Do i have to win 1st place in all chocobo races for the platinum ?
Yes, you must win first place in every race. However, for the Gold Cup in particular, you just have to win first place overall, so you can still make it if you get second in one of them.

Why does this minigame within a much larger game look like its on par with most dedicated kart racer games? Lol. Wild. I'd never go as far to say as better than Mario Kart, but it certainly looks better than a lot of the knockoffs of Mario Kart.

It's a sidequest that you gain access to in Chapter 12. Continue with the story and you will unlock it eventually.

Have to progress further in the story. You will have access to this later in Chapter 12.
How do I get a membership
Honestly.. I don't get the complains about this mini-game. The others mini-games are awful, but chocobo race is one of the easiest. OFC in order to win easy, you need to visit completely most of the places in the game to obtain the gear which is.. fearly easy as well.
You only need Pico (yellow chocobo), and this gear : Shinra Avian Helmet, Hyperion’s Armor & Mystical Anklets. Easy win.
Easy mode is to use Fango with its Chocojump ability, nullify all annoying Cactuar Gates useless 😉

I'll try this, the fuck***ng cactiar gates and the round things are killing me.
I just used scarlet with random equipment and won gold. People over think. All you need is to hit the balloons and speed boost when you need space.

Im sooooo sick of stupid minigames to get endgame gear for brutal challenges. Im not even attempting platinum trophy its complete BS!
Finally, someone who gets it! Louder for the ones in the back talking about how “optional” these challenges are!
A lot of the mini games should have offered better rewards that had something to do with either the character using them or the game itself
They really messed up the whole game with these stupid mini games that only has 1 specific way to beat
