    If it can handle a small AIO analog FPV camera, the digital ones may be a bit too heavy, it's a cute model to carry around and have some fun with.

    Looks like a baby brother to Zohd's Drift, and without the Kopilots features.

    Yep. This is another little beauty from Volantex! A really nice upgrade for the 3ch version that is also a very good beginner's trainer. The wing dihedral has been flattened just a mite from the 3ch version and the motor has gone from an 8.5x20 to a 10x20, but the board is exactly the same - just no aileron servo fitted to the 3ch. You could fit 1 if you wanted. For all their light weight they are fun to sky surf into a light breeze. Only addition needed would be a strip of fibre tape from belly to nose to protect from gravel rash.

    Wish something like that was around when I started out, such planes lower the build/repair/frustration threshold to insignificance and make great recruiting tools. I think I would advise beginners to add a few inches of high visibility tape, though; that colour scheme must be hard to spot in a thicket.

    Wow... It really looks amazing, Lee! 😯
    It's a bit pricey, though... But with a hobby knife and perhaps a dremel it wouldn't be difficult to put an FPV AIO camera there!
    Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

    for the money you can't go wrong brilliant little fix wing, tbh i'd rather new pilots learnt to fly LOS before FPV as there is definite advantages if the fpv fails and you have to get it back form the ground view.

    Hi Lee, This is so cute, I really like when a company has a good trainer kit for the beginners. Unfortunately black is terrible for orientation I have lost so many black airplanes, I was thinking about a radiomaster ELRS 5ch car receiver for I can use my boxer, but for fpv a AKK BA3 aio 200mw vtx, I know the vtx will work,,not sure about the receiver. Thanks for the video and the info on the Ranger 600.

    Have you tried the XK A800? That’s a brilliant little plane to keep in the caravan and flies very well.

    I like Volantex, but the world ain't the same with AtomRC out of stock. A great reason to have a Multi - radio nonetheless.

    Don't us the One click Return. I tried it a close range the, plane never turned it just gained more altitude and was never seen again.

    • @theoztreecrasher2647
      @theoztreecrasher2647 Před měsícem

      When set up as clearly described in the manual, the One Click Return works as intended. However few people really understand HOW it is supposed to work (It ONLY returns a plane towards you from directly on the line and heading defined by the user at each power-up - from any other direction it will fly nowhere near you!) and so it would be much better if it was discontinued from the board programming and they instead re-populated the 4-pin WIFI socket points so you could use a transmitter-operated WiFi (or on-board card-only) camera. That would allow it to be used as a "Beginner" unit for close-in FPV training (or toy AP camera.)

    Would be nice to stick a ELRS RX in there and analog setup

      I agree, a few tweaks and it could be a useful trainer for the modern fpv fixed wing part of the hobby... Happy flying

      A ELRS tx and WS avatar 1S lite would be perfect 👍🏽😀

      it's a basic pwm dual servo board. they dont do fancy stuff like CRSF. that said, you could figure it out and somehow replace the servos and their control with an elrs rx. the bird could fly without an FC, but the default one does have a gyro built in.

    • @dronepilot260rc
      @dronepilot260rc Před měsícem

      @@phearz0r you can run ELRS as SBUS and a lot of gyros accept that but I have no idea of the electronics inside this thing so I’m not sure how difficult it would be to convert.

    • @phearz0r
      @phearz0r Před měsícem +1

      @@dronepilot260rc I have one of these and have investigated it. it's a board w a gyro that has the two servos built in. everything is all in one, the Rx is part of the board. not sure if there is a pin you could attach an external one to. that said, the space is very tight, you probably wouldn't be able to fit a PWM output rx and have to use something small with the sbus or crsf like you said. the servos are just 2 inline, at least they were on mine. the layout on this one is slightly different. mine only had elevator and rudder, which went straight to the back along the length of the bird.
