Call me old fashioned, but I love stories like this where we build our own stuff. The engineering, the production lines, all that problem solving, the shop banter, and just figuring stuff out... Love that environment. The 3D folks are like that too. I hope it keeps coming home.
CNC is bringing it all back. It doesn't make as many jobs as old style machining and assembly manufacturing methods but its far more efficient with less mistakes, quicker to turn around, less waste, and with tighter tolerances. The jobs it does make though are skilled, high paying jobs and it allows for a whole network of new opportunities for vendors, technicians, software and hard ware devs, logistics, etc. It is only of those things that just cause positive feedback loops where everyone wins.
This is dope, I run/work in a rapid prototype shop in an aerospace environment. We do everything in house from a solid block of material to programming, setup and inspection. To take pride and ownership in our art is the best feeling ever! keep it up.
“The future of our company”. You are a true leader Titan.
I am a college student and I just started a mechanical design business. listening to your stories and experiences is inspiring and it motivates me to keep going! I want Martin Mechanical Design to be on this level someday! I am taking notes. thank you for this, and please keep sharing and teaching!
It is indeed motivating, wish you great succes.
Just do guys like me "Technician" a huge favor in your designing process. Think about how serviceable your design is. Spend the time making it easily serviceable and what you design WILL have lasting power. Good designs last decades, bad designs last years at best. I bury poorly designed equipment in the field by promoting equipment designed to be serviced in an efficient manner. Salesmen only sell up front ( One hit wonders). Technicians sell every time they show up.
@@mattozx6rr Some of the most valuable experiences that I have had at any company, is working among, for and with, "technicians" (highly specialized and technical workers that are not traditional engineers). They are the people that are actually "doing the work" and it is important to understand their role so that you can optimize your design to help them and ultimately production.
I sincerely appreciate the time and effort put into sharing your amazing stories YOU experience while building your amazing company! They are JUST as important as the technical videos you post on machining! 🙏
I worked at Schilling Robotics from 2006 -2009 and I was a welder there. Your parts were awesome to work with. We didn’t have to worry if they were going to fit or not!!
Titan is a successful guy because he is so Humble, respect for him ✌
It's one thing to push out the test piece that you work on 24/7 perfectly to spec, then there is the fact that you have to make 1000 of them, all to spec, under contant time pressure.
If you manage both, then you are a fabricator.
I worked for Schilling Robotics from 2006-2009 and Titan's parts were spot on all the time!!
When one door close another opens. The key is to be in "the game". No matter who's ahead of you producing, very often the point man drops the ball. If you're in the game you'll have an opportunity to pick the ball up. Keep yourself in the game no matter how insignificant your role is at the moment.
I have inspected many parts made by outside vendors, some of them always giving us parts that were out of tolerance. On the other hand, I also inspected parts from a vendor new to us and found them to be not only all in tolerance, but almost all parts right at nominal on all dimensions. I told my boss literally the same things as Titan mentioned in this story, "Give these guys as much work as they want/can handle." To this day, they have not let us down or deviated from the level of quality they gave us on that first job. So in my opinion, quality definitely does matter when choosing which vendor gets the work, not just the price quote.
It's worth a decent amount to know you'll have good parts on time. Lord knows the worst thing in the world is getting some in after the supplier has been behind just to find that they're out of spec.
Dyna78 why are you saying I told my Boss. Think bigger brother For I can do all thing through Christ who strengthens me. He wants to give you all your hearts desires. Instead of you building someone else's business build you own. We have never before had an opportunity to become a manufacture. we want to bring it all back from over seas and put Americans back to work
@@montneymon-ta-knee6810 Thank you for your inspiring words, and I agree! I may not be there yet, but I am on my way. :) Best of luck to you as well!
@@montneymon-ta-knee6810 My thoughts as well stop reporting to a boss become an owner either you are qualified to and making the important decisions or ought to be punished for staying there...
@@Dyna78 i sold my comjpany to an employee like you for a $1. you sound like a one in a million employee and i bet your boss is totally aware
I cannot fathom how good you felt when they looked at that part and said it was perfect. And then “give them as much work” like wow man, I had goosebumps and felt over the moon just at the thought of an experience like that. So happy for you and since you’re meeting their expectations you guys totally deserve it. Big thumbs up and thank you for sharing this inspirational experience of yours
The love in it is great. The admiration in your description from the part owners is just epic. Loving every bit of this trade. Keep going.
Much respect to this guy and his team! Hats off. This is what should be called a true influencer! No, even influencer is kind of poor description. A hero!
Hes a teacher
I had my car broken into today, and had a bunch of expensive stuff stolen. I haven't heard this story from Titan before, and just to hear about working and going to make things happen has been some consolation that things will always go up from rock bottom. Thank you Titan and your team for everything that you do!🔥💛
The lord can't give you what you need if your hands are full. Sometimes he must empty your hands
That is inspiring to hear how you came back from losing a good customer to picking up an awesome customer. This is the kind of knowledge that the youth of today needs to understand.
