INFJ and INFP personality types are apart of the 16 personality types stated by the MBTI test and often get confused for one another.
Being so similar, and both showing signs you have the rarest personality type - the INFJ and INFP difference is sometimes difficult to point out. These personality types exhibit intuitive, introvert, and feeling aspect, however, they are set apart when looking at the last function. INFJ traits are lead by judgement, while INFP traits are led by perception.

I'm an INFP, I love INFJS. I have 3 in my life despite the rarity. Our deep feelings, strong moral compass and interests in the arts is a beauty we all share. I have a scientific mindset so was confused but INFPs can be empirical, logical thinkers too.
I am an INFJ-A
I'm an INFP my fiance is an INFJ. I've never had a better relationship than I've had with him. Somehow we are so comparable, even when we have disagreements we are able to get through them without major fighting. We are both quick to understand and respect each others feelings.
Why we could be logical thinkers too? I am interested.
As an INFJ having an INFP close friends. I can agree on the decisiveness, I tend to be there for her, inputing my opinions until I she see the bigger picture which I know whe will. We share this passion in the arts and creative and self expression which is very important for our happiness.
It's true that INFJ would care less about validation of other people towards their craft but would care about how people would look, not in a judgmental way but just silently admiring people physically.
INFP would be much happier would validation from other towards their craft but would not mind how people look physically.
INFJ x INFP friendship is great.

Most pictures and video clip of INFP and INFJ are people wearing suits that looks work for co-operate or office workers. Believe me, all INFP and INFJ will not like wearing suits 😊
I thought I was an INFJ after watching these videos. Taking the test confirmed. I’m normal, ( mom), and I don’t need medication! How freeing it is to just be myself. 😀
I have taken a personality test and the results show that I am 50% INFJ and 50% INFP, slightly inclined towards INFJ. After watching this video, I found out that I share core traits of both types.
I was typing nearly the same thing. I tested borderline INFJ/INFP with J winning out at 51 over 49. I was laughing because I was agreeing with both sides too! Yup! I do it like INFJ a lot... but I also do it like INFP too when the situation calls for it!
I feel like I'm somewhere in the middle myself sometimes I utilize both sides given the situation
You can't have two personalities.I am an INFP and we care about others too because we are guided by our values.

Best video I’ve ever seen. Now I know for sure I’m an infj and not an infp. Had a hard time figuring that one out. But in all the examples you gave I related to infj.
@Nikki-fx6yy There's a good chance that you now know that "for sure" you are an INFJ because in every example he gave, INFJs were evaluated more positively than INFPs. The bias in his analysis was subtle, but quite noticeable. I am willing to bet this guy is himself an INFJ. I can't think of one thing he said in this video about INFJs that could be perceived as negative, or undesirable; not the case for the INFP. What is particularly troublesome, is that most of the distinctions he gave were trivial, shallow and too generalized.
For a more insightful evaluation of the two "types", there are two articles on the Truity website that provide more clarity and depth: "INFP vs INFJ: How to Tell These Personality Types Apart" and "Judging vs. Perceiving". Truity also has a CZcams channel. (To be clear, I am not affiliated with Truity. As a decades-long user of Meyers-Briggs, I have found Truity to be one of the better free resources.)
@@Gwen3344 well 7 months ago when I commented this I was new to MBTI. Looking back at it, I couldn’t agree more with your comment. More so, after noticing this pattern of INFJs always being presented in a better light than INFPs I went and researched some more as I wasn’t so sure anymore. I eventually ended up getting my answer from an MBTI expert that I am in fact an INFJ. The expert herself was an INFP and she actually gave me more information about the differences which aren’t as biased as you see online. INFJs and INFPs both are super empathetic and creative types and have a lot in common, I’m glad I see the real differences better now than I saw them few months ago 🙂
@@Nikki-fx6yy Hi Nikki, Glad you got the clarification you needed. Self-knowledge is the greatest possession we have in order to live a meaningful life. It's the last area where we want to be confused.
FWIW: As an INFP, in my initial experience with MBTI, I also had the same challenge in making the distinction -- in some cases seeming like an INFJ. They are the two types that are the most difficult to distinguish. Personally, two things eventually gave me clarity:
(1) Recognizing that the nature of the field I worked in (IT) demanded dominance of the more INFJ-like qualities, and so I seemed more like an INFJ;
(2) Recognizing the very real difference in how the two types respond to structure and make decisions -- with the INFJ finding confidence in structure, and the INFP being frustrated by structure and routine; the INFJ being a more deliberative decision maker, the INFP having a strong preference towards "winging it".
Of course, there are other distinctions, but these were the two that stood out for me, and nailed it home for me. Anyway ... thanks for sharing. All the best to you and yours!

My sister is an INFJ and i'm a INFP and the eldest by two years,
I took a business communications course during my undergrad where I first stumbled upon the Meyers-Briggs personality types test. I was the only student in a class of about 48 that was an INFP. At the time, I felt like it was something that was wrong, though many years later I suppose I can just smile at this difference.
This is the best one I've seen so far!
I am one of these personality types, although I'm still confused as to which one. Every time I take the test I get either one of these results. Maybe I'll find out one day, and maybe not.

Which one is the best
Still can't decide? The last bit confused me the most. I'm INFP, but i do care about how people look, being the artist type? So really can't decide which one i am?

They're similar but just like INTJs and INTPs are, so it should be possible to make the difference between the two like it is for these two. I don't think I hear as much confusion between INTJs and INTPs though.
I did the test 3 times. INFP. But I don’t feel myself as an INFP but INFJ. So, I’m an INFP on the paper and an INFJ in my guts 😂 I can’t be in a box
I realized the description where infps look for external validation is not actually negative. I don't need you to know I made something, I just want you to enjoy and find peace in what I made. There is nothing wrong with that. I see people being outright hateful towards it.
The problem is this world forces you to monetize everything. I don't need the old lady I helped cross the street to know my name. I don't need my boss to know about it. I just want people to stop assuming I'm selfish or looking for attention because I am capable of valuing my individuality.
When it comes to infps, their excitement for their creativity and ability to make things can be childlike. This causes them to be wrongly judged for taking pride in work that they are passionate about by people who are prone to making assumptions of others. My infj friend has done this to me a couple times. It's heartbreaking when you believe the people around you don't have faith in your character and sees you as incapable because they decided to.

As a true Infp this describes me to a “t” lol
But I will say when it comes to the appearance thing I’m an I NFJ personality usually I will put as much effort into my looks as how I’m feeling that day so if I wake up and I have my period and really bad cramps I am not gonna spend as much time in the mirror but if I wake up and got my eight hours of sleep that I need and I’m feeling good I’m gonna put on that make up and put all that work into my hair to make it look perfect!
I have found myself in an identical relationship. I have a graduate degree in Biology, hers is in Psychology. She seems to be INFJ to my plausible INFP?

When these videos tries to explain the difference between these two it’s just so wrong🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️ if you read the MBTi profile infp is the helper, more than the infj. And they have statistic higher iq and can be analytical. They do more for other then themself. It says that infp sees the BIG picture! And think about other feelings over themselves. This videos are so wrong. Even the creator of MBTI is an analytical infp! These videos are so wrong. Infp have high moral and important for them to be fair.
