I have a nine year old that has very similar diagnosis and I felt like you were talking about my daughter. It has been a very different road. But so rewarding when you can let go of why they should be doing and embrace where they have came from.

I feel like you were talking about my son, who just turned 11. His early years were exactly like what you described including the isolation I felt. He was diagnosed with level 2 autism at 3 along with adhd and anxiety at 8. I also feel like he has dyslexia and dysgraphia but no formal diagnosis and we are unable to qualify for therapies. We just started homeschooling this past year but I am already seeing a major differences in his willingness and ability to learn more and I’m working on prioritizing what he really needs and leaving out the rest. Thank you so much for sharing. I hope this reaches parents in the thick of it with the early years.

I would love more videos from you about any of these things. Maybe more detail about the Dyscalculia. My son is ASD and ADHD and SPD. Possible ODD. A lot of the things you say sound like him too. But I didn’t know what Dyscalculia was and that is sounding a lot like my kiddo. Math is the most horrible point of our day.
It’s hard to find a homeschool you tube tribe that has these special needs so I appreciate your videos. Any tips or tricks you’ve gone through would be great. Or details about each of the diagnoses that he has. Even the giftedness. My son is 2E as well. And I suspect his little bro is also gifted. I feel like we are in really similar situations!

Wow... Sounds a lot like my family, especially my 11-year-old, lol. Also the main reason I started homeschooling.

How were you able to test your children with dyscalculia? And dyslexia? My son has adhd and now my daughter she has this issue that you explained in your 3year ago video when your child read the word “the” then instantly forget. She’s really exactly that same way. She also has speech aproxia and in speech three times a week. I am trying to help her and don’t know where to start. I truly believe God brought me to your channel. My daughter is in 1st and we have done the good and the beautiful k and now on 1st grade and she’s not catching on at all. Just want to help her and really at a dead end 😢

You're not alone mama! I totally understand the struggle and the heartbreak of just wanting to help them but feeling helpless! I had my son tested at a psychologist, he had a complete neuropsychological educational evaluation, where they tested for several things, adhd, iq testing, all learning disabilities, auditory processing, visual processing, speech, OT, executive functioning etc. It was extremely informative! It was also hard emotionally to hear everything, but it was helpful in a lot of ways too and I'm very glad we did it! Last year we added in Logic of English at the recommendation of a speech therapist and it might be worth checking out for your child. Its very good for kids with dyslexia and overall we liked the program a lot. My son was really beyond it when we tried it and we've stuck with TGTB and added in some grammar and writing. We honestly have all but given up on spelling lol. His reading is amazing now though! I think reading aloud to him a lot and finding material that he was truly interested in and the biggest factor was just time. Once he hit 9-10 his reading started really clicking and he took off shortly after. Hang in there! Feel free to message me anytime!
