#Inverted #GamingPC - Věda a technologie
If you thought my (over)dramatizations were super hawkward:
_mission accomplished_
You should have had a blonde girl in a shiny outfit pointing at the items and smiling like a 90s tv show.
Where are the X-mas RGB and Festive hats?
I have an inverted PC from OriginPC cause in my studio appt my PC is on my left. That's how my space is. It's Millenium chassis. I like it. In fact, OriginPC allows for four configs: standard, inverted, 90 degree standard, 90 degree inverted. How bout them apples.
I know it wouldn't exatly be fitting nor the form factor neither the pricey high-end rest of the build but MSI has the B450M MORTAR TITANIUM
for AM4 with white PCB if you are up for a little BIOS flashing for looks. Also the Gigabyte B550 vision d is a runner up with admittedly not white pcb but loads of white accent pieces with more appropriate bios and feature set.
The dramatization was spot on for some '90s commercial feels btw 10/10 meme game
It's a nice build man but i am worry about the gpu temperature since it's about above 3 exhaust fan. I could be wrong though.
This is how Australians build pc’s
I imagine an Australian build would look something like that
Am australian, can confirm
As an Australian can also confirm
A an aussie i am actually building soemthing close to this
damn dude I've heard similar jokes 1000 times but it's still hilarious xD
My brains trying to understand the inversion. Feels like Tenet 😩
... or inception.
Nolan just walked into the pitch meeting and says he wants to make a movie called Tenet.
The studio guy is all like ”What’s it about?”
”You wouldn’t understand, I need 120 million.”
I had a hp computer from 2009 that was inverted
@@isair81 “The movie was amazing, I’ll watch it now”
Such a good movie. Watched it yesterday lol.
Doesn't matter how well we think we've planned, almost every build likes to throw curve balls.
I turned my monitor upside down to finish this video
I'm actually really digging that case and the whole look of the build. I would honestly prefer my pc on the left side of my desk as well for headphone cables and stuff. Really cool overall, especially with the front panel io.
Would the GPU fans fight for air with the AIO fans? Or is there enough positive pressure as to not matter?
Wow! anyway at 10:19 - Hint; All the floor panels pop out.
I like inverted cases, Takes a little to get used to, then it all makes sense.
Thank you for doing a detailed video about doing an inverted build in this case! It really helps to see what kind of hurdles you'd actually run into during a build like this. I've been waiting for this case to start selling in Australia... For MONTHS but i don't think they'll come until end of Q1 2021.... Which means I've basically got an open test bench until then 😅
Thats a very clean build. Great video
and nice work!
WOW this looks like a lot of fun! Thanks for sharing. :) I don't think I have a single chassis that is capable of this right now, but I definitely plan to put myself through this hell at the earliest possible convenience. :)
Ah, nice to see a video on this. I also have this case and did an inverted build. I personally love the way it looks
Did you configure your radiator fans in pull or push configuration? If you are pushing air out, there may be a low pressure zone in between the GPU and the rad.
I had an Aerocool case like this, it was also one of the first cases to have an air duct for the power supply.
Hi Greg. I'm new to your channel. Started with the cleaning pc series and now I'm watching your past videos backwards or shall I say, inverted.
I did my first inverted build in 2000. It was a case mod, because I don't think anyone made an inverted case at the time. They're pretty fun.
This is just wierd.. My father has the same case and is doing an inverted build too for his zen 3 5600x + rtx 3080 lol. Its super wierd to look at but at the same time its pretty cool. What are the odds that you're doing it too? haha :)
Yes I have the same case and right now it's a standard build, but I'm going to do some upgrades this year and thinking of doing an inverted build this time around.
Id be worried about the top rad fans the GPU fighting for air.
they wouldn't fight for air because the aio is blowing air out not in so it wouldn't affect it
@@Azoidgames that's why he said he is afraid of them fighting for Air, because AiO and GPU are sucking for air in opposing directions. GPU sucks air down, AiO sucks air to the top. I hopefully will build an inverted build this year and will try both intake and exhaust fans on top to measure temp differences. But with a radiator it's definitely better to push the hot air out instead of blowing it on the GPU.
@@Badtzism I see
@@Badtzismhave you tested it now?