Stay humble.... Love you Titan and the Titan family. Thank you for all that you do. Much gratitude.
Thank you for sharing Titan, following like a hawk! Love seeing you grow, you videos inspire me to push harder and make it happen. BOOM. Much respect from down under.
Ty I'm am so proud of you how you went through all the obstacle he gave you and you still came out at the end and saw him and praised him. You know he did this for you. Never let go of him. Now more than ever we need him. Much Love my Brother
You’ll never learn how good you’re until u do it yourself. Don’t be scared to be taught something that u don’t know.
I would luv to work there
Dude this is one of best stories I've heard.
Love your name!
Such a good story. Nothing better then making a perfect part and impressing someone. Feels so good
Not going to use his last name but his name is Rick and he works at such and such in California LOL. I'm glad things are working out for you. Keep up the good work.
OMG this guys says: " Google how to machine titanium " so funny
@@Chris-hw4mq yeah like how hard can it be roflmfao
@@peterkay7458 I mean it's actually not real hard with proper tooling and programming.
Wow. Your video is so inspiring. I just bought my first cnc. I am still working for a boss though, but I am so passionate about creating stuff. I am a Tool die and jig maker. I just love the way you talk about the work, it sound so fun.
Mr titan. You are a great inspiration not only to fellow Americans but also he in ASIA. really love to visit you in person. Great team of workers you have.
Titan I can't thank you enough. You are truly an amazing story teller. As a guy who also has a keen interest in manufacturing I love listening into the lessons you have to teach. Much love.
You're absolutely the Tony Robbins of machining. It's a joy listening to your stories.
......and the largest tool I've ever bought is a Delta drill press. I loved machine shop back in the '70s in high school but I never pursued machining as a career. I remember touring our local community college and they actually had a CNC milling machine. That right there scared the crap out of me. On an out of town field trip to Portland Oregon, we toured a Hyster machining facility, the FMC shipyard, a metal foundry an an engine rebuilding shop. Technology has made unbelievable strides. You grabbed the bull by the horns and never looked back. Congratulations on your success 👍
I worked for a company who made the A frames and winches for Shilling that launches these ROV's. They were used on ships made in LaRose Louisiana for the Gulf supply ships. They are really neat machines.
Thats awesome to hear i remember watching the shop get setup up then flood..... now this looks like your making the right moves
You got a good skill Man & top notch customer service that drives you to the top. I was pump up listening to you. Thank you from: Philippines
Titan you continuously seem to inspire and motivate me. Keep up the great work that you guys do. keep setting those high standards for others to follow.
What an inspiring story. You proved that results matter, and talk is cheap...
I have been completely inspired by your story, the way you talk and explained it, I felt I was there next to you the whole way 👍
THIS is SO INSPIRING MAN! I NEED THIS EVERY DAY! CNC'ing ALL NIGHT! YOU FIRED ME UP!
Bruh, congratulations. You really put yourself out there and it paid off.
That square tubing looks like it should be processed on a Tube Laser :)
Hey Titan, man you’re just so humble and most of all you’re so relatable. Thanks for passing on your life experiences..it’s so great to watch your videos.
Hi Titans, I am from China, I have see some video you up loaded. And I have six CNC machines and SLA machine now and or some other machines. You know what, when I read your story, I talk myself that oh my god! This man is really my hero! It seems that we are doing the same thing, but it really doesn’t same! You are my idol, ok? You are telling what a CNC vender should do, and what a small boss like me should do. I hope I have the chance to see you when we can travel after the Covid 19.
Be good, Titans.
I’m not in machining or cnc (I’m a software developer) but I’ve been blessed by the YT algorithm to your channel and watching all your videos just makes me low key jealous that I don’t run a machining shop because listening to your stories just makes me want to machine the hell out of some metal and conquer that glorious moment when the customer says it’s perfect… that is some victorious sh right there!
Albeit I get my little victories in software too, I suppose we do somewhat intricately related stuff sometimes - you make the physical stuff, I make the digital stuff that makes the physical stuff come to life… but still, I do crave sometimes after watching your videos to go out there and do some intricate stuff with my hands as I don’t get enough of that sitting behind the computer screen all day… it’s always satisfying to touch and feel a masterpiece of expert work that you’ve put time and effort into.
Great story brother. Hope yall enjoy making it and keep your business booming.
I remember when you were doing everything you could to keep from letting workers go. You've had many downfalls yet, you continue to pick yourself up and the next opportunity falls in your lap. Awesome story. Great video, cheers :)
I have been following you from day one , you my friend are a anomaly that comes along. So anyone who teams up with your company is going to be a winner. God speed and good luck.Oh and you make AMERICA first go get them.
