The bit where you talked about being okay with putting a lot of effort into a video knowing it'll only help a few handfuls of people resonated with me. I recently put a lot of work into an hour-long tutorial for modding a game and was a little caught up in how low the viewcount was. At some point I had forgotten that I don't really care as much about how "successful" a video is but rather on putting out something I'm satisfied with. I'm going to try not to forget this going forward.
I've actually always hated the idea that people expect you to always be increasing some number, whether that's your subscriber count, the number of viewers watching your stream, etc. And people will assume that if those numbers are ever lower than they were previously that automatically means you're failing, you're falling off or becoming irrelevant. To me that's a ridiculous way to look at it. The truth is as long as you're enjoying what you're doing it really doesn't matter how many people see it. Of course if you do CZcams/streaming as a job I'm sure it's at least somewhat different, but I feel like if I were pulling in enough revenue/viewership to keep funding my hobby I'd be satisfied.
Ever since picking up Tekken, I've tried to make more effort to engage with the smaller content creators I do enjoy, partially just so their metrics look better and the algorithm will spread their content, but also just to hopefully help them feel justified in making the content in the first place. At the very least, even if nobody reads my ramblings I can rest assured my comment helps with metrics.
Also on a totally unrelated note but I really enjoy the way you talk. I personally stutter a lot and am not very clear when I speak on video, but the way you talk is so clear and just feels like you really know what you want to say.

Yeah tha part about expectations is really important. I felt bad that my recent video fell so hard when I think I've improved.
At the same time, looking at analytics and making videos based on what I think people want makes me feel kinda sick. I want to help people and have good discussions, not "blow up".
      It's a great reminder!

I heavily believe in the sense of 'people dont know what they want', but there is a lot more involved in it than just that as a statement. People don't know what they want because they don't know what they don't know, but they know there's something there, some nebulous idea or missing piece. People don't know how to look for things they want, or how to look beyond the first set of responses or answers they get, or assume if it doesn't show up immediately then it must not exist.
The amount of depth that's understood about something you want, the more value you can get out of what you search for. If I throw 'ky kiske combos strive' into youtube, im going to get a set of 20-30 standard fare combo videos, exactly what you'd expect. But if you put in the slightest bit more depth, 'ky kiske burst safe combos', suddenly you get into an entirely new realm of obscure small channels that are hyper fixated on detail-oriented teaching. 'aba combos' right now will get you the bread and butter jealous mode flashy combos that sure are cool, but 'aba normal mode frame trap pressure' will bring you to a dude with 300 followers and the most insanely comprehensive full detail guide on how many things you can do for any given situation.
If somebody is putting out the same information that any big name channel or streamer can do, yeah, the small guy has no chance. Everyone and their uncle has a guide on things that are literally built into the tutorial. But those small guys who have very detailed or niche informational content for specific concepts, they aren't being hidden away by the algo or repressed, they're reaching exactly who they're intended to reach, the people who know what they want and how to look for it.

Hey, Drizzzle here. Your videos helped me a lot when it came to improving at the game. I am very grateful for you taking the time and effort to make an entire video centered around giving me advice. Thank you for your help, Loops!

Hey man, just wanted to say I found your channel a while ago, and im subscribed but tbh I haven't watch any videos because the videos feel a little...too raw? Like it's easy to get lost in what you're saying. I'm just saying this cuz im actually interested in your videos, but I'd be more engaged in what you're saying if you had chapters on the youtube player for every topic-shift, and more upbeat inflections in voice. No hate, i just wanna be engaged with your content cuz i'm actually interested 💯

It's all about conveying information and communication isn't it?
People play fighting games to hit others and feel it's cool.
They need to get better at landing said hits and understand the tools they've been given.
Knowing when and how to land said moves is what most players keep climbing towards.
    It's all about appreciation.
    Art and gameplay.
In terms of fighting game content, what I'm currently seeking is combo cartography.
Like, come on FGC, why can't we just pool all our minds and contribute to combos.
Putting all of the attacks together and understanding them in parts is so unconsolidated.
Drives me nuts. And mention any art details into a description and I think people would be happier.
Give people a road map and let's all not reinvent the wheel.
Good vid, reaching and inspiring a few people can go a long way.
One good deed goes towards another.

I am not a content creator and not planning to be, listened to your video to relax after getting my butt whooped on ranked, all you said sounds about right.
But am not sure about that "sort of a discord for sharing successful ideas". It is here, it's youtube, right? Not in a supportive way, but it has all the data quite readily available.
I can see these few content creators with high numbers under their videos, I can see other people copying their ideas and not being as successful.
There's something about being a big name already, about inner charisma, about high production value - how being told "you need my charisma & my budget" would make that easier?
The bit about setting your own goals and appreciating the chance to help as many as 40 or more people is the thing everyone should hear, but am not sold on the discord idea

Good thought, yes it's true that "all of the data" is readily available on youtube, but a few notes.
      1) The only data we have access to is the data that we generate. I can test things out and get info back, but a network of people with their own pools of data would give me more to work with to make better informed decisions.
      2) Data means nothing until it has been contextualized and interpreted. Some creators may have all the data they need, but no background to leverage it to make informed decisions.
To be clear I'm not implying a community where big guys say "I made a video about this, you all should to" and then they do it with less results. That isn't helpful for anyone.
What could be helpful is someone saying "Hey everyone! Earlier this week I went back to some underperforming videos and touched up the thumbnails. I tried to declutter the composition a bit and increase the size of the more important pieces. Click through rate seems to be up, so here are some before and afters." Then the community has something to think about, bounce off of, experiment with, etc.
Ultimately I advocate for a community of people who share their innovations and results, and ideally not a group chat of leeches who snipe ideas out from one another.

I think one of the reasons why fighting games aren’t that popular is that they don’t have an appeal for younger audiences and thats mainly because of reasons 1- most current foghting game’s audiences are people who grew up with fighting games not necessarily all but most and i think thats why you see most content creators for fighting games are more mature ie( over 25 y) and those naturally can’t cator to young audiences the reason i am talking alot about young audiences is the are the money makers they are your fortnite skin and pag buyers
Number 2- is 60 dollars for fighting games, i think its very hard for young gamers to buy a game that they know that nobody they know play
Its a gamble most won’t take
And plus fighting games are hard but i think young people learn fast so i think when 2xko comes buy its gonna be huge for fighting games as a whole