Im in the same situation but i don't use watercooling just a standard CM Hyper 212 Evo.
So based on your testing, is top fans as intake better for inverted cases ?
My old 2012 HP pre-build is actually inverted too. Kinda annoying to plug into the motherboard I/O since its lower than usual. But I use a PCI USB extension card so its not that much annoying to plug into that one
The build looks cool but I'm curious on the GPU temps for this build. From the looks of it, and unless I'm misremembering, it seems like the radiator fans are in an exhaust config while the GPU fans right below it are pulling air towards it. I would think for optimal airflow you'd either want the radiator fans in an intake config; a pure air-cooled build; or perhaps go full JayzTwoCents and put a waterblock on the GPU.
Awesome build! Might have to try to replicate this.
Question, that watch is awesome.. what brand is that?
Thank you for doing an inverted build in this case so I know for sure it is something I do not want to do when I get the case lol
Has the iGame RTX 3070 Ultra W or 80 or 90 versions been released yet? or available in the US at all yet?
Being someone that needs a left sided case for my desk, it's nice to have an option that doesn't clock the best view against a wall.
Everyone wishing someone got them a vision 3080 for christmas
My case is inverted and rotated, so the I/o is on top and GPU sag is turned into GPU drag as it hangs in front of the front intake fans. Bought as my space demands the case is on the left of the monitor so side panel is up against a wall, but mainly for wanting top I/O instead of fighting round the back to see where to plug in USB peripherals, drives and pro audio equipment. My inverted build is in a Sharkoon REV 200 and I love it.
Lesson learned: if you are going to invert your build then plan all the other components beforehand to match it. I did wonder whether you could have sourced a longer PCIe extension and mounted the GPU vertically at the front. Although the cable routing for that would not be good.
Nice built Greg sure it has great performance. I’m not sure if I can ever get used to seeing upside down logos though.
My first PC I built was a inverted case it was by Silverstone - The Raven 03 which had the Air Penetrator Fans. I had a i5 2500k clocked at 4.5Ghz in that Build which had a equipped GTX 570. Air Cooled build CPU never got over 60c at load. As my first build fans were pretty loud to cool things down. Then for the 2nd rig, which I am now using is a Corsair 600c which is a hardline watercooled build. Runs a i7 5930k @ 4.3Ghz at load never goes over 52c. Equipped with a FE GTX 1080 Ti stock settings at load never exceeds 40c.
I like the look of the inverted cases I like a challenge and I like my builds to look unique to everyone elses. I'm in between two minds to keep my 600c or go for another case as I'm in the process of upgrading to the 5900x w/ RTX 3080. Biggest advantage they have is that they generally do keep the CPU/GPU cooler than the traditional cases due to the heat transfer can more efficiently be expelled from the case.
I really like this channel. Its always somewhat of a surprise XD
Nice video, this case seems very high quality. Will they make a non inverted version ?
Great content as always Greg
Just checked..the mobo tray can be rotated.
This case is awesome and so versatile, please do a review
Greg - I looked at a similar case but my OCD wouldn't allow me to put text upside down and live with it. So I went with the darkFlash DLV22.
Left side case - check
90* rotated motherboard, so the GPU hangs top to bottom, IO's are all at the top of the case with a nifty cover and strain relief for them all.
did you get a chance to test thermals on this? i'm running a similar..ish setup, but my GPU is aio cooled and my CPU is aircooled
Hey Greg, gonna get this case as an inverted case is the only way I'll be able to see my pc parts with the weird way my place is layed out.
Quick question, you abandoned the vertical GPU cos of the sag. Do you think something like the cooler master universal vertical GPU mount would solve this issue? Wondered if it would be strong enough to prevent the sag or if it being mounted upside down would a big issue
“This build is sure to turn heads” Yep, I’m turning my head right now trying to read all that upside down font
Wait so the top rad is set up to be exhaust right? But then you have the graphics card pulling air the opposite direction..
The most important thing in this build video is how you install the liquid cooler and why (liquid cooler troubleshooting). Excellent !
The other is the tip about the fan speed. But if you have such a good motherboard (like B550 Tomahawk) with many fan headers, where is the point of not using them?
