    Pokémon Go is a 2016 augmented reality (AR) mobile game developed and published by Niantic in collaboration with The Pokémon Company for iOS and Android devices. A part of the Pokémon franchise, the game is the result of a collaboration between Niantic, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company. It uses the mobile device GPS to locate, capture, battle, and train virtual creatures, called Pokémon, which appear as if they are in the player's real-world location. The game is free to play; it uses a freemium business model and supports in-app purchases for additional in-game items. The game launched with around 150 species of Pokémon, which had increased to around 500 by 2019.
    Pokémon Go was released to mixed reviews; critics praised the concept, but criticized technical problems. It was one of the most used and profitable mobile apps in 2016, having been downloaded more than 500 million times worldwide by the end of the year. It is credited with popularizing location-based and AR technology, promoting physical activity, and helping local businesses grow due to increased foot traffic. However, it attracted controversy for contributing to accidents and creating public nuisances. Various governments expressed concerns about security, and some countries regulate its use. By early 2019, the game had over a billion global downloads, grossing over $3 billion in revenue. The game also had over 147 million monthly active users as of May 2018.

    the thing about "not leveling up your pokemon unless they are meta and have close to perfect IVs" is that I don't have any of them; I know you are right but it's frustrating

      @ABCScandalFanatic Před rokem +29

      I would say that’s a good rule for Legendaries. Non-legendaries, eh - do what you have to. Lol. I only started playing last year and grunts were kicking my butt until someone traded me a Machoke w terrible IVs and mediocre CP. I didn’t have a good fighting type but that awful Machamp got me thru until I got something better.

      @mychaldunkle6474 Před rokem +7

      I commented that building a budget/newb (not noob) team is a good idea so you can raid/fight gyms in order to gather resources to make an actual high-to-top tier team.
      For example: alakazam at lvl 30 obvi loses to shadow mewtwo at lvl 30, but the alakazam only cost 25 candy if you traded it, & it was already lvl 30 as a wild spawn; could even be 35 with weather boost. Vs s-mewtwo which costs 113 candy & 123,360 dust to hit 30 from lvl 13, & that's if it was weather boosted, 130 candy & 136k dust if not.
      So build that newb/budget team & don't worry about IVs, just save your good ones for when you've built up a bank of candy & dust, then build your late game team.

    • @NoelleSavkov
      @NoelleSavkov Před rokem +5

      Yeah budget team will be your friend...POGO is a journey so enjoy the grind, it makes it worth it, nothing easy is worth doing anyway...oh and patience, everything comes around in this game if you just wait, that's what I learned anyway...happy hunting :)

    • @Deatzi
      @Deatzi Před rokem +1

      @@NoelleSavkov I came up with a new solution-
      I want to focus 90% on lucky pokemon with whatever stats; the star dust discount is ridiculous to me, really motivated me a ton when i got my lucky dratiny; finally i have the slightest urge to even think of leveling a pokemon up lol

    • @Obiwanjacobyx7x
      @Obiwanjacobyx7x Před rokem +3

      It's okay, I know, it frustrates me too trying to find the most meta pokemon in the wild..
      But y'know what? I found that if I just look for any good Pokemon that have evolution stages, save up their candies, and evolve whenever possible, you'll have some great pokemon that you can switch between when battling others or Team Go Rocket.
      Tbh a Pokemon's CP, HP, or Attack Power is only so powerful when the right Pokemon is pitted against your opponents Pokemon's weakness... The more effective your Pokemon's attacks are, the better you'll come out in battles.
      For instance, train up some good water and ground type pokemon to use against your opponents fire type pokemon. Train some good flying type pokemon to use against bug type pokemon.
      Many many many pokemon have certain strengths and weaknesses, it just all depends how they're used and who against.
      This is all just my opinion, but it makes the game much less stressful for me.

    I have to disagree with the "only power up 100% IV &/or the most meta relevant mons." For sure, such mons should be the ones you pick to max out to lvl 40 and beyond, but newbs/casuals might not have access to those and/or the resources to use them. That's more of a late game strategy.
    Most of the best mons are legendaries and/or shadows, which are expensive to power up into usefulness. Focusing purely on such mons (& >90% IV ones) means you'll take forever to make decent raid teams. I say teams bc the raid bosses (specifically T5/mega) rotate, so you want a variety of teams for (almost) every occasion.
    Build a budget team of decently meta relevant mons that are caught at a high level (20+). Stuff like machop-champ, abra-alakazam, gastly-gengar can be evolved to the final forms for free after trading. Many cDay mons are good budget options, & some are even top picks. Mudkip (shadow), machop (shadow), charizard (s), and more.
    Build your budget teams (should have one each for the current T5/mega raid) & level them to lvl 30; which shouldn't take long/many resources if you used already high lvl mons regardless of IVs. With weather boost, some wild spawns can be as high as lvl 35. This is widely regarded as the break point for maximum bang for buck in terms of CP/raid usefulness vs cost analysis. Once you have these teams, use them to raid for the top picks, fight in gyms for coins, farm shadows, etc. Slowly replace budget picks with top picks & high IVs, once again, powering up to lvl 30, but no higher. Once you have these teams filled out with lvl 30 high to top tiers, power them up to lvl 40. lvl 50 is like SUPER late game, almost purely for flexing or those who wanna do something crazy like solo/duo legendary or mega raids.

      I agree with you in the sense of maxing out to 40. But if you are maxing any Pokémon to 50 with Candy XL, it isn't worth powering up anything that's not going to be forever used.

    • @madskatergo200
      @madskatergo200 Před rokem

      I would power up a 15/12/14 Terrekian because attack is the big thing in raid battles. For me it doesn't have to be perfect just in the 90% with 15 attack

      I have powered up my Salamence almost to max at this point, I’m grinding it out to get all levels with the XL candies now so I can get it to max power. I don’t even know if it’s a good idea, but the thing is a near perfect and is a beast in dragon type raids. Not to mention I have it at mega level 3. And all my other ‘mons suck lmao

    Good tips, but it it should be made clearer that "good" iv pokemon can mean different things depending on if you are talking about raids\gyms or GO battle league. In the latter, good iv typically means low attack, high HP and Defense. This was my biggest mistake starting this game, as I wasted resources on three star pokemon that are NOT what you want for GBL. I recommend looking up videos explaining pvp ivs.

    I don't necessarily agree with only powering up perfect IVs. Unless by "close", you mean anywhere in the 90s range. the difference between 90-100% IVs is extremely small. even 85-90 is worth the investments if meta relevant with the correct attacks. personally, unless they're personal favorite metas/ high IV shines, I don't even max them out to 50. ill get to around 45 and stop, as you're only getting an extra CP range of a couple hundred in the end. this is all personal preference. but leveling up a wider variety of good Pokemon close tho their max is more efficient for stardust, and gives you a larger group of highly effective and useful Pokemon.

    • @CountJinsulaOfficial

      "Close" to me is 86% - 100%

    • @10anzengruber
      @10anzengruber Před rokem

      @@CountJinsulaOfficial that’s fair then. I was under the impression close was like 96-100, which is way too common in most players minds. a lot of trainers, and ones I know personally believe those high IVs are the only ones worth the investment. But those level IVs are few and far between. Once you get to 85 I think it’s good to go. There’s very little difference on a scale between 86-100, like you said. Great video tho man. Very informative 👍🏼
