbye not just to Mozambique, but also Africa. We spent a total of 220 days in Africa spanning 9 countries, including Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa and Mozambique. We loved every adventure and feel so grateful to have had the opportunity to explore this beautiful continent with its friendly people, amazing animals both topside and under the waves. We'll definitely be back.