I think it's pretty cool but one thing I noticed is you have the radiator fans pointing up working against the graphics card airflow you could have put it to blow in so that the graphics card gets extra air or you could have just used an air cooler and set the top as an extra intake
I can't wait for the 801-802 front panel conversion kit coming in Q1 2021!
Really useful and playful review. My case is the same inverted thing now and this video helped me much! I have also assembled hundreds of cases (my past job) but this one is really different. :-)
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching.
How have temps been for both GPU and CPU?
But ... why tho?
Are the temps better in inverted builds?
Or is it just a "you dont need it, but you can have it anyway" thing?
I´m so confused
Reminds me of my old BTX Dell XPS systems that were weirdly backwards, but worked.
perfect when your desk has no room to the right side. I had to do it for a previous build but had to drill out the mobo tray to invert it. now I just run a micro atx case to see all my beauty.
feel inverted case quite good tho since heat from gpu will pass less on cpu or am i wrong?
Colorful CVN B550M GAMING FROZEN V14 is an all white PCB I used it recently in a white/pink build
Aside from some of the specific components and the white finish, Greg just built my current PC. Inversion takes some getting used to, but I like it.
I have an inverted build I put together about 9 or 10 years ago. It's definitely different, although on mine you'd never know since it has a solid side panel.
The interesting thing about left side cases is that the GPU shroud faces upwards so you can actually see it, instead of the backplate up. But why does he use a riser to mount it vertically??? Defeats the whole point of a left case
Man I'm starting a white build right now watercooling it and I have the gigabyte b550 vision d. That board would have fit pretty good with this build.
i thought you meant 'pc parts on outside, structural support on the inside' :D
I love this arangement - builded this way couple times using CASE of DELL XPS 630/625 and one XPS 730.
this way GPU is more visible (fans) and AIO pump is always on bottom.
Good vid. It made an excellent job of convincing me never to buy an inverted case! Lol!
Should have tried the vertical mount integrated into the case, I feel that would have looked alright, but airflow against the glass could be the reason you didn't
Is there Not a problem with the airflow between GPU and AIO Fans????
Appreciate the video, but wouldn't it make more sense to put the AIO at the front and have the top fans as intake? That way both the AIO and the GPU get fresh air. Right now it seems as though the CPU and GPU coolers are both fighting for air and the bottom front fans aren't doing all that much.
I use the Corsair 600C Inverse ATX Full-Tower Case.
Lots of room and great air flow!
So I just tried to build my new / first pc I tested my psu it works fine fan spinning when plugged in the tester, but when I plug it in the mobo nothing happens anyone got any ideas?
Nice build.
It would be interesting to see how the case will look when the video card is installed vertically. And find out how well it will cool.
I still use an old inverted micro atx HP case with now alder lake! To bad there is not many inverted cases out there.
Why is the top exhousting when the GPU is pulling in air? Wouldn''t it be more logic to exhoust front and pull top and backside?
I like my be quite case but as a pc building newbie it has been giving me a lot of trouble. Like the top of my case has only really small slits for noise reduction so I think I’m going to have to put the radiator in the front slot and the psu shroud is a read headache too. I should of went basic
I've had an inverted setup out of an old HP case my 3070 and my Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black cooler are much to large for it so now my case doesn't close 🙃
The graphics card needs air, as its upside down it sucks air from the top. But you have up the top radiator as an exhaust. So both the graphics card and the top radiator is blowing air against each other. This is bad which will cause higher gpu temp.
what is the brand of the vertical gpu holder?
Not only does the ram look amazing they sound amazing being installed. Meanwhile my non rgb tforce looks janky and was terrible to installed
that case is sick, when is the next build ?
Those upside down words kill me, definitely not for me lol
Who is messed up, the gpu or the case, how come is upside down?
I wonder if you could front mount the AIO in this case instead of on top.
That's crazy bro but I can see the temps should be good
That black and white like pretty nice
I use the inverted setup due my room distribution... the only way to put my pc and not mess up with my desk is at my left hand so inverted is the way to see all RGB setup... also I removed the front panel (Silent Base 801) to see 3 frontal RGB fans for the AIO (Corsair H150Pro). The only problem is if you put the radiator at top the hoses cannot reach the CPU!! and also need to be careful how big it is the graphics card.. because is super tight due to the AIO tubes.
put hte aio in front tubes down, thats what I did, what what about fan config? gpu pulls air in but have 3 exhaust on top?
