    Strange as I've only just received notification of this vlog! As normal, excellent filming, footage, photography, editing, soundtrack. What more can I say. You're so talented! Excellent! 👍

    I loved Llandudno when I was there a few years ago, the weather was good which helps I also done a early morning shoot when I was the only one on the pier, l loved the stoney beach and I got some nice pictures which have only recently been put on Intsta. I watch a lot of bloggers but when they say this is a private/secret place I switch them off! and don't watch them anymore, photography is for everybody not just for the privileged few, so I am glad you mentioned it. Thank you for taking us back to Llandudno it bought back some lovely memories. I really enjoyed your pictures.

    10 minutes from me. You are right about the end shot at sun down. I have some great drone shots with the pier in the foreground and he mountains behind with the sun dropping down. Great video Ben.

      Thank you so much, really appreciated. I had the drone with me but it was far too windy but I've seen the shot done a few times, it's always very impressive with the pier leading you in. Thank you again and all the best.

    The Windy City, as we use to call the Ol' Llan back in the 80's.
    I saw Justin Hayward ( Moody Blues ), Gong, Ozrics, The Kinks and a few others at The Grand Hotel, armed with 1800 ISO film in our SLR's to sell to the local Chronicle paper, well, tried to ;-)
    The old iconic Pavilion Pier which sat in front of the Grand isn't there now, as it went up in a ball of flame in 94.
    The Great Orme is a fascinating and beautiful place, with gorgeous views of my mountains, sob.......
    Fantastic video mate. Thank you.

      I can understand why you called it the Windy City, it was very blustery there. Wow, I didn't know the grand use to have live bands on, it looks a fantastic building. Yeah the great Orme is amazing, I use to spend a lot of time up there, love it. Thank you so much mate, really appreciated, all the best.

    Great video Ben! I know Llandudno very well. Some of the bends on the Orme can be very dodgy! I used to drive them regulary. Ive not been out for nearly 5 weeks but I should be out soon enough to create something new. Really nice footage and images Ben! Nice work! Thanks for sharing!

      Thank you so much Dan, yeah I've noticed you've not brought anything out for a while, it might be a while until my next one too, work have very kindly swapped my shifts around, so I'm not able to get out at all this week or next. Llandudno is a great place and those roads on the Great Orme are amazing, just in the wrong car, should have taken my little one out for a spin. All the best mate, looking forward to your next vlog, take care.

    Nice video and photos Ben….I’m reasonably local to Llandudno and have many photos much like you got. Not sure if you are into night photography, but a great shot of the town and bay can be had from the top of the mound near elephants cave…it’s a great photo to get 👍

      Thank you so much Gary. Yes I need to return to do some night photography there, it was my plan on that day but stupidly I was only wearing my trainers, which got wet, so I went home, but it's certainly one to come back to, thanks for the tip mate. All best and thanks again.

    I'm with you, I love a rocky beach which is something we don't have here in Florida unfortunately. The sound it makes is beautiful! I absolutely love the northern coast of Wales but haven't been to this seaside town before. Absolutely loved the pier shot at 14:30. Great video Ben! Hope all is well. Have a great week!

    • @BenMcDonaldPhotography
      @BenMcDonaldPhotography  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you so much mate, yeah it's an amazing sound. Oh it's certainly worth a visit if you're in the UK, typical welsh seaside town, but with amazing historic buildings. Thanks again Paul, all the best mate.

    Loved that Ben, gave me a few ideas for when we’re there in August/September, if I don’t get there sooner as it may well be too busy to get most of those shots. Never noticed that small wooden jetty before but best was the colour of the water, are you sure that was Wales?
    Wish they would do something with the side of the hotel where you can still see some of the old fixtures but with the hotel being owned by Britannia Hotels I really can’t see it.
    The only time I think it’s ok to keep a location secret is when it comes to wildlife, I know a lot of bird photographers do, mainly to protect nests/eggs, which is completely understandable and I don’t really think you would have much chance with keeping that location secret, especially when you can see Llandudno written in giant letters from the the pier.
    Thanks for that, now get back to decorating 🤣
    Sorry but you shocked me saying you had 1000 subs, hand on heart I really thought you were way past that mate.

    • @BenMcDonaldPhotography
      @BenMcDonaldPhotography  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you so much Brian, yeah I've been in august and it's always very busy but you might be able to get a few shots from there. Yeah Britannia had the Grand in Scarborough and that, although an amazing building, is awful to stay.
      Oh I completely agree with wildlife, but wildlife photographers tend to do their own research on location, Landscape photography is a different ball game.
      Decorating complete, and thanks, yeah like I said, I wasn't really pushing for the 1000, it's more a nice landmark. Thanks again Brian, all the best mate.
