If you’d like to see three different methods of carrying a newborn with straight straps, you can see these here. The different methods are:
0:00 Straight straps clipped behind the neck
6:21 Straight straps pre-clipped, baby carefully lowered into the carrier
10:53 Straight straps pre-clipped, baby in position, then straps passed over head
Video made with a newborn-sized doll; demonstrating how to adjust and perform safety checks. The video demonstrates using the Ergobaby Omni Breeze in Graphite Grey. The same method is applicable to all Omni Breeze/Dream carriers and also to the Ergobaby Omni 360 and Ergobaby Omni 360 Cool Mesh

Thanks for the video. I have this on our babylist, but the clip on the top back seems cumbersome to do. Kind of leaning towards the Baby Bjorn now.

Which carrier is right for you is hugely personal preference (and there are many, many more options besides Baby Bjorn and Ergobaby). It really is worth trying on a few carriers, with a carrying consultant, to work out which is right for you
With the Omni Breeze there are lots of ways of clipping it up. Some people like clipping behind the neck, others find this awkward and prefer passing it over the head and tightening. Others prefer crossing the straps. So it’s pretty versatile.
Some people prefer the clips on the Baby Bjorn Harmony as they’re all at the front. Others feel like there are way too many clips.
Other popular carriers for newborns are Mamaruga Zensling and Zebulo, Tula Explore, Kahubaby, Nuna Cudl
Plus stretchy wraps are still the most commonly chosen option for a brand new baby by customers in store - progressing onto more structured buckle carriers when baby is older
There really is no one carrier that’s better than any other though. They all suit different people differently 😊
