The add-on is not on the disc and the cover is spoiled with a circle and an inscription on top with information about the DLC, and besides, the new edition is more expensive than a set from a regular edition at a discount and purchasing the DLC separately.
P.S. Judging by the video in USA version the back cover was also damaged, it’s good that in the European edition the back cover is normal.

I can confirm that after installing the PS5 disc version of the new Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree (PEGI edition) without the internet connection, the game version is 1.10. Actually the latest patch that was released before the DLC came out, so at least something. Fingers crossed that after they patch the game even more and fix new issues that will surely show up, they will release the full complete edition physically again.🤞
I doubt it. It's a problem with playstation that they make you release the whole game again as a full package with separate achievements in order for it to be complete on the disc. Happened with Cyberpunk 2077's physical edition as well.
@@NeroDMC-jw6hfThey did a complete edition of Horizon Forbidden West, and I believe Alan Wake 2 will have the dlc on disc. So maybe there would be an Elden Ring complete edition down the road.

@@NeroDMC-jw6hfCDPR did a DLC on disc version of The Witcher 3. Fromsoft did a DLC on disc of all 3 Dark Souls games. Each received 1, 3, and 2 DLCs respectively. This "Shadow of the Erdtree Edition" not having DLC on disc is a joke since they've done it with every single game before.
Also, they do not make you have a separate achievement list. That's just a flat-out lie. No game has a separate trophy list for a complete edition. The only game I can think is that does is The Walking Dead: The Final Season on PS4. The disc and digital versions have 2 separate trophy lists. But it's not like Telltale basically shut down at that point and Skybound took over finishing the game...
ELDEN RING + DLC could easily fit on the PS5s massive storage discs.
I’m really wondering why the game was re-released with the new content as a voucher rather than on-disc. Fromsoft does have a solid history of re-releasing games with stuff ON DISC. Old Hunters, Fire Fades, Scholar of the First Sin… all these come to mind.
They decided to screw thier fans. They really don't have a excuse to why they did this not really.

I guess I found out why the DLC is now only included as a code.
The reason is probably Sony again.
Sony demands money from the studios if they release a Goty Edition where the data is included on the Bluray. According to Sony's opinion and specifications, this is a new game and fees will be charged again. That's why many studios save these fees and include the normal Bluray, for which they have already paid the fees to Sony, and include the DLC via code, for which they have already paid the fees because the DLC is already available in the store and can also be purchased there.
In short, you can thank Sony and indirectly force the studios to no longer release a real Goty Edition but rather with a code or leave it complete.
For the players ;) Thanks Sony, just shows how shitty you've become again and not a bit better than MS.

It's and newer version the original didn't take up 96gb like this one. The original only took up like 65gb on the disc

I'm inclined to think yes. The reason why Xbox games have been having more discs lately is that they still use 50GB Blu-ray discs, whereas PS5 games use 100GB UHD discs. Considering the original release was one disc on Xbox, I assume this version includes the latest updates since it's now 2 discs. PS5 is only 1 disc because it can store more data but almost certainly has the same content.

@K7TZ no never because they lazy and they know it? They know people don't like this voucher crap code. I only have the ps4 version so I never bought the ps5 version at all. People want a complete game in the disc no excuse unfortunately for them they don't care. For example the dragon ball z game's they just released for ps5 versions they didn't add the season characters in the damn disc. So to me what was the point in releasing it again without adding the characters in it they have space in the disc so what's up with that. To me it's plain and simple it's a scam ever heard of bandai namco now call it bandai scamco lol.

For those crying abt vouchers, the base game is on the disc, not the DLC though. It’s bcz of PlayStation certification policies, it’s just easier to put a code on the voucher and not bother adding it on the game disc, prompting a re-certification of the base game itself. It’s just policy work around.
It's still bullshit. They pressed an entirely new disk with the 1.10 patch on it. It's stupid they didn't also include the DLC

Very interesting. Xbox version of Elden Ring used to come with 1 disc. Now, it comes with two discs. Looks like the discs have more content on them this time

I think it might be because the original Xbox physical release for this game probably contained the Xbox One data on the disc and then if you inserted it into a Series X it would automatically update with the smart delivery feature or whatever it is. This version only has Series X listed on the front of the box so I suspect it's the Series X version on the disc and because Xbox use 50gb discs they need two whereas PS5 has 100gb discs and therefore only need one.

I live in Australia and the version on my game for PS5 was 1.11 no internet just installed straight from the disc. Still has a voucher for DLC though

@@PulseOfMe Actually the DLC is an update, every player needs to donwload the DLC update, even if they do not buy the DLC, its need it. All Souls games works like that. Having 2 BD on XB make think maybe the version is newer

The code is only for the dlc, PS4/5. So you need the base game already. Hope this answers your question.

@@Fil_the_King this is a little bit weird but i guess because the erdtree expansion only exists as a combined ps4/ps5 item thats just how it shakes out. But it would have been nice if it had a copy of the PS4 base game you could access as well. Gran Turismo 7 included a code for the PS4 digital game in the anniversary edition, for example.

I got my xbox copy friday. The key disc wouldnt read. I sent it back and got the second copy. The data disc would read but the key disc wouldnt read. The second copy i got wouldnt read. So i am returning that and kept both codes i got for the erdtree and im getting the regular edition sent. Dont get this edition. Unless you want to go through what im going through and i just want to play the game.

We're in 2024!!! and those Physical Media for games are still lazy to put add-ons on disc... i really missed the glory old days of Skyrim Legendary Edition(it has all expansions in the latter, and they're in the disc/discs and it was from 2010s)
