  • My son and I visit a historic property located in Hartford, Wisconsin. It was once owned by the Kissel family. They owned and ran the Kissel Motor Car Company. The current property owners gave us permission to metal detect the property. My son, Philip, was using his Nokta Makro Simplex and I used the XP Deus ll metal detector. Come along and see what we were able to find on this metal detecting adventure! (A special thank you to the property owners for granting permission to metal detect this beautiful and historic property!)

    Great finds and a fun hunt to watch! I think the large circular item might be a fancy reins guide. The “10” item is the head of a railroad nail. I believe that’s the year it was made, so 1910.

    Most of the coins you dug, you could have used a probe and popped the target out. I also like that one of you is using something to lay the dirt on, less mess that way. Keep the videos coming!

      @TheHistoryDigger1  Před rokem

      The ground was pretty hard snd we had limited daylight. Not a big fan of coin probed but I’m sure your correct.

    I did not read all of the comments so maybe this was already detailed but I believe the decorative embossed item which was referenced as a possible ladies jewelry is a picture hanger.

    New to detecting. Looks fun. Love history. 55yrs old. Was looking to get the Garrett AT Max? I think that's what it's called.. What do you think Sir? Was gonna start with just a nice pinpointer for the beach then go from there. Purchase would include pinpointer... Like your video's and knowledge... Kris on treasure coast of Florida...

    • @TheHistoryDigger1
      @TheHistoryDigger1  Před rokem +1

      Hi Kris - honestly I’m not a big fan of the Garrett products but that’s just me. I do know several that use them and like them but not sure about how it performs on the beach. Given you’re in Fla id give Myers’s Metal Detecting a call. You can tell them a bit more and they can point you to the best detector for you. www.myersdepot.com/

    • @TheHistoryDigger1
      @TheHistoryDigger1  Před rokem +1

      Thx for asking. No I still use it most of the time when in parks or yard permissions. Not in fields. It depends on ground conditions. I show it in one of the video clips, I think you just missed it.
