  • Few figures in the high-performance powerboating world are as immediately recognizable as Bob Teague. The founder of Teague Custom Marine in Southern California, Teague has dedicated his life to his passion for being on the water for five decades. From running his thriving parts design and fabrication, engine-building and full-service business to earning offshore racing world championships and developing the often imitated but never duplicated Powerboat magazine testing program, Teague has done it all.
Far from the “dumb boat mechanic” label he applies to himself, Teague is a U.S. Army veteran and retired Los Angeles Fire Department Captain who never fails to step up for charity and his fellow boaters. But his family is his greatest passion, followed by the family business he created-one he expects to live on for generations.
Want to know how he’s continued to stay ahead of the pack? Watch “In The Lead with Bob Teague,” episode No. 6 of the second-year video series presented by Mercury Racing.
The series tells the stories of the most accomplished and innovative racers, builders, influencers and entrepreneurs in the high-performance powerboat industry. Special thanks to supporting sponsors, MYCO Trailers, Bluave Marine Audio, Hamilton Marine Finance and Race World Offshore.

When he nonchalantly said he was long range infantry. He was LRRP long range recon patrol. That was by far the most dangerous job a young man could have.🫡🇺🇸

I cant say enough about this fine production by SOTW-ITL and this amazing true life story, sacrifice, super success and great stewardship of Bob Teague ! ... I've been running a pair of APBA spec built Teague 1100's detuned to 825's out of the 1999 Citgo Race Boat ( in my '98 42' Fountain ) that have been refreshed only once that I know of and are running just great still to this very day !! Thank You Bob for you service to our country so that I may live free to Powerboat in the USA ! ... and most of all ---> GOD Bless
