I just got the Hyperion pro a week ago, and now these walk into my life. Please make sure to compare the L & R buttons in both, since you mentioned these had a slight travel issue.
I didn't see the options in the poll, but would be cool if you compared just the ergonomics with the split pad compact

@@marianoamato2092 oh, no I'm not having any issues at all, so far they are great. Sorry to hear you are having connection issues, hopefully you can fix it and its not a wide spread issue. I was originally commenting on how this new mobapad showed up out of nowhere after I thought I researched all 3rd party options and decided on the nyxi hyperion pro. The omron buttons and HD rumble on the moba are tempting, but probably not enough for me to upgrade again so quickly. The draw distance on the bumpers he mentioned on the moba sounded like the only negative.
10:15 this is the mark of a truly professional review. Such a small detail that most people miss, but it’s actually super important for customers to know. I’ve bought a number of other joycons/controllers where the back paddles are really just macro buttons, and for me, it makes them unusable. Thanks for putting in the effort and being thorough…this is actually very helpful information.
Really glad I stumbled upon this video a few weeks ago. This made me get the M6 HDs. I've been using it for two weeks now and all I can say is wow! Definitely a bang for your buck.

I have long been following this journey on the quest for the best joycons and because I was armed with the knowledge I learned here, I found these joycons independently, and I couldn’t agree more, they are the best.
We've finally found the holy grail!
8:03 stiff is good sir.. You do not want them to make it loose or it will wobble on the switch just like all the controllers out there including nintendo. I love how premium this feels and how stable it is on the switch, it almost feels like a one single unit. That's how solid it feels and I hope it doesn't get loose overtime.

For me, I think we're really at a point in the Switch's life cycle where I cannot purchase anymore controllers that ONLY work with the Nintendo Switch. For this to make sense for me to purchase, it would need a center connection piece and PC support.
Good shout, wise choice since Switch 2 could be any time this year!
@@128KB I'll have to wait until the "Switch 2" comes out and see if it would be background compatible with this or if they'll make a "Switch 2" version of this. If these work with Switch 2 or they make a Switch 2 version, I'm never buying official joy cons. This is finally end-game! If the Switch 2 uses a different controller, I'd really hope they take inspiration from these 3rd party ergonomic joy cons.
Ordered the HD on the back of your m6s review as couldn’t imagine they would be any “worse.” Very much looking forward to getting them now. I did see in another video that you can pop out the rings if you are careful. Not a big issue with the all white HD ones but could be a solution if you want all round or octagonal rings but keeping the og colour scheme. Another cool feature is that you can use the sticks and d pad from the Chitu if you wanted to break up the white with some red.
You're totally right there! I didn't notice the gates being removable until after I'd filmed, I mention it in one of the upcoming comparison videos featuring these! Great shout on the chitu too! Hope you love them!
@@128KBwill have to catch the comparison video when it drops then. Shame they don’t sell different coloured plates and thumb sticks separately to add another layer of customisation to already awesome joy cons. Ordered the GameCube Nyxi ones too so will be interested to see which ones I prefer.

FINALLY, I've been looking for 3rd party controllers with NFC support.
Just got mine today based on your review. I had the Nyxi green hyperion pro controllers and there's absolutely no contest. If you have an Oled display Nintendo Switch these Mobapad m6hd are the absolute jam! Perfect compliment. Excellent for games like Fortnite fps..

@raph2theuniverse Yeah. Took a bit, but they gave me a tracking number and it's almost here. I asked on Reddit too, and someone mentioned the hold-up was probably just because of the festivities going on overseas.
I received these in the mail today. They're absolutely my favorites out of every Joycon alternative I've tried and I've tried almost every Joycon alternative by almost every brand. I'll happily buy a second pair in all black if they make one.

I think my M6HD is defective because my left joycon rumble vibrate slower than my right joycon.
Can you test is yours do the same?
Do they recharge attached to the switch?
Is the gyro aiming just as quick and responsive as Nintendo's Joy-con's or official Pro Controller? Usually 3rd party offerings wind up having slower less responsive gyro for whatever reason.

