I have them on my 2010 Infiniti G37x sedan and I love them, they are made in Germany, very high quality, installation was the breeze and they perform very well. Now I ordered them for my recent car, the 2016 Infiniti Q70L AWD sedan.

Great video young brother. I agree whole heartedly.
I had AVS on my Civic in-channel with 3M tapes. While it looked great, I hated the fitment. It wasn't as snug and tight fitting enough as there was a little give to it. It kept triggering my passenger window from closing properly. No matter how I adjusted it, within a few weeks, the same issue would arise again. It got so annoying to the point where I hesistated opening my passenger window at all. Right before Winter, I knew I had to make a change. So I ripped out the AVS and went with WeatherTech. Much pricier, but so worth it. Quality comes at a price. You really get what you pay for.
Aesthetically, the AVS looked better to me. But fitment and quality- wise, Weathertech is the way to go. No need for double sides tapes so you can re-adjust it, if needed until it seats properly.
It's been over 4 months and no issues at all. I can open and close my windows without getting all paranoid like before with the AVS. 😅

After watching a bunch of reviews of different brands it seemed that the WeatherTech, while more expensive, were a cut above the competition. With that I ended up getting WeatherTech for my Scion xB and I couldn't be happier. The WT are worth every dollar.

I have had the AVS in the past and they didn’t last very long and would crack or break after a year or two although the rear window ones lasted longer. I attribute that to not rolling down the windows as often. Thought it was me, until I got Weather Tech ones they are much better quality and hopefully they will last much longer.

Having a 2024 f250 some options were limited in aftermarket accessories as of yet. Unknowingly I purchased a low profile hood bug deflector which 3m'd down to the hood and would do nothing for deflection. I then ordered the AVS per my nephews advice which mechanically connected. Spend a few more $$ for free shipping, I figured add side window deflectors. EGR, AVS, or Weathertech, something told me get the Weathertech and no taping. Attempting zero "tape mount" accessories now in order to be able to revert back easily without mess or screwing up paint.

They are the inside track low profile and look like they came from the factory. My third set over the years. Same positive results. Sorry to hear of your miserable experience. For the money I’d encourage folks to try the AVS First. My only gripe is the all too loud white AVS badge on each front unit. A black sharpie took care of that.

    • @HaiTran

I actually sold my Tacoma! But I was running the APS until the end. As warned in the video, the hardware did rust but it was very minor. Pretty much anywhere that was not covered in paint, began to rust but again, very minor. If you buy them, just make sure all hardware surfaces are covered in paint to avoid future headaches. The boards themselves don’t rust. I would still recommend them 👍🏽

I concur with your comments re: AVS shipping/packaging. I got their front (hood) bug deflector and the AVS badge/logo had come off in shipping and rubbed against the plastic such that it arrived with little scratches around the location the badge used to be. I was thrilled there was no badge - I didn't black out my truck just to have bright logos all over it. I'm not a sponsored NASCAR driver. But the bad part was the quality control (or lack thereof).

One would think since the weathertech goes all the way down to the window, it would block more air from entering underneath the vent when driving? My avs ones I had were very loud and noisy. I'm looking for the quietest for my new vehicle. The WIND differences between brands should be a MAJOR marketing STRATEGY IN ADVERTISEMENT, AND ON PACKAGING? I want to let everyone know about my experience with Auto Ventshade. I installed a set on my 2008 chevy trailblazer in 2008. A couple of weeks ago the most important one(driver front) broke going through a car wash.Remembering they had a "lifetime" warranty , I reached out to their customer service , explaining the situation.First reply from them wanted a purchase receipt,i wrote back , not available , 14 years ago, they asked for a picture,i sent one, 2 days later I had a complete replacement set. HOLY F'IN SH#T. WHAT COMPANY ON THIS PLANET WOULD DO THAT???? THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN MY LIFE..2 sidenotes. first the tape they used was still rock solid , second ,I recently lost one of my weather tech ,no tape vent visors , no idea how it just blew away. I will be contacting them to see what kind of CS they have.

Thanks for sharing this vid! Which would you recommend more, in-channel guards or out-channel?? Don't mind the out-channel but when it was time to change, it was a pain. Had to scrape off a lot of the adhesive off the door trim. I have a 2 week old Tacoma and don't want that to happen again. So would the in-channel be a better option?

I have weathertechs on my 4Runner. They are pretty nice, add a bit of wind noise, but love that I can leave my windows open an inch in hot weather and vent some interior heat without anyone knowing the windows are open if I leave the vehicle. Also nice for situations where you are sitting in a parked car in the rain and want some ventilation. Mine are 5 years old and still look and work like new. You get what you pay for.

Any problems with your Toyota auto up feature for the window switch? With no ventshades my window hit the gasket and backed down automatically. It did this on 3 degree day. Had to manually force it up with switch. Toyota said it's not covered under the plan and I had to pay for a new gasket. Would this create more problems down the line. My window i use every day, and that must work on my car. I bought AVS shades but havent put them on due to a small dent on the metal that goes to the roof from an apple.

    • @HaiTran
      @HaiTran  Před 4 lety +1

Wait, the car damaged itself due to poor design and that’s not covered by a warranty? I would’ve been pissed if they told me that. It’s too late now but in the future, check with multiple dealerships until one will cover it under warranty. That’s some poor customer service. As far as with a vent shade, I can’t guarantee anything. I had issues with the auto-up when using the AVS but not the Weathertech. Your situation may differ as you already have prior issues.

No longer the quality they once were - looks like they want to lower quality to compete with others. (And put more money in their pockets).

Have your window down just enough to fit the visor where it needs to go install it and slowly roll the window up have someone operate the window while you apply outward pressure on the visor once up leave the window up for a day or so and it will be perfect