I've been watching so many history videos recently that I read "inverted" (in the thumbnail) as a random russian word.
weird but so right considering the hottest component is the GPU for years now. what is weird though are the unnecessarily large cases
You , Could you have used the vertical gpu mount bracket off the front fan mounts and used a long riser cable 👍👍
And then a hdmi or display extension cable also through a pcie cover .
Hey Greg, what's going on with the desk pc?
can you get the gpu fans to spin.. the other way?
When I was shopping for X570/B550 boards to go in my White O11D, I went with the Tomahawk as well. White Vengeance rather than Dom, but looks good. Throw enough white at it and you can barely notice the board :D
I was really impressed after seeing GN's review of the black model, and but the white really is the icing on the cake. Gorgeous case.
The only concern I'd have for anyone looking to replicate this build is with the fan placement: 2x140mm intake on the front vs 4x120mm exhaust on top and back is going to give a negative pressure environment (if you stick to using the fan hub). This could be balanced out by manually controling the fans, so it's not a big deal. The bigger concern is having the GPU so close to the exhaust fans at the top. You're gonna have some funky airflow going on as the fans compete for fresh air. With a bit of luck, the rear exhaust may grab a good bit of the wash from the GPU, letting more of the intake from the front go up to feed the GPU. But, it's more likely that there'll be a lot of recirculation going on, especially as air will be pulled in through the perforated PCI blanks. This is where I was actually hopeful that the vertical mount would work out, since it would be easier to feed the GPU fans and their wash would head straight for the top and rear exhaust :)
I have an Inter Tech Eterno A6 Superior-RTX case which is inverted. The case allows 1x 120mm fan in the front, 2x 120mm fans on the top, and 1x 120mm fan on the rear.
What you mentioned with top exhaust and gpu fans competing against each other makes sense. So i wonder if in my situation i should install the front and top fans as intake fans, and only the rear fan as an exhaust fan? This would give me a 3:1 intake/exhaust ratio. The problem i see with this setup is the dust buildup because the top has no dust filter on my case.
The second option i thought about is front and rear fans installed as intake fans and top fans installed as exhaust fans. Maybe this would be able to exhaust the hot gpu air at the top?
Thx for your answer
I've got an Antec case from 2006 with the same integrated fan controls lol. We've come full circle
As a Australian with a inverted matx build built in the silverstone rl08. Welcome to the club lol.
You should call this build “Maverick”.
nice casing i like it...
Great looking case... would never but it with everything being flipped around and upside down... I'd do a custom wall mount build or something before I' d have all the test upside down.
I feel like this *precise* build would have looked better in the classic orientation + vertical bracket. Eventhough the inverted build can work great. It's more those specific components. Maybe an "Asatek-like" AIO; or a dark rock to stay in the be quiet ecosystem would have helped (painted white? I don't think they have a factory white one).
I love seeing you build in this case in the same layout (although I had the 801) and having literally the exact same problems I did.
Makes me feel like I'm not an idiot.
I still have a reverse ATX case from like 2012, the Azza Genesis. I actually liked it.
I feel loke for the aio, you coild have mointed the fans in a pull config instead of pushing through the radiator. Would have given you a bit of length on the tube so you could run it around the ram and not block the rgb. Also might have looked a bit better when it sit parallel to the gpu, add a bit of that straight line uniformity.
Had my first inverted build a few years ago and I don't intend to change back lol.
Side panel removal needs to be universal in ALL cases. OMFG! Helllooooo!!!
Isnt the gigabyte vision D or something a white board?
The ultimate Aussie build
It's a bit Vain, but I always black shrink wrap the Ketchup and Mustard on the HD Audio cable. That one would drive me nuts. Nice to attempt something different but I thought you would scrap the Idea at a couple of different points in the video. For daily use conventional layout would be better.
I think you should turn that be quiet cover upside down so it matches everything else 😛
i think the radiator and GPU fans air will fighting against each other, is it right?
Gpu: the air is mine
Pureloop: hahahaha funny
Holy crap... that's some build when the PSU is the biggest box lol
does anyone know of any inverted cases other than BeQuiet?
Thanks Greg, I had to take aspirin from my brain not registering the inversion
