because the BBC do this with the first series of their shows, they distance themselves, don't overpromote it, so when it's a sucess they can jump on it and say it's their own or if it fails they never had nothing to do with it

Why is the show called Fleabag?
Phoebe's nickname in real life is "Flea". She mentioned in interviews she called the show/the character "Fleabag" because it has a "messy" connotation to it. The Cambridge definition of "fleabag" is "a dirty and/or unpleasant person or animal". So it's quite suitable, haha. I just googled all that so this was a revelation to me, too. The more you know.

@@davidz3879my cousin, Phoebe gets nicknamed flea-bee. Sometimes shortened to flea, sometimes shortened to bee, depends on who’s calling her. Apart from my brother who has to be different and has always called her frisbee

good series bust she is a terrible person in it, cheater, liar, easy, awful.
She & all the other major characters are unlikeable, so it's difficult to root for, or even sympathise with, any of them.
I think you should watch shows which have powerful and kind hearted Heros and cruel villens with no humanity. That would be best for you.