Fair play well deserved you and your guys are a great example of what can be done with the right attitude and great work ethic.

This quote always holds true:
"It's not what you know.. It's not WHO you know.. its who knows YOU..
Your success in life is driven by conversations you will never know happened"
The money is nice for sure but nothing feels better than making something for someone and wowing them. One of the best feelings, and even more so when its a skill/trade you are passionate about. I got a little of that feeling second hand from just hearing this great story. This is how you get things done.
"....Future of the company. So then I walk back into my office and I google how to machine titanium." LOL I love it, way to rise to the challenge!
What a great and enjoyable story. Thanks for sharing it!!!
What an EPIC chance to prove yourself. Congratulations Titan!
Titan's energy makes me want my own CNC shop!
I tell my guys, make the parts correct to numbers and information that's on the prints. Then imagine your buying that part with money out of your own pocket. The scrap can stays empty and the reject / failures aren't there.
I use to inspect for the Big Orange Helicopter Company. When i would reject a part and the Machinist would come in bitching and moaning i used to tell them " when all else fails, make the part to the print".
Nice this is the key be recognized as being really good at what you do. And get out there and do it for yourself and put your own people on.
This video is for a patch of Rogue equipment.
Great job
Well let's just hope you show your employees how much you appreciate their hard work making you millions. Most bosses think they do it all.
Ain’t that a fact.
Well this goes both ways. I agree, but I'm a small business owner and I have small business owner friends around and the horror stories I could tell you for hours.. Employees don't show up, don't care, leave early without notice, quit by texting.. And pay raises and accepting all their special requests doesn't help. It's really a matter of the people were raised, and I believe this goes for both the employees, and the employers. Some employees are just there for you, and boy do you feel like being there for them! It goes both ways.
@@Soulsmithing I agree as well.
@@Soulsmithing most definitely.
@@SoulsmithingYeah but I know most of you business owners a hiring illegals and or family rather than seeking educated and trained individuals specifically for the job.
I'd love to see a video about your take on how Machine Shops will be including Industrial 3D Printing of metal parts.
Inconel, Ti, Alum, Copper, Stainless
Like Wagner Machine Co
Since i found your Chanel, every video I watch is an inspiration
Very nice to hear stories like this man keep pushing !!!
If you ever get tired of this. You should become the Gordon Ramsey of Machine Shops. Go to failing shops and try to turn them around. I know there has to be thousands of shops that would qualify. Love your stuff, guys!
I love listening to these videos and hearing titan talk about titanium octopusses, 9axis machines, ceramic tools... and then I get to go clock-in and play with my
+/-.0001 tolerance boring bar :(
I’ve heard similar stories, it’s funny how things work out.
Randomly watching this, and I see kennametal. Well, I grew up in Akron, Ohio, and my step dad made those tools at kennametal for alot of years. I thought it was cool seeing their logo in your video
I love this story! It kept getting better and better!
I worked as a CNC tech operating a huge bed mill back in -08, just before the recession hit. Our boss had put alomst all eggs in one basket so when the recession hit, Sandvik stopped everything we manufactured for them so we lost 70% of our business over night, I had to go and 4 other machine guys got laid off aswell. So having a company who relies on others that much it's vital to not have a customer of that size supplying you with job.
This is awesome! Happy for you.
When I was a Tool&Die machinist back in the 70's we didn't have any CNC machines. Everything was done by hand and the layout table was used heavily. Then I joined the USAF and went to work straight out of basic training to my job no tech school. Also got 2 strips straight out of basic.
The metals in the Tool & Die were mostly tool steels of many different types and heat treatments.
The Aircraft metals were mostly different types of aluminum. My first time to see and feel Titanium I was amazed at the strength of the metal for such a small size like..375 inch was so strong that I put a bad part in a vice at the end of a long heavy work table and tried to bend it. Had to use a cheater bar about 4 feet long. All i accomplished was lift the other end of the table. I put the Titanium in a lathe and it ran true. It did not bend.
I kept some of the old parts and made many useful things out of it.
I admire your passion for your craft
Great story. Thanks for sharing it. Back to work.
I make parts for bullet manufacturing. Plates with thousands of holes. Each hole has a tolerance of +\- .0002
Some of them are +\- .0005
Each hole has to be perfect. Otherwise there would be a big 💥 at their plant. Tight tolerances aren’t bad once you know what you’re doing. I
I used to machine piercing point for seamless pipe mill od and bore piercing points on horizontal hexagon boring machine i loved that work wae all hands on training
These are the stories I like to hear. Do you guys do tours?
Booom , hey Titan I love your content, keep going! Saludos desde México !
Such a nice story. Keep up bro... Hello from Serbia..
