    My daughter who is 2 yrs old currently has been listening to this song since she was 1 yr old and sleeps to it. She has a name for this song, she calls it Aa mama. 🙂. It is indeed a soothing rendering.

    What a rendering of Dwijavanti! I don't know how many times I have listened to this. Listening to this, I recollect standing before Akhilandeswari temple and able to feel the breeze and sand particle there.
    Truly divine!

    i must have heard this more than 200 times. yet my penchant to listen to this again and again does not melt down. Some addiction to this tonal modulation of these excellent vibrations of these musicians has developed in my heart or head.

    Fell in love with Dwijavanti. Amazed by the way in which Trichur Brothers rendition progressed. Portions from 10th min simply superb. Repeatedly hearing since started listening.

      You are absolutely right. Infact I feel that percussion is not required for Vocal. Only Violin next to Tamburi is desired which was first introduced by Shri Deekshidar in a Concert in a Cutcheri in Chennai Patnam.

      This is basically a Hindustani Raaga Jujavanthi which Shree deekshidar introduced in Carnatic music. Probably there are no other kritis in this Raagam by Shri Sastrigal and Shri Thyagarajar. Balu

    Aha So peaceful. Really u start feeling violin and mridangam is just not necessary particularly for this raga with Hindustani touch. With just tanpura in the background it is like floating in a dreamy world.

      Dwijavanthi has been taken from Hindustani to Carnatic music. Its same in both streams.

    I was reminded of this wonderful Dwijavanti piece alapana by legend Madurai TN Seshagopalan. Just listen to his improvisations in charanam. For example, with the madhyamakala phases "Jambari sambhavithe" he goes on to sing in the drutha kalam....and what a wonderful effect! Similarly in "lambodhara guru guha" pharases also he introduces some rare sangathis. I really liked the rendition by Trichur brothers though.

      Without doubt this rendition by Trichur Bros. is great. But would request you to listen to the rendition of this kriti by Sivasri Skandaprasad. It is really more heart touching and more soulful. Perhaps this raga and the song are more suited to females' voice and even among them I wonder how many can get near Sivasri.
