      Funny story, I sold this bike to a 16 yr old for his first bike. So far he loves it, it’s tons of power, but it sure has taught him tons of respect for the bike and power. Depending on the mindset it could be great or go bad. Learning slow and easy will keep him safe and respect at a high!

    Just got a beautiful condition 06 450 as well but I want to Sumo it out sometimes and can't get a good link to the right stator, rechargeable battery, switch, n small harness connecting it all together🤷‍♂️ with lights of course. Any chance you got a lead on that since you have the same bike?🙏👊✌️

    I had a 2006, YZ450F and absolutely loved it. The problem was I had it for two years and didn’t ride much, I was getting deployed and I sold it to my Uncle. I’m on another deployment, but when I get back I’m buying my 06 YZ450F back! I love this bike build and I’m loving these videos!

      @@DanMX2112 Thank you very much and your very welcome! Man I’ve had a few bikes in my day and I regret getting rid of my dirt bikes the most! Don’t do it! Lol. When I came across your channel I was excited! I have a feeling I’ll need to tear everything down, clean it, and see what’s what. It hasn’t started in a while from I’m told, I don’t know how many hrs are on it, but I’m wanting to rebuild it and get new top end and bottom end in. But first see what’s what. What do you think?? @DanMX2112  Před 2 lety +1

      @@DanMX2112 Awesome! My thoughts as well. I was curious did you have to re-jet your bike when you moved to Utah? I’m not to knowledgeable on carbs, and engine work, but watching your videos and the how to videos on Rocky Mountain I feel like I can do it. And I’ve always enjoyed doing my own maintenance as far as oil change, air filter, and doing graphics. If you don’t mind would it be ok to email you or pm you?

    Thanks for your thorough and detailed videos. Very informative and I learned alot already. I got me a 06 yz250. 2 weeks ago. Got it all stripped and cleaned. Put it all back together. Except rear brake doesnt have any pressure? Lines are good, no leaks. I bleed, rebleed, reverse bleed, tk make sure no air inline. Whats is the problem? It works before i did the brake service.

      Thanks for the kinds words, but as far as your issue it’s hard to say. I always go back to “what did I do, that would effect that part.” Example would be new parts, different install position, different chemicals, etc… crazy things will effect some components. I wish I could help but sounds like you have covered the bases.

    Sweet bike, man! Mind if I ask how much you weigh and what spring rates you went with? I'm 220 and looking at Race Techs calculator on their site. Would be nice to hear your experience or any love, hate, wish I would have thoughts on your spring rate selection. I'm finishing the head on an 09 and can't wait to ride it. Awesome Video!

      @DanMX2112  Před 5 měsíci

      I loved the Race Tech springs I put on my bike. I used the calculator and put in B class motocross 220 lbs intermediate. That rate they suggested is what I used and dang, that bike handled amazing! No bottoming even in big hits, and still had a great plush feel in the beginning come the stroke. The Maxima 5w oil is killer also.

    Enjoyed the video my friend..I am looking at a 06 yz450f with pro circuit suspension and dual walled oversized handle bars and is supposedly low hours.... he's asking $4k which I think is a lil high for a older bike.... I have never owned a dirtbike only a few dual sport as a kid back in the 80's... he said it needs new tires as the ones on it are a lil worn on the outside lugs.. said it wasn't due to pavement.... what would be a fair offer to give the seller being said the things above? I am thinking $2100 - $2500 tops.. dunno how much good tires like yours would cost?

    • @DanMX2112
      @DanMX2112  Před 2 lety

      Tires will be around $250 with tubes, and $25 per wheel to mount. I think in this market $2500 is a great offer, otherwise walk if it’s not perfect. Thanks for watching a good luck on the search. You’ll love the 450 if you pick it up.

      I’m gonna say it’s a jetting issue. Idk how you start it, but the method I use is as follows. Roll the bike over 3 times slow, and find top dead center. Flick the throttle full open quickly 3 times, and give it a hard kick. Usually fires first and second kick!

    I just recently bought the same bike, 2006 Yamaha YZ450F. I've always been a Big Bore Honda guy, so this is my first time owning a Yamaha. Of course it's been a learning curve. The main problem I have is there's a knocking noise in the motor, definitely am a loss of what it could be. I'm not blessed with a whole lot money but am determined to fix this bike. I can't afford to take to a mechanic so I will have to be the one who does this.. I love the videos your sharing in which I'm learning alot. If you have any kind of help 6:13 available, please help.. Tim

    • @DanMX2112
      @DanMX2112  Před rokem

      These motors make a small knocking noise, it’s normal. If it sounds loud and bad, it may be. The 05-09 yz450f was a pound motor.

      @@DanMX2112 Hey Daniel, thanks for getting back to me so quickly, I apologize for not knowing exactly what pound motor is? I think I could take that good or bad.. Anyways this bike has the fmf factory 4.1 exhaust and doesn't even sound as sweet as your does. If you don't mind I'll try and send you a short video.. Only if you have the time.. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

      Sorry that was a typo do to autocorrect, I meant a loud motor. Go over to my Instagram and send me a video of it running from close and about 4 feet away on both sides of the motor. Also, have you do t a valve adjustment recently, that also can be a cause of a slightly louder engine.

      Same motor, but has a steel frames solid bike and very reliable. If it has the low hours the seller says it has, your gonna like the bike. The aluminum frame is a slightly larger bike, and I think handles totally different, but either way are both great units!
