This only affects people in Alabama really, but a potential match up between Auburn and UAB so unfair. The schools are only 2 hours apart and many students who go to undergrad at one go to grad school at the other. Did Alabama have something to do with this? The Alabama AD is on the 2024 selection committee… just asking questions…and watching how UAB has been playing…. Is Alabama scared to play UAB? Lots of people in this state think so.. how embarrassing for Alabama to possibly lose to a school whose athletic department they tried to destroy.

Indiana State got left out of the entire tournament but Virginia gets in? That one was the most mind boggling to me. I can understand the push towards expansion but I wouldn’t go so far as to go 96 teams, that’s quite a reach. I’m not for expansion but if they did, then I’d say 72 teams would be the perfect medium to settle down issues with controversy as far as teams deserving to get in, feels like it’s usually 2-4 teams that get snubbed every year so 72 would make the most sense in my opinion.

The committee is a joke. They did not even use their own metrics to rank the field. St Johns had a KenPom rating of 25 and a NET of 32, but was not even in the 1st 4 out. Meanwhile UVA had a KenPom rating of 69! and a NET of 52 and got in. St Johns had a better resume than several of the teams getting in and were red hot down the stretch. They played 3 very close games against the best team in the country and the story of having Pitino back in the tournament would have been a gem. Why even keep track of these metrics if you are not going to use them?
Yet the committee said no. Big East with only 3 teams in is a joke. I can tell you right now, the NIT is going to be the better tournament this year. There are several teams in the NIT that are better than the bubble teams that got into the NCAA. TCU in is also a joke, same with Texas A&M.

@@Bravesfan12345 Michigan St and Texas A&M lost more games, Mississippi St lost as many. Both Mississippi St (30) and Texas A&M (44), were ranked lower than St Johns in the KenPom rankings. Then there is UVA, while they went 23-10, they had a KenPom almost 3 times higher than St Johns and only had TWO Q1 wins compared to St Johns 4. .TCU and Texas barely had better records and were also lower in the KenPom than St Johns. The committee says they use these metrics to determine the field and yet there are several instances where they ignored them. Seton Hall getting snubbed is also a joke.
