How refreshing listening to our great first President of Zambia on the history of our country. I do have a picture of him and my colleagues as we wellcomed him at the opening of the Mufulira ZCCM Sports Festival all those years ago. I'm looking at my Zambian flag here in the UK. May God continue to Bless your life our KK and your family. We thank God for your life!

I had the privilege and pleasure to attend some meetings of UNIP, the party formed by KK s group after they were released from prison 1960/61. I was 23/4 and a colonial N. Rhodesia police officer. We taped speeches and counted heads and contributions for SB purposes. At that time KK was young and handsome, but just the same as he is on this video, polite, unassuming, thoughtful and considered in what he said. I was young but relatively ignorant and narrow in comparison. I was very moved by what was said, I learned so much and he changed me for the better, so much so that I am sure that I have been a much better man for his lessons. He later composed the Zambian National song - “Ti Yende pa modsi “ which means “we will walk as one” I think. His loving words regarding the need to inter-relate as Human Beings is fundamentally what KK is all about so very necessary and true. He is truly one of the true icons of our time!

The oldman gave us free education, free medical vaccinations in early childhood against small pox, miseals, polio etc, free health facilities, united all the 73 tribes of Zambia into one Zambia, one Nation, built road networks, health centres, primary and secondary schools, colleges and universities among other works. This helped to ground the country sooner in my views. It is refreshing to hear him give his History than to be told through third party. Grateful to listen to this interview.

Kenneth Kaunda was a focused president. He led Zambia in the sun. He has a heart of eleemosynary and practicses what he preaches. He has made Zambia what it is in spite of some of the few people in the country that deviated from the right track because of harbouring their selfish ends. So far so good I studied in Zambia from welfare to university and his education provision was a rennaissance ever inculcated to a bantu child. I cherish KK a.k.a Buchizya born unexpectedly to his missionary parents. He is a progeny of Africa that God bestowed Zambia so that He puts things right. "Ala mukwai bashi Panji, bashi Wazamazama, bashi Masuzyo bantambalukuta mwalimbombele ncito iisuma." It is for this reason God blessed you with long life. I remember as we chanted: One Zambia One Nation One nation One People One people One country and that Country Zambia Zambia with Peace and Stability. " Kumulu Lesa, Panshi Kaunda" Lesa apale ulukuta lwa calo umuyayaya umuyayaya.

Mwalimu, KK, recognized early that democracy was different in Africa because of our multifaceted nature. So they set to unite all the tribes within their domain. Many failed to do that in Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, etc. To bring development and stability, Africans must speak "one language." Whatever that language is must have in its core, humanitarianism.

This man has done more in Zambia as the President, in Africa the chairman of the organization of African Union. The untold story is that he helped Mandela and the ANC to secure the indepence for south Africa. He employed Mugabe as a teacher and helped him to secure independence for Zimbabwe. The west fought him by blowing the luangwa bridge when they realized that he was helping all neighboring countries secure their independence.

@Felix Kangwa, it is indeed difficult to explain the intense love Mzee had for Zambia and it’s people. As he did in public he did so in a private setting, the people came first for him nothing more, nothing less. He kept his promise of ensuring every Zambian child had an even chance at education and free medical care, as he always said, there are many little Kaunda’s out there only needing a chance. And so he did.
