  • Finally did a walk around of my old jeep. Traded a go kart for it right out of high school. It was filled with body filler. Didn’t stop and had been sitting for years. With right around 1000 dollars total tied up in it, it’s become a fun daily driver. Sorry about the video quality and presentation. Been awhile since I filmed anything.

    Nice save. It is always a good thing when we can combine and convert another man's "old junk" into something that not only works but that makes you happy.

      You should go for it, these mail jeeps are cheap and forgotten. Chances are you will find one in better shape than mine. Thanks for the positive feedback as well!

    I’m thinking about a DJ5 and I found this video. I don’t want one unless it’s customized like yours!!! Hahahaha this is awesome!

      It's not hard to do, just takes some time! I sold the Dj a couple months ago, last i heard the new owner was trying to flip it. Might still be for sale somewhere out there.

      JunkinJames interesting!!! I’m not a huge car guy so do you know how reliable these are? I know they have to be pretty reliable because they are postal Jeeps and used in the military. If I got one would it hold up very well?

      Found it on marketplace and bought it back last fall. It’s been my daily driver since. Worn out motor is still getting me down the road.

      I sold it to a guy 5 minutes up the road from me. He is going to rat rod it. I saved some parts though. What are you looking for ?

      @@junkinjames6345 I m looking for a steering column, side mirrors, a new gas tank but I might just buy a bigger one, doors, some drum breaks. Can I ask where you got your parts to restore your first one ?

    • @junkinjames6345
      @junkinjames6345  Před 5 lety +1

      Rock auto had everything I needed to redo the brakes. Cost me about 100 bucks for the whole system. My gas tank was ok luckily. But originals are hard to find. Most end up having a shop custom make a replacement. A cj steering column would probably work. As long as you have your steering box.