This is inspiring, sometimes you have to push your limits without passing them too much. Today it is more complicated, parts and materials are going up in price at a fast rate and hard to find at any price and employees are very hard to find, no one wants to work so wages are climbing through the roof. What you would have paid a semi-skilled factory worker a year ago McDonald's is paying them as starting pay plus a sign on bonus. I have a huge amount of orders for my products and am renovating a new, larger building for the higher production needed but even finding plumbers, electricians and roofers to do the work is nearly impossible and when you can they are taking a long time to complete the work do to parts shortages. There is so much work out there but no one can find the help to do it. We are living in strange times, something is up and it ain't any good.
Love hearing about your journey
Everyday our boss accept job that he don’t have idea how to do. And thats how we grew and won difficult challenges .We produce solid carbide endmills and everything made of tungsten carbide, it would be awesome that titan would try some of our products!
Cheers from italy! Look for CTT carbide tools technology
You have a great team and Tyson seems very dependable.
Love the rant style videos titan

Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. - Proverbs 16:18
Yeah my current boss is like that too. Take the job without even thinking if we can do it. Just 2 weeks ago he took some prototype to make.
Alu, 4 parts, somewhat complicated but not too problematic. To be done in 2 days.
Quick programming and some simulations on easy mode we got like 4 hours per part. Cool we do it on 2 machines and we can be done easy. There was one part that was a bit worrying. 1mm slot 8mm deep.
Next day 2am I'm done with first side. It's beautiful so I put second part to do it overnight. Might as well save 2 hours. I come at 2pm for my shift and first side done. Second side still to program. Getting a bit tight. Get completed program at around 9pm. Simulation says 5 hours. Yikes but doable. Set up machine and all to be perfect. Run the program at midnight. Stay with machine till half past 3. Only some minor stuff to be done with no chance of crash so I leave it running.
Come back and first part is still in machine. Last tool broke(1mm slot) and new program needs 9 hours to finish. Well fuck. But at least its working.
Set up second machine to do the same part. Change the first part at 8pm. And wait till 4am to change last part. That was my last week before Christmas.
We had to cancel production on 2 machines, we just had a crash on 1 a week earlier and we still didn't have 5th(new) machine set up.
Good luck, go for it.
Great lesson on how hard work pays off
Good things happen to good people that work hard.
The place i was working at before i retired was a dream team of tecs
Major shipper came to us asked us to be their main supplier of parts and repairs suppliers of vehicles
Then once we agreed their demands became unreasonable
We had many other customers we needed to take care of also
The shipping co kept throwing their weight at us wanting everything now
Like making a deal with the devil
This is the kind of reply people need to see, as well as Titan's dream come true stories. How about a few more cautionary tales to balance things out, Titan?
IBM about killed my company, then Intel behind them was a repeat. Maybe we had the wrong navigators?
Make hay when the sun shines bro, keep up the good work.
1000 of an inch haha on a cnc is easy. We used to do that shit on manual machines at 2000ths. With manual grinding machines we where working at 5000ths inch in 20°C vibration controlled environement (25 years ago). Then using mitutoyo cnc measuring machines. Sandvich carbide cutting tools. Miss those days
Crazy to come across a youtube video and hear about my home town! Davis, CA
If you can machine the ambihelical hex nut, you can machine anything.
It paid off beautifully!
You are a Blessed man Titan
Schilling has been around forever if it's the same company, use to manufacture all sorts of stuff, and Dillon makes the mini gun, and it's Kool to see my namesake schunk is still around
I am now 45. I remember doing parts like this with none cnc machines. I was the new kid learning all this stuff iso gcode blah blah blah. Then went to look for job but all jobs went to China and eastern Europe.
where pt 2? it cut out midway through. epic story mate, just stumbled across your channnel.
I love these stories.
This is just one side of the story. The other side of the story is not that great. Schilling ended up buying Dillon Precision and turning into their production machine shop.
Where I just retired from we made that kind of tubing those are real fine product, I'm curious where you guys are located.
Love it titan👌
Great content love it
Good story man, cheers 👍
These videos are the best. A guy telling his story about his machining business, the stuff you never really hear or see. Titan is one of the greats! Anyone that dislikes his videos are just people who don't like to work, living off the people and hate to see successful people at work. Those 10 people that disliked this, how dare you
Thank you for this.
Man, I wish I was good enough and lucky enough to have something like this happen to me.
I'd love to be half as good.
So much great experience.
Maybe am wrong ,but you guys was already machining Titanium. There was the titanium foot peg and the titanium lion,60hp machine 150 pound titanium etc. . So this first time story, I Google it "How to machine Titanium " kinda funny.
Thanks Brother,
This is a clip from an old video. We have a huge amount new subscribers that haven’t heard the story.
