  • Yes this is actually genuine. This is how Spider-Man 4 would've been like.
Plot: Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) and Mary Jane Watson's (Kirsten Dunst) relationship is thrown into turmoil by the arrival of Peter's new colleague Felicia Hardy (Anne Hathaway). While attempting to navigate his feelings for Felicia, Peter must also battle the Vulture, a criminal mastermind who plans to seize control of New York City's criminal underworld, unaware that the Vulture is Adrian Toomes (John Malkovich), Felicia's adoptive father and Peter's new boss at the Daily Bugle newspaper. Peter accidentally kills Toomes halfway through and Felicia adopts the identity of Vulturess to seek revenge. She defeats Peter, but spares his live and moves to Europe, while MJ moves to L.A. after learning that Peter cheated on her, and Peter ragequits being Spider-Man again.
    From the vimeo description:
"One of a half dozen animatics I produced for the ill-fated 4th Raimi Spider-Man Studio politics, creative differences and bad internet reactions (to John Malkovich as Vulture) caused the plug to be pulled December of 2009, early in the prep stage. However, one month later, Sony moved forward with Andrew Garfield reboot...."

@@doraeguyakaneddie6586 I agree with you on Superman being ironic, but Stan Lee always intended to write Spider-Man (more specifically Peter Parker) as an Everyman character. In Superman’s case I think it came about later when the writers realized that he didn’t have much personality. In the early Superman comics, he barely had any character at all. People just liked it because they were thrilled by all the incredible powers he had. But when that wore off, they realized that he’s essentially a god and is pretty hard to relate to. So to fix that, they made him more grounded, flawed, and in turn, human.

After all, Tobey has gotten older so the same story couldn't really work. In fact, many of the actors are a lot older now. So it would have to either be animated or a new story. Perhaps a mix of Kraven's Last Hunt and Renew Your Vows. Spider-Man: Blue could also serve as inspiration as in that story Kraven brings together various animal-themed villains to test/weaken Spider-Man. It could be like a Knightfall situation.

Many people don't realize that the vulture was planned to be the villain long before Raimi planned spiderman 4. Before Sony Interfered, in 2005, Sam raimi had 2 villains in mind for spiderman 3: the vulture and sandman. The story was about vulture and sandman teaming up to escape prison to get their revenge on Spiderman. Spiderman would offer a truce to vulture who would refuse and would end up getting killed in their fight in the final battle. The film also would've had the forgiveness theme similar t the final cut of Spiderman 3. Apparently all that didn't happen and Raimi wanted to use vulture in spiderman 4 but that didn't happen either because of Sony and Avi Arad.

@@pacermusicmaker7930 As someone who loves homecoming(I also love the Raimi movies, don’t kill me!) I thought the mcu vulture was a great villain. They could’ve easily made Adrian dumb, but they didn’t, he immediately figured out that Peter was Spider-Man the first time they met outside of battle. Adrian also had a good reason to do what he does, he’s not evil, he just want to provide for his family, and selling weapons is the only way he found to be able to after losing the cleanup after the invasion. I loved the mcu’s version of the vulture and I think it was the best execution for the story they were going to tell. But man would I have loved to see him in Sm4. From the small bits that have surfaced, it would’ve been brutal, and is almost too hard to think about Toby getting messed up in that scene, though it could’ve been his best performance in the whole series if it had been made. It still would be possible to make Spider-Man 4 IMO, as long as they lean in hard on Peter being older and dealing with more adult problems. As of now, at least Sm3 was a satisfying ending to end the story, that doesn’t need a 4th movie, but it would help it out greatly.

No, it wouldn't be rated R. If you really look at it, there's very little gore, and most of it has been done in other PG-13 films. The glass in Peter's back could easily just be stuck in the suit but not really in him. The stab in the shoulder can also be pulled off without too much blood and viscera. You mostly just see the blade go in and through the glass behind Peter but without blood. There are plenty of ways you can keep the illusion of grit without actually showing the grisly details.
