Marie thank you for your devotional. I was a worry ward until my pastor told me that worrying is like slapping God in the face because he knows what is best. We have no plans for the holiday. We are thankful to have each other, food and a home.. the weather in Pennsylvania has been hot and air conditioning has been running continuously.

Funny that today's devotional should be about worry. I confess that I sometimes have to physically fight myself to keep from worrying. Once I was so scared during a storm that I started to deep clean the house to keep my mind occupied. I moved a piece of furniture and wedged between it and the wall was an old church bulletin with a picture of Jesus on stormy waters that read "Take courage, it is i; do not be afraid". May seem silly to some, but I felt Him with me in that moment. Take care and have a blessed Memorial Day. I'm on my way to Sunday Mass and will be praying for all of us. (Sorry this comment is so long. I can be wordy)😉❤

I have friends who are dealing with a very hard situation. The devotional was very good for me too. I've been praying for them, either way this goes, it will be a long hard road. I don't know how to pray for them, or what to say to comfort them. That devotional is perfect. Thank you!

when you were talking about the storms It reminded me of when I was a little girl I was afraid of the lighting and I would put my rubber boots on because my Daddy always said that rubber would work act as a ground (protect) so I thought that my boots would protect me. I used to worry a lot but learned it does no good to keep stressing over something that can't be changed. Philippians 4:6-7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus". Matthew 6:25 "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothes?". When we moved to Alabama, the first thing we did was purchase a storm shelter for the garage. For the first time ever we had to take shelter in it twice on the Saturday night of that horrific storm. When I was in my late teens I was worrying so much about our very young marriage and trying to please everyone. A nice lady I worked with gave me a little plaque that said, "Don't Put Today's Sunshine, Behind Tomorrow's Clouds." Deb, 🙏

Good Sunday morning Calvin and Marie. I made your Hobo casserole, it was delish. I found your viewers ages interesting. I'm 68 so I'm right in there too. Sounds like retired and newly retired people need your recipes and gardening tips. I have tried growing Gardenias in California by the beach, the desert and the mountains. Gardenias are supposed to love Big Bear Calif. Not my house. Retired to Arkansas. Planted a Gardenia. It Disappeared. Could be the rabbits. Rain and thundering right now. I don't know if you know that the growing zones were updated last November. I am now 8a not 7b. You would be 8a too. USDA Growing Zones 2023 is where you go to. Gosh , what a long wonderful video, You guys seem to feel good this morning, and you look great. You always lift my spirit up with your smiles and laughter. You do such an awesome job with the devotion,please don’t cut it out. It’s good to know there are many older than I am, now maybe I won’t worry so much about being old. lol I see I am not the only one that worries about little things and things I can’t do anything about. I just sat down get quiet and talk to the Lord about it ,I am sure glad he is willing to take them off my shoulders. I can’t wait to see what videos you do this week , you really have been putting out some good ones. My feet have been swelling more than usual because I have been eating things I shouldn’t,it’s so hard to stay away from things you love when you know your blood pressure is going to go crazy, even though I love salad’s,I just can’t eat them every day. I must confess I worry and I have struggled since my 30s with anxiety and depression. I have not closed my eyes since around 1 pm yesterday. One of the roughest nights I’ve had. I worry about my niece, Lauren, who has illness and she needs God’s guidance in making choices. I worry about sickness….not death, but being ill. I worry about being a burden to my sister and brother because I live alone but I cannot take care of all my needs. My biggest personal fear and worry is that I will have no option but to go into a nursing home. 😢 Confession is good for the soul so I really laid it out there! Sorry. God bless you both! Good morning, Marie and Calvin. Happy Memorial Day. Well, this is my 2nd Sunday in my new apartment. I found the frozen corn that you like to cook in my new Walmart. I could not find it in the Gastonia store. The store in the new city where I live is a great Walmart to shop in and has more inventory than the other store. I am fixing it for lunch and going to buy me some fried chicken. It is on sale this week and it is cheaper than I can cook it and it is so good. We had a very bad thunderstorm at 2 am and i just prayed. The last storm was really bad before I moved in here. I do worry but you know, you can not do anything about it just accept. It seems the area I have moved to has had alot of damage lately but we just have to pray about things because every single thing is in God's hands. I enjoy watching yall so much. I start my Sunday's with yall. Yall be safe and take care.

This time of the year is very painful for me. I lost lost my mother 4 years ago May 2nd. I lost my sister 3 years ago May 4th. I know they say time heals all wounds. I'm waiting for these wounds to heal. I'm waiting so that I don't cry everyday on this date. I'm not the same since they left me.

I’m 70, just turned 70, someone posted what someone was doing 50 or how old we were and how old, & I told them I was 50 years ago. You both look wonderful my left eye that I just is giving me fits this morning so I’m having to favor my right eye to watch this, it’s just another eye infection. I’ve got doctors appointments starting Tuesday all the way to Friday then the 6/5 have the right eye to remove a cataract. Sometimes my body just has to have a break for me. God bless all the veterans who sacrifice their lives for our freedom. May you both be blessed, safe. And God comfort you both ❤️🙏✝️

You should've had the No cook day (with the store bought ribs)... today (memorial day weekend) and just make the following Monday, a "do nothing" day, and just go out to a family BBQ instead of staying home...well even the weather not been good..
