    Hi Sheila!! I just completed the back piece for a raglan sweater using these decreases exactly, but I'm confused at my pattern's directions for the front piece, and I'm wondering if you can help.
    It says:
    FRONT- Work same as for back until
    29 sts remain, end with k row.
    (I can do this)
    Neck- P 10 sts, sl to holder for
    right side, p 9, sl to holder for neck;
    p remaining 10 sts.
    (I can do this too)
    ? Left Side- At neck edge, dec. 1 st every
    row twice, every 2nd row 2 times, a
    t same time, continue raglan dec. until
    2 sts remain, end with p row.
    Can you clarify that last line for me? Do I continue as Row 1: SKP at the beginning/knit 2 tog at the end; Row 2: purl 1 row? does this make sense?

    • @sheilasknittingtipsandothe3191
      @sheilasknittingtipsandothe3191  Před 3 lety +1

      Olivia the pattern is not very well explained, it had me thinking as well, i think the pattern should read like this Dec 1 stitch at neck edge on the next 2 rows then dec 1 stitch at neck edge on the next 2 Alternate rows, i am hoping this is what it means...

    I have a question what does this line of pattern mean?
    dec 1 st each side every 3 rd row 2 times. Don't I have to turn work to purl side ? How do I get to third row do I not decrease on second row?

    • @sheilasknittingtipsandothe3191
      @sheilasknittingtipsandothe3191  Před 4 měsíci

      There is nothing in my video that says dec on every 3rd row, when you are decreasing it is usually done on every alt row or 4th row on the knit rows, unless it is a set in sleeve and you are just knitting 2 sts tog at the start of the row..

    so you only decrease on the knit row. how did you decrease on the end of the row when you began the armhole?

    • @mp9033
      @mp9033 Před 5 měsíci

      When you begin the armhole you decrease three stitches (or however many specified by your pattern) on the knit row and the purl row. It is the raglan shaping that is only done on the knit rows.

    • @sheilasknittingtipsandothe3191
      @sheilasknittingtipsandothe3191  Před 5 měsíci

      When you start the raglan shaping you cast off say 3 sts at beg of the next 2 rows the dec Is done at both ends you k1,s1,k1, psso at the start of the row at the end of the row you k2tog,k1.
