38 mins, hold on... Just grabbed a beer, a bag of beef monster munch and a pepperami(UK Stuff) for the show. I even took my slippers off and put my feet up. Love the longer content Chris :D Thank you.
I worked on a military installation for thirty some years and we did gas, water and sewer. When I first started we had two operators, one had the feel and never tore up anything. We always said he could not only feel everything below the ground when digging he could also tell you what color it was. Then again the other operator couldn't feel shit and he always put everything on top of the ditch so we could see what he tore up.
About three months ago our road commissioner called in three locates so he could replace or install new culverts, and they marked the old line in all three locations. Took out a 25, 50, and 100 pair phone lines all in one day.
Eddie, it would have been a close thing all right. Chris was pretty damn pleased with himself for threading that big pipe under the cable, so if a new cable went in at the same depth, I guess it would have scratched the top of the culvert. Even if they'd ripped a wee crack it wouldn't have mattered being at the top of the pipe. What I was wondering about was power cable. If you watch Andrew Camarata's channel, he often mentions power going right down the center of the long drives he puts in for new house builds in NY state. I was also looking for the warning tape you see them put near the top of trenches when back filling over power and propane pipes at least. I have no idea what the regs are for NC, or how they might have changed since that drive and property was built, but I'm thinking it must be relevant. It makes it more interesting as well.
@@TrevorDennis100 If they have 4 dead phone lines, 1 live, and they put a new one in each time it got cut; I'm guessing for burying cable they've got a buddy who can do it cheaper.
Quality work and finish as per usual Chris great to see the Guessometer in action prior to slipping that pipe under the cable can only guess you had a face like a Lottery Winner when it slipped under first time 👌🏼
Alignment ribbons are part of EU directives. So in Germany too. if there is no electricity, gas or water then the cable is yellow with black inscription
Nice Job, nice reuse of old concrete and decorative stone. Looks natuaral, the forrest will add the final touch and a level driveway! Good example of call before you dig! and a spotter with shovel. Hand dug many a whole with 3/4" stone and 36" below railroad tie with line bar.
Tim standing their beside the pipe after the back filling he looks like a state worker leaning against the shovel!! 😂😂😂 sorry tim had to say that!!! Because I’m a state worker!! 😂😂😂
Chad Isett I was a city worker too. Somebody came up with an idea to make a stand that would hold a shovel up. But no one liked it because the stand would take their job.
Really like the longer videos. I'm guessing customer didn't wanna spend extra $ for a hammer. They can always fill in hole litt n summer. Amazing how these people comment on stuff. Most have no clue what it cost or work involved n ur line of work. U have a reason u do things the way u do. Like concrete thing. U gotta do whst u csn in time u have an budget
For what ever reason I was thinking the cable would be bigger, the industrial type. Great skill set not breaking it, hell even seeing it! Great job. Glad the rain held off. Thanks for the videos.
I love Andrew's videos, and he is about to overtake Chris with his number of subscribers. Chris and Andrew have different skill sets, but what gives Chris the edge IMO, is that I'd much rather have him for a buddy than Andrew. Chris cracks jokes, and does great banter with Tim and Justin, whereas I don't think I have ever seen Andrew crack a smile, and I have seen all his videos, and a lot of them twice. He does have some good friends to be fair, as evidenced by the help he got building his container building. I'm just glad that they both keep uploading great content, because I am going to keep right on watching it all.
Dang Chris you are much loved and watched when I started watching only 3 people had liked now none had watched the video yet, and now 1 hour later over 230 comments 3 thumbs down and with 2350 views
He should walk in the front of the pipe and have a tag line attached to the pipe .not near the tracks of the machine ,just a segestion to improve your safety on the job .old jimmy x rigger west australia your doing a grand job all the same a small rock hammer would have been handy on your yanmar for that concrete you couldn’t get out
Plus his buddy was walking in front, real close to the tracks, and then he goes fussing about with his phone taking pics. My butthole was puckered at that moment, I don't mind tellin ya.
Love the way you rock in those pipe ends. The Downstream rock looked GREAT on this one. Not sure why you mentioned you think there won’t be any water in the pond anymore after it silts one, since there’s clearly been water in there for a while and it didn’t silt in yet. But that old concrete headwall definitely caused an issue. “Unforeseen circumstance” Guess the homeowner didn’t want to pay for the time to remove it to get the culvert set correctly? Anyway, looks great
Wish you were close to me. Had a similar situation on my driveway. Fixed last week. My 35 yr. old metal pipe collapsed. Nightmare job. Instead of power line, we have our water line in the middle of bridge. New 30 ft. 42" plastic pipe. 2 loads new rip rap, 1 load #4 rock, 5 loads new hard clay, 2 loads crush run. Lucky found some real pros to do it, but expensive.
Sorry if this is a stupid question but have you done a video on how to operate an excavator? I saw the one on how to run a dozed but I havent seen one for that.
ahh... now you're in my world... cables everywhere, don't know what's really what. Except with me it's usually fiber and they aren't feeling so free about it.
Your works excellent mate but I will say one thing. Guys in the trenche need hard hats. Iv seen first hand what a fist size chunk of clay with a rock in does to a man when it comes unstuck from the back of a bucket. Resulting the guy suing his boss and winning. .
When I Hauled Heavy Equipment I had 4. 1/2" chains that were 35' long. They were for cross tieing Large Steal or Iron frames and Chassis. I bet that chain you are useing was a Logging transport chain and is 25 to 30 feet long.
shouldn't that have been a fair bit deeper???? there seemed to be a good bit of standing water still after you added the 48 inch line for it to drain through... You would think that with a pond that small and a line that large it would have cleared out a little quicker. Water is still going to settle there especially when that culvert starts building up a little sedement as all culverts eventually do.
Did you take a picture of that concrete wall before you started cutting on it? It was a piece of history from some time back before the road was built higher. It was in good shape too.
I don't call many people experts but the man operating that grab certainly is an expert.
38 mins, hold on... Just grabbed a beer, a bag of beef monster munch and a pepperami(UK Stuff) for the show. I even took my slippers off and put my feet up. Love the longer content Chris :D Thank you.
You know how to dress things up so they look good and function better than it did before . 😬 👍
This is strangely relaxing and comforting to watch. Fun project and great operator skills. Thanks for taking the time to shoot, edit, and upload!
I worked for ma bell for over 30 years and it's good to see someone who knows how to work around buried telephone lines! Good work!!!
Not only a super talented operator, but also not afraid to step out and get his boots in the dirt.

