    These are some of the most realistic silver feathers I have seen made on various tutorials. Thank you so much for including the gauge of sheet and wire, saw blade size, and product numbers. I will definitely be making some feathers.

      you can see much of my work on Instagram. I sell my work through my website, but right now everything is sold out. I try to release new collections every month or 2. Thank you for asking!

    Wow, you make it look so easy to follow! Beautiful details!
    First time I've seen a piece wet while using a radial disc. Is it to keep the piece cool while polishing?

    • @ringgoldnic
      @ringgoldnic  Před měsícem +1

      Not necessarily. It's more about me being lazy and not wiping the piece off. But it doesn't seem to harm it...

    So interesting Nicole!! I never use easy solder! I always learned to work in hard and medium. Do you often always use easy in a full project??

    • @ringgoldnic
      @ringgoldnic  Před měsícem

      Great question. My students are often surprised by this. When I first began smithing (I'm self-taught), I didn't know there was anything besides easy solder, so I learned how to depend on heat sinks to prevent solder flow. Now, if my work is sculptural, I use hard, medium, and then easy. But if everything sits flush (such as this feather, or a leaf...) then I stick with easy for the entire project.
