I worked at a day camp and I know parents absolutely adored when we took the time to quickly call them to tell them their child was having a great day, show them pictures of their camper laughing, or when we remembered the little things about their camper. I went through this with both babies! My daughter would take forever to warm up to daycare and preschool. I was late for work a few times because she refused to let go of me. Now she is a happy and confident teen who can't wait for me to drop her off and leave (although the first day of high school she did hold my hand and insist I walk her in!). You're a good mom!

Oh I remember the traumatic pre-k drop off, I'm so sorry Bri! It 100% gets better!! My baby is in 2nd grade this year and I still cry after drop off, my son doesn't cry on the first day anymore but I definitely do!

Landon will be fine and it will get easier I promise. It does pull at your heartstrings as a Mum though leaving them when they are emotional but most of the time they stop crying as soon as you are out of there sight. Fantastic that they sent you a message to say he was all ok so you can get on with your day with peace of mind, and as you said he really is at that age now where he needs to be more independent and learn. You are doing a great job 👍🏻❤️
Hi Brianna dont worry Landon will be ok, my son has been in preschool for one year and he loves it so much . At first its very difficult then they have fun and make new friends. My son still tells me mommy stay with me dont go to work its so hard but as parents we must do what we have to do. He will be ok he looked so adorable.
I was a Preschool teacher for 7 years before I had my LO and am now a stay at home mama, but I just wanted to reassure you that Landon's behavior is totally normal for a child that age. I have had so many kids that act like that in the beginning and after their parents leave they stop crying and have amazingly fun days at school. You did an amazing job just leaving right away and not dragging it out longer. It won't last forever 😁

She cried the first day of kindergarten (so did I lol) but 2 weeks in she has me dropping her off in the drop off drive through line instead of walking her in. 😥 I'm glad Landon felt better after a bit.

My son started prek this year, he goes a full day 5 days a week and he rides the bus, as soon as that bus drove off I had a breakdown and bawled my eyes out for a good hour. He's also I speech and thankfully his speech teacher was there the first day so she let me know how it went as the day went on. Thankfully he loves school and wants to go everyday.

My daughter started PreVPK at 3.5 yrs old too. It took about two weeks for her to get adjusted. Drop off was the hardest and nap time at school she would ask for me. She was only cared for by family as well. She is in VPK now and loves it!

Aww my little guy was the same. Only went to grandmas house for daycare. It’s so hard to see them like that but my friend that’s a teacher said it takes up to six weeks for them to adjust. I did look through the window in the door a couple times and he was smiling just like your little guy:)

I feel you!! My youngest is 3 and this year at preschool he screams, kicks, cries, and shoves the teachers away every day I drop him off. Yesterday I couldn't hold back my tears as he was clinging to me. He was in the same preschool last year (and the 2yo and 3yo classes use the same classroom), but something changed in him over the summer and now he doesn't want me to leave him anywhere. It breaks my heart. But every time I pick him up, he's all smiles and says he has fun. We're in our second week, so hopefully it starts to get easier soon. I hope it gets easier for you guys too!!

So glad he cheered up. My daughter’s first day was yesterday, she was fine ( it’s only two days a week from 8-11:45 ) but she didn’t know what to expect. Next time we go she will know and it might be a different story. I didn’t cry but I got home and planned this whole morning of cleaning and ended up just sitting there worried the whole time. We are blessed she is with my Dad full time while I work so this was her first time being dropped off with strangers. She met them at their open house but still. He will love it! And P will want to go soon. I saw a lot of little sibling sad they had to leave lol I was so proud of my first day prep. I am not a morning person so prepping the night before will be key for me. Aww so sad I used to work at a day care the kids always calm down within 10 mins. Best thing to do is get them singing a song it distracts them. Every day will get easier.
Omg, I'm so glad I'm not the only mom that over packs their lunch / snack. The thought of my girl going hungry breaks my heart. Here in Canada pre school teachers have fruit on hand if any kids need a little extra.
I always overpack food for my daughter as well. :) She’s so active I’d hate for her to be hungry during the day. I’m sure the first day excitement and nerves meant Landon ate less than normal, give him some time to settle in and I bet the lunch box will be much emptier at the end of the day.
My preschooler cried the 1st day too. The teacher had to pick him up and carry him in.😯 but he had a really great day. And now loves preschool. It was pretty hard for me though. I understand.
Aww drop off can be so hard and then within secs they get to playing and having fun. Glad u left quick cause it sounds mean but I tell parents not to stay longer u do they think ur staying all day . Pretty much parents aren’t even in their cars and it’s all good . We have the brightwheel app our school using now and love it , u can send messages and pics . We also have cameras in every class ♥️hope he keeps having a blast in school :)

My son has been at daycare since 8 weeks and all of a sudden he is the worst at drop off and he is 3! It totally goes up and down with ease of drop offs, but I’ve seen with my own eyes (via the cameras there) that my son gets it together as soon as I leave, don’t worry!!!! It’s hard, but he is having fun!

Aww so sad I used to work at a day care the kids always calm down within 10 mins. Best thing to do is get them singing a song it distracts them. Every day will get easier.

Omg, I'm so glad I'm not the only mom that over packs their lunch / snack. The thought of my girl going hungry breaks my heart. Here in Canada pre school teachers have fruit on hand if any kids need a little extra.

I always overpack food for my daughter as well. :) She’s so active I’d hate for her to be hungry during the day. I’m sure the first day excitement and nerves meant Landon ate less than normal, give him some time to settle in and I bet the lunch box will be much emptier at the end of the day.
My preschooler cried the 1st day too. The teacher had to pick him up and carry him in.😯 but he had a really great day. And now loves preschool. It was pretty hard for me though. I understand.

Aww drop off can be so hard and then within secs they get to playing and having fun. Glad u left quick cause it sounds mean but I tell parents not to stay longer u do they think ur staying all day . Pretty much parents aren’t even in their cars and it’s all good . We have the brightwheel app our school using now and love it , u can send messages and pics . We also have cameras in every class ♥️hope he keeps having a blast in school :)

My son has been at daycare since 8 weeks and all of a sudden he is the worst at drop off and he is 3! It totally goes up and down with ease of drop offs, but I’ve seen with my own eyes (via the cameras there) that my son gets it together as soon as I leave, don’t worry!!!! It’s hard, but he is having fun!
