Yes, though the 40mm cartridge is longer in length and its ammunition is telescoped. The CTAS will likely be the superior platform though it should prove to be more expensive.

This CTA 40 appears to be focused on attacking an IFV, likely from another IFV with a machine gun for soft targets. The CTA website states, "The terminal effect of the 40mm HE round is 4 times greater than that of a 30 mm conventional High Explosive round. The 40CTAS ammunition can address land, naval and aerial targets including emerging drone threats." It does not seem to have an associated fire control system outside of "a state-of-the-art aiming and stabilizing system." No info on whether it could integrate with existing fire control systems to engage aerial targets such as an Su-25 Frogfoot within the 4.5km range of the CTA 40. Obviously, the role of an IFV is not to engage fixed-wing aircraft. CTA would clearly like to see this autocannon mounted on ships and boats, some of which have an FCS for tracking fast-moving targets. Since this is the only CTA product, this French company must have plans for such integration, or are seeking second- and third-world customers who cannot build such advanced technology.

the American have not decide on the gun. it can be 30 mm or 50 mm.
And Russia may go with 57mm. I think days of 25-30mm are over for future vehicles.
