WinX DVD Ripper Platinum is not able to encode Dolby 5.1 when *ripping* DVDs - only in backup mode. If you select ripping it does show a list of options, which audio to include in the output file. If you choose any of the options that say "6CH" you might expect to find six separate channels in the resulting file. In fact, WinX DVD Ripper Platinum then merges the orignal 6 channels of the track into only two channels.
You only get surround the sound provided on the original included into your output, if you use one of the backup options like "Full Title Copy", "Clone DVD to ISO Image" or "Clone DVD to folder".
One DVD was damaged, so the output simply stopped after encoding 1:36 hours of the 2:18 hours in the title. Unfortunately there was no error message so I assumed everything had been alright. That resulted in some disappointed faces in our home cinema.
While I’m trying to edit or take a photo of the video the video/audio skips in both these editing tools. Help please.
When setting channels to 5.1 during the ripping and format process. Has it been fixed so when playing file back it has sound going to all 6 channels?

nothing shows in the "select the source dvd disc" field. i hit the drop down and still the field is empty. Please help
Is your source movie DVD disc, ISO image or Video_TS folder? You need tap the corresponding button on the top of panel to load the content. If it's DVD disc indeed, make sure you have inserted your disc into DVD drive correctly, and then click "DVD Disc" to load it.
What's the difference from trial to paid?
Hello there😄，Trial version is limited to rip the first five minutes of any DVD. After purchasing the program, you will be provided the license code which will unlock all these limitations.
This is cool. Too bad I haven't owned a laptop with disc player in years. Not sure how I can use this :(

I bought a usb disk drive for £17.00 and cleared the clutter. Only one dvd failed to rip.
You better like this software because if you buy it that's it. I didn't like it for the reason that if you add subtitles, the subtitles are on and can not be turned off. So you have the option of a movie without subtitles or one with the subtitles on all the time. If this is something you can get around then great, but if you think Winx DVD ripper isn't for you you will have about zero chance getting a refund.