I have the nitro deck but the right joycon analog stick is seriously bad - Loved both your videos for the M6 HDs so I immediately went and found a set on ebay for like 50 quid! Sorted! Thank you!
As a PC gamer playing on a mechanical keyboard, the mechanical switches is nice to hear for a controller. I just ordered the DOYOKY GC controller and already spent way too much this week on other things, or I'd get one of these as well. It shows as $150 on their website, but on sale for $80. Idk if it's a perpetual sale, but it's definitely a good price for an excellent controller by the sound of it.
These genuinely are joycon perfected. I pulled off 6 pile drivers with Zangief in a row using the rocker dpad in Ultra SFII. Octagonal gate on left, round on right, mapped L/R to M1/M2. HD rumble and gyro is top-shelf. NFC, HALL Effect analogs, mechanical buttons, wireless with wakeup... what more could you POSSIBLY want in joycon? I disassembled the official joycon charge grip down to the middle strip and use that as a charge grip. It's perfect.

Crap. I got the Nitro Deck instead, and while it's better than the standard joycons, it's still not great for fighting games. Now I guess I gotta pay another $80 to get it right.

Also worth noting, they charge through the rail rather than by USB C. Which is a huge selling point for me. My other 3rd party controllers required charing by cord and they needed to be separatly charged which was annoying.
Thought I mentioned that but if not then you're correct! Got some other videos comparing these on their way and I do mention it there!
That's odd, pretty much every true joycon alternative universally charges by docking them with the switch.

Bugger... I bought the Hori Compact ones out of my Christmas money literally 2 weeks ago these look amazing love the Dpad feature. Oh well I am still really happy with the Hori ones to be fair and I've just bought the case to fit them with the Switch too so not sending them back now. Love the white colour so much... I'm in the UK too so I'd have to order overseas... Awesome review buddy.
The Compacts are still great, just a bit feature lacking in comparison! At least with the Compacts you know they're officially licenced and easy to deal with warranties etc! Glad you liked the video :)

I just got a set of the Hyperion pros in purple, and I played through all of Borderlands with them.They were decent but the mold of the joystick caps are terrible!. The MOBAs seem to have a much better mold. I wish these had more variety in color or I would have gone with these. I appreciate the in depth look at these, nice work.
Completely agree, I'm comparing these to the Hyperion's on Monday and I say how I really dislike the joystick caps 😅
Fun fact about Mario Wonder:
If you play the game in silent mode and with hd rumble activated, the first special phase of the carnivorous plants is possible to hear through the rumble the plants singing as if you were feeling the music.

I bought them thanks to your video. They're great! Love them! One issue is that I cannot fit my case for cartridges into the mobapad carrying case (it is also available on the site)
Had the Mobapad for a month now and it's absolutely worth getting, especially if you play a lot of ports (imo it's a must-have for FPS games). Only bad experiences so far is mine had a squeaky trigger (fixed with graphite powder), and they don't charge when attached to the switch, even if it's docked.
How to charge them then?
Considering getting these when the case is back in stock for non US shipping. Although have just bought the Nitro Deck (retro purple) for £56 and am enjoying it. It’s also available in shops like Argos, whereas these aren’t. Not a big thing really. These seem a bit more premium than the ND but will be interesting to see these compared against the ND+. Do like the reassuring feel of the shaped grips, doesn’t make you feel you could drop the Switch in handheld.
I find the market for joycon alternatives really strange. I’ve been through a lot of turmoil trying to find a suitable pair that I like the look of and work well. I think rgb is extremely tacky and almost every joycon “worth having” have it, even if you can turn it off. I was sold on the mobapads, but I wasn’t keen on the white because of the contrast with the black of the switch. So I’m going to reshell the entire thing to match… it’s gonna look so clean. Thanks a lot for your reviews! I’ve watched pretty much everyone featuring the mobapads I can’t wait hahah!

hello. question does your m6 hd charge when its on the switch? coz mine does. cant find how to turn it off
I had the same issue, app wouldn't install on my android phone. Click install nothing happened. I ended up using a PC to install it on my phone via ADB and it works!
They look great. I just prefer to have 4 back buttons for my gaming style. If they had that, I would consider them perfect!
Yeah I get you, since they're relatively small I reckon 4 back paddles would be a bit crampy though!
Best controller hands down. I just received it today and the product feels so premium. the ergonomics is the best for me. I have Nyxi Hyperion Pro, Crkd Nitrodeck, Binbok, Binbok Slim, and Hori Split pad pro. This is the best of all of them. The ergonomics is in between Binbok and Binbok slim with Nyxi Hyperion Pro and Nitrodeck joystick hall effects. It's got the best of both worlds. I'm buying a 2nd pair just in case they sell out. Their website doesn't look impressive so I do not know if this is a big company. I rather get a 2nd pair than find out they stop making them (I hope not)
I swore off the Binbok Joy-Con because I bought those ones twice, the first time I was playing Bug Fables, which required me to move the joysticks fast, which caused the joysticks to become loose, and the second time I bought them, they broke while I was playing, and the start button started pressing on its own at inconvenient times.

