    I assume double lines legally can't be crossed?
    Regardless it looks like the driver was prepared and knew there was no oncoming. I used to be a stickler for the rules, but in reality the rules only go so far and driver skill and awareness is so much more important. The driver that overtook you was fully aware and they did so safely

      Yes, everywhere in the USA I've ever driven, a double solid line means no passing in either direction.
      There are typically two lines in the center of the road. Solid means no passing while broken beans passing is ok. The line on your side of the road applies to you. It's possible for passing to be allowed in one direction but not the other based on relative visibility, intersections, etc.

      ​@@saldiven2009 in the uk its similar. If you cant cross the line is continuous and uninterrupted. If you can it'll be broken apart. The closer to a dangerous overtake or turn you are the longer the lines will be without interuption. This helps you at nights if you can't see far ahead with poor weather, as you can anticipate corners and junctions with the road markings visible.

    That was me driving you were going way to damn slow not even the speed limit and i had to shit also i saw absolutely nothing wrong with that pass other than it being double yellow
