My old Bogen/Manfrotto 3021BPro has the same functionality but you must pull the center column up and out of the collar completely then reinsert it horizontally. On my 3021 you can also insert the column upside down in the collar if you need to get REALLY close to the 'ground'. I'd be lost without this function for macro work. (Full frame digital stills) Glad to see Manfrotto is still incorporating it in their new designs.
After seeing you vids about the Canon HF G25 I bought one. I have got the Manfrotto 290 Dual to before I saw this vid. I shuddered when you said for stills set up. I have add a Manfrotto MVH500AH now, I also got the Neewer Tripod Leveling Base. Now to start my unboxing hobby. btw never used the G25 instructions just your vids....thanks
I sold the XA20. This was shot on the Sony AXP33 which I never sold after reviewing it because it fell over on the tripod in a strong wind and slightly damaged the tripod mount. Actually it works fine which is a testament to its build quality. Shot in 4K then rendered to HD so that I could do full-res crops in for the close ups at HD.
Hi David - we were in contact about a year ago about the Canon Legria HF G25 camcorder (for filming at open mic music events). I wanted this camera because it has an external mic output... and you suggested a good shotgun unidirectional mic to go with it (sorry, forgotten which one). I have a vague memory that you also said I'd need some kind of junction box too. I've tried to locate all our correspondence - but can't seem to track it down... do you have any record/memory of it? I'm ready to buy the gear now.. but wonder if it's still the best choice etc. Best, Roy

Hey there, Looking into getting an AX53 along with picking up a tripod for some still CZcams videos, but also some outdoor panning shots. I love the sideways functionality of the 290 dual. Would a 502 fluid head be what I need for everything? Should I go with the 3 way or ball head? Or multiple? Going to be just starting out, so I'm a newbie with all of this. Thanks and subscribed!
A ball head is no good for video work (other than fixed static shots). Get a nice fluid head. I haven't used the 502 but I think it's supposed to be OK. Make sure you get a good solid tripod. Cheap tripods aren't worth the money!

Your point being..? Regardless, this model was released I think just last August so it's a recent addition to their range.