These are amazing. The only thing that is a missed opportunity for me is that you cannot connect them to make a Switch Pro like controller like you can do the the NYXI Joy Cons.
For the couple games that support analog triggers and and the use of a GameCube controller via an adapter are there any joycons that have analog triggers that work??
These are beautiful! But the price for my area is around 120$ish from Ali which is crazy af!! Especially with Switch's end life cycle now...

I think the $80 is fair. depending on shipping costs. my joycons that venge with my oled switch still work fine after 2yrs. somehow they lasted longer than 4 other sets on my other switch. I think I need to wait a little bit, but these are the replacement I want.

Hey, i had the same joy cons. What type of thumb grips are compatible with mobapad m6HD?
I know its kinda a late comment but the reason why hd rumble makes sounds like that is because its basically a speaker without the driver its a copper coil wrapped up like a speaker without the driver (the part you can see move if you remove the grill) apple taptic engine does this too! thats how you get more details in the haptics vs just thumping that a spinning weight would do!! also i really wish this brand would sell replacement plates and sticks because then I could get the blue ones for the HD!! thanks for the reviews!

Tough call, if you've got any other joycon alternatives that have a centrepiece then that should work! Maybe have a look on amazon or ebay for joycon centrepieces, I can't recommend any specifically yet as I haven't looked yet for standalone ones!

I’m just looking for some decent joycon alternatives while I play skyward sword HD. The left joycon is alright I guess, but the right one is so uncomfortable to use with the way the joystick sits over the buttons. I just want something that fits in the hand better and is usable for the sword and shield actions in the game. I actually miss the wiimote when I use the joycons. As odd a controller as it was it was great to hold

@@caetanodantas4880 yeah definitely liking them alot. I have ran in to skme issues with them. The left one sometimes has to be turned on twice for the switch to recognize it to sync wierlessy. Also the left one and i dont know of this is because im playing stardew valley split screen with my wife that the left controller sometimes doesn't read my imputs while im clicking a or b. Also the stick will sometimes stick where its wont read that ether. Might have a bad left controller. The right ones is perfect no problems. I still need to reach out to them about the left one.
The octagonal gates are likely to emulate the N64 analogue or the GameCube C-stick.
Am I missing the discount? Looks cheaper on aliexpress than buying directly from the website with your link.

I‘m not sure if the D-pad is oversensitive, if got quite the trouble in just pressing one direction (instead of two/diagonal), and there could be a bigger brother: in terms of economics it isn‘t the most confortable

good looking gamepad but then since i just modified my joycon replacing the shell to a transparent clear case and upgrading to a hall effect sticks. i guess this are better for people with big hands since mine is average.

Mobapad makes thier own case and there's a discount if you get the case with the joycons
I bought these and have been satisfied so far. Biggest drawback is that the joy sticks turn yellow within a week. Other people online have also been complaining about this same yellowing effect.
Yeah I discuss this is other videos about them but they have just released accessory packs with coloured or black thumbsticks in them, video next week.
Does anyone know of a good carrying Case that can accommodate the switch with these on or is my only option the flumsy one they sell?

do these constantly charge themselves while attatched to the switch? i hope not. i hope they only charge when docked. because thats the big reason i hate official joycons. they constantly drain power from the switch in handheld because theyre constantly charging back to 100 percent and i noticed a HUGE difference when using the split pad pro. it didnt drain my switch battery at all. because it has no batteries in it or features. and with all the features the mobopad HD has, it would drain even more power. which makes me nervous.
I just got mine today...was so excited for them and using them I find them uncomfortable and they make my hands cramp fast 😞

We finally get amazing alternatives, But we are getting a switch 2 most likely this year.
Got the app on iOS and it seems pretty standard but I haven't needed to adjust using the app for anything yet.

Oh, I thought I mentioned that they only charge whilst attached to the switch, there's no usb ports, so yes they are absolutely dockable whilst attached.
