- In this video I discuss the concept of "turns" in Tekken and when it's ok to push a button on defense.

Why is it that every video you release helps me immensely?
Excellent video as always! These breakdowns are some of the best explained fighting game content out there.
these videos are so simple and so useful, thanks a lot
I've been learning a lot from your videos, thanks for the content sensei!!
-It will teach you when is your turn
-me; ohh cool I get it!
*proceeds to be launched and juggled indefinitely by Azucenas, Reinas, Fengs and Dragunovs*
Thanks for the tips as always 👍
Your content is as digestible and as valuable as ThatBlastedSalami. GOATed channel!
Against a Hwoarang? Never. It's never your turn.
I do think tekken 8 we are forced to sidestep right on time rather than blocking, you can block first two hits then sidestep the third in a string. Thats what made me able to punish these pressure
yo loops that was fun as hell playin with you tonight. i was wanting to understand how tricky's xiao wrecked me so easily, but you were able to handle her really well. this vid seemed like a good place to start. 0:44 i can vouch for loops' throw break ability. i was even switching up what throws i was using and he broke like 90% of em. it was wild.
Good games homie!
Good vid thx
I've always done that, but then my opponent does some evasive move dodging my jab and counter hit me
Any good resource you recommend for learning feng?
Omg thank you for this! As a fellow Feng main struggling to hit red ranks, this is super helpful! Thank you!!
yeah i think i just need to hold back more and do more jabs against xiao. i have a tendency to always fish for counter hits as vic, and she was wrecking every button i pressed towards that end. she was even beating my b1 f i was going to use to open her up with perfumer mixups. some characters it just never seems like it's my turn and xiao is one of them. reina was like that for me too at first, but i play her so much ive gotten used to the matchup way more than xiao. im gonna hop in to tekken and work on this rn. thanks again for the videos loops.
I have eaten too many yoshimitsu low launchers today 😓
I just got mocked for holding back by a King player. I guess I was partially correct in it.
Beginner here. Could you do a video on high blockers please? They always block high so I do some lows which are so weak. And then they seem to hit me after I do a low anyway.
A lot of lows are minus even on hit, or if they're plus its not by much. That could be some reasons you're getting it after landing one
What character are you playing?
LOOOPS teach us da wey
I feel like this vid kind of ignores the fact that strings are a thing. Whenever I feel like I can't find my turn its never my opponent doing single moves then stopping, its always strings with extensions or stance changes, and you really can't apply this methodology there.
You can! you just hold back for the entire string. Strings are usually 2-4 hits, and over time you'll be able to recognize which strings are coming out and when they're going to end. When they end they're going to be minus, so apply everything I mentioned here.
@@loops9508I’ve seen strings are like 10 hits and that just takes so long.
Plus half the time they are mixed in with lows so it’s hard not to get hit by a lot of them
Every character has 10-string combos, but these are exceptions not the rule. If you're simply holding back the reality is you're going to be tagged by some lows, and that's ok. The important part is not getting tagged by a low that sweeps you off your feet. Identifying where those are so you can block will come with time.
Until then, you'd rather eat 3 quick lows than 1 launching mid. Even if they do the same damage, at least the 3 quick lows left you standing.
@@loops9508 thanks
@@tableprinterdoor 10 hit combos aren't natural combos, and you can punish them at some point during that string of moves.
A specific tip for new players, you can also sometimes use a duck jab to interrupt your opponent's offense
you can get launched this way tho
A good example is low rank Law mains that spam that low sweep launcher. If you take some time to just focus on defending and seeing what the opponent is doing, after a bit it becomes insanely easy to just block/low parry and launch him. Law's low sweep launcher is insanely strong, but it becomes a downside when you play slow and counter it.
Or Victor mains that spam 2, at some point you'll realize ducking the pistol shot is extremely easy and you'll launch him every single time.
You have some people in here that are whining and have never checked the frame data… “I can’t hit him! He has strings that last forever!!”
Oh? Every move he has is i10 or less?? With 0 or + on block?!?? Wow can I try that character?!??
Never