ii
I want to be like the first operator, please & thank you. Haha
Good work. Thank you for explaining each step of the process.
You guys do very great work and you pay attention to the little details to make your customers Happy.
I did that the other ripped a 300 pair phone line out of the ground. It’s abandoned but still fun to rip out! Definitely a big culvert pipe! Nice work
Loving the longer videos - thanks
Beautiful work!! Man you make operating that machine look easy!👍🏻
This is another 'feature length' video from Chris,..always great entertainment to watch.
This is very calming and entertaining. Thanks for filming these videos.
Nice job, turned out great as always!
Pleasure watching you work.
Your operating skill is a real pleasure to see.
This would've been even better with a 2nd camera! Still a fun watch. Thanks for posting.
Great work....I dig pools for a living an I would be happy to have such a skilled excavator
38 minutes? Time to grab the popcorn!
Nicely done. great looking finished result.
Nice and long video Chris, thanks!!!
Wonderful video!
You do such beautiful work. You do every job like its for your self, flawless and very professional.
About three months ago our road commissioner called in three locates so he could replace or install new culverts, and they marked the old line in all three locations. Took out a 25, 50, and 100 pair phone lines all in one day.
Fine work Chris, another job well done !.
Enjoy your videos. You ate involved with a lot of stuff.
You did a helluva job man. You damn sure know what your doing buddy.
Love the green stripe pipe!
Another excellent video Chris .
Great video bro and Tim.
Perfection... like a glove
Nice tidy job as usual Sir !!
Good thing you spared the telephone line. They probably would have damaged the pipe putting in a new one.

Enjoyed a full watch. Nicely done.
Wow Chris you do good work nice job
Always awesome videos
Nice work Chris,
That is one impressive mosaic floor. :)
Nice work, enjoy watching you maneuver that excavator!
I am amazed they don't use a marking band all the way on top of that phone line. We usually have a marking strip 30 cm above the cables in Denmark

Good job Chris nice hat Timmy
Tim standing their beside the pipe after the back filling he looks like a state worker leaning against the shovel!! 😂😂😂 sorry tim had to say that!!! Because I’m a state worker!! 😂😂😂
If it was a state job, there would be four workers leaning on shovels.

Did a good job thanks for sharing and stay safe
Beautiful work brother
You placed that stone as well as Roger Cook and 10 men on This Old House.
I bet the guy who signes the front of the check was pissed when he saw his pond still there.
That old damn was a curve ball.
A couple of sticks of dynamite would have solved the problem.
Beautiful job.

Your uncle is a character for sure Chris, all one has to do is hold the plastic pipe so it can balance right. It's nor rocket science, Bam!!!
You sure have interesting projects.
For what ever reason I was thinking the cable would be bigger, the industrial type.
Great skill set not breaking it, hell even seeing it! Great job. Glad the rain held off.
Thanks for the videos.
Need to watch Andrew Camarata. He'll show you how to do this in a quarter of the time. Andrew is the man.
I love Andrew's videos, and he is about to overtake Chris with his number of subscribers. Such an amazing operator
A lot better than that wannabe Andrew Camarata. He's not efficient, safe, does a lot of stuff half assed, uses old outdated junk equipment.
Great Job!
Getting more like England with all that rain 😆
Another good job done
How long have you been working for tim?
Dang Chris you are much loved and watched when I started watching only 3 people had liked now none had watched the video yet, and now 1 hour later over 230 comments 3 thumbs down and with 2350 views
Dammit Boy if you knew what you were doing you'd be dangerous, lol great vid Chris, really enjoy longer content !!!
Nice job 🇬🇧

Got half the job done.
Is this sky cam?? Hoping to see more of your ground work / pedal work..... can’t complain too much you have great smooth control skills
So, did the phone still work?
Love the way you rock in those pipe ends. The Downstream rock looked GREAT on this one.

Timmy needs a letsdig18 hoodie!
Way to handle that big pipe Timmy
I carry a 2-foot chain with a hook at each end. Works great for shortening a longer chain.
This is the first time that you have showed us a video of you doing away with a pond Lol
First time for everything :)
Nice work

Top job.
Somewhere there's a guy watching you do it right and going: "Oh, damn, THAT'S how I should'a built that pond..."
Your works excellent mate but I will say one thing.

Nice to watch it done right...
That’s called a slip balance rigging. Noticed after it slipped the culvert was balanced. 😂😂
You have a great helper here who thinks for you! 😊👍
Why can't you see him in the new videos?
Thank you.
Good job ...it turned out really well !
In the pipe trench, , you shot the upstream elevation and the downstream? To confirm you had the fall?

You must kick ass on those claw arcade games
I really want to know your opinion about those 2 bucket teeth pointing outwards.
I should've put mad skills!!! Nice.
what are culvert mfgr installation recommendations concerning depth?
Bucket master !
just wondering if you should of put the end of the pipe up against that concrete wall for a lower flow?
I live in NC and need a culvert pipe for my pond spillway. Where do you buy one of these pipes???
good work
