  • Well we have enough rides on this helmet to make a good judgement call on what works and what doesn't. This has been a great helmet thus far but thats not without it quirks.

    It's cool that they considered making a version for the street. 509 is a snowmobile focused products company.

      It’s awesome. They are a great company that makes some really good products. Plus they are located near my hometown so gotta support the local business

    Appreciate the review! Been watching reviews on this helmet. I like the look, the cardo obviously, but what I’m most interested in is sound quality. I’d probably do that fire red visor, like it a lot. I also want to throw on some light mode lights cause I think this would make a good tron helmet.

      This would be an awesome platform for that. It’s already kinda set up to be futuristic. I would love to see how it turns out. The sound quality is better on the 509 for sure. It is noticeable between the two but I think a lot is placement and design. The icon wasn’t designed for headphones so there isn’t space nor easy pass through for sound. That being said if your and audiophile your not going to get mega high quality from anything in a helmet for safety unless you make your own

    I just ordered this helmet, should be here Tuesday. When people complain about the price, it makes me curious how much they pay for a basic helmet. I would pay more than 699 for a helmet if it if only had some next level type protection without any electronics. I see the Cardo as a bonus. Don’t go cheap on a helmet, it’s the only thing protecting your skull from the blacktop at 60 mph. Don’t think of it as “if” I end up going down, but “when”.

    7:33 I have mechanical cruise control. For sound deadening you lose cooling. The vents not being accessible or easy to work. That’s just learning the helmet. Not have a sun shade 😎 that’s actually annoying. The buttons being smooth so you can’t feel them…. again that’s just learning your helmet.

      There is a lot of learning how things are that’s true.

      Use the voice commands. Much easier than using the buttons

    Hello! I also have that Helmet and recently did a review on it. I also have that Fire face shield. The Cardo is something I'm used to, because several of my Helmets have Cardos on them. I think I have only one with Sena on it. The Helmet is Dope. It's very similar to my Icon Airflites, but a little better. Just subscribed to your channel. I watched both of your videos about this Helmet.

      Heck yeah I’m headed to your channel to see what you thought about it. Gonna subscribe and thanks for checking it out

    Great review! Im pretty sure the cardo system has voice commands, so there's no need to use the buttons.

      That’s good to know I really should read the manual to get the full benefit of all the features

    I almost wonder if they put the controls where they are on purpose, to discourage riders from fiddling with their helmet and potentially being unprepared for an incident

    • @ModdingAddiction
      @ModdingAddiction  Před 4 měsíci

      That might be so but then why put the tech on it. Skipping songs answering calls changing the volume is all fiddling with it but I see your point. With trying to get the right settings though is tough when ridding conditions change

    hi cool review. I was wondering how does the music system on the cardo for this helmet work. Can it play specific songs or any song you ask or you have to have music saved for it? and is there any other music related feautures? Thanks in advance : )

    • @ModdingAddiction
      @ModdingAddiction  Před 15 dny

      It plays through Bluetooth so anything that’s on your phone you can play. It’s like wireless headphones. The Sena has a feature that you can listen to the radio which is cool but in reality it isn’t useful. The quality is bad and hard to change channels. Long story short I put my music on either pandora or my Apple Music

    Great review! The pump control on the right side seems strange. How did they passed useability test during their design phase since I can't think of anyone that would prefer it being on the right. Maybe a future Mach 6 will have it swapped. Not a dealbreaker though, annoying but once dialed in I would just pump it up to where I like it and leave it at that during a ride.

    • @ModdingAddiction
      @ModdingAddiction  Před 4 měsíci

      The feature is still nice your right but I don’t know seems strange that people would want that but they are a snowmobile company that probably have lefty throttles so it wouldn’t matter either way

    How does the mic perform? Does it pick=up a lot of background noise? The Cardo mic picks up way to much background noise on my Icon.

    • @ModdingAddiction
      @ModdingAddiction  Před měsícem

      The mic does awesome from what I am told. There is very little road noise that comes through. I think I hear more when I’m talking that the receiving end of the call

    I purchased the Delta V Commander for snowmobiling. There was way too much wind noise over 40 miles an hour. What are your thoughts on that

    • @ModdingAddiction
      @ModdingAddiction  Před 3 měsíci +1

      There is a considerable amount of wind noise but for the streets it’s kinda a necessary evil. If you block out too much of the noise you won’t be able to hear things around you. Now on a snowmobile out in the woods it’s going to not matter as much plus the exhaust is probably loud enough to block everything out anyways. Now does the delta have the inflatable ear pockets?

      Agreed I still wear the heck out of it and it is an amazing helmet. In reality it’s going to be impossible to get everything right for everyone. Plus is a dollars game what’s worth the extra and what can get skimmed by
