i can't believe how little general coverage stuff like this gets. this is a low key really important channel.
I had to look up "world's fastest pontoon boat" in order to find this video and channel
From a driving standpoint, these are extremely impressive but from the spectator standpoint the dragsters draw more of a crowd. You get more of an effect with the dragsters vs the boats
@HELLSP4WN if you've never seen top fuel in person, you have to. Trust me
But important to who though?
@@hammerlane3871For sure. I just commented about seeing the top fuel boats on Lake LBJ way back in '95, and they were impressive even then. They sounded just like the top fuel cars, which I've experienced in person quite often.
Really appreciate the opportunity guys 🤙🏼 hope we can do more soon 🔥
⛽
That was NUTS
Amazing stuff! Thanks for sharing
I still can’t believe that other CZcams channels havnt come close to TRC. Dude we get to watch this for free man. The editing, production value the cleanliness and execution of the cinematography not to mention actually finding the vehicles themselves. What a damn channel man.
I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you posting this. Please help bring more people to the sport
I'm SOOOOOOO glad you guys did a video on drag boat racing. The sport has slowly been dieing for years and we need all the help to keep it going
It's expensive, that's why Budweiser bailed on Hydroplane but then they went to queer beer, lol, bad trade off.
Let me tell you WHY you need so much help to keep it going: That's because it's not interesting to watch. Simple as that. I'm a petrolhead, love mechanics and love going fast, but this is about as exciting as watching paint dry. I mean the first time (maybe two) you watch it, you are impressed. It's like watching Danny D fuck Lana Rhoades... for 2 seconds. I mean sure the man has a big dick, but it's not really exciting.
Absolute gem! Let’s keep it going and work together to grow this Bad Ass sport. ✌🏼🏁
I remember watching these guys in the early 80’s when Rick Hendrik was a boat owner, and Eddie Hill was a driver. A lot of guys driving smaller blown river boats just sat in the open air. They were really nutz back then. They also had a flying start back then too.
Most things were better in the 80's. Like Group B.
Anytime I see a drag boat, all I can think of is Dan Akroyd in "The Great Outdoors" driving "Suck my Wake" LOL!
Cleet needs one of these🤣🤣🤣
Watching these boats go this fast is the most insane thing you will ever experience. I go every year!
Our brewery sponsors the war party TAF.
Hope to see more crowds out!
I mean you could drive the boat going this fast
Top fuel boat drags are one of the coolest things I ever witnessed.
It’s great to see these things still hummin. Jim, Brien and I finished the plug in the early 2000’s. We were nearly laughed out of the races at Red Bluff with the non-standard outrigger style, but look at the Bullet hull now. It’s through the continued effort of all the folks, both current and prior that have continued to advance this sport to do things that I think are equally impressive as the achievements of NHRA and F1. I’m honored to have played a part in this and in awe of the successes you all have achieved! Thank you all for your contributions to continue to change to perspective of what’s possible and keep new ink in the history book! Well done!
It's now been over 15 years since my ex SIL and I attended a top fuel drag boat race at Red Bluff. She lives in Redding, was absolutely flabberghasted and still talks about it.
I'm glad to see TFH boats are still running since the LODBRS is not around anymore.. such an amazing sport!!
Holy smokes! I've still have goosebumps from just watching! I can't imagine watching or driving one. Kudos.🇺🇲
Actually, you don't drive them....they drive you!
Sounds like demons in the water.
Fish be like: OH HELL NAHHHH FUCK NO I RATHER BE ON LAND THAN BE WITH THAT 😂
I was there at firebird lake when they ran that 273mph pass. Top fuel hydro is the most insane motorsport racing. To go 0-275 mph in 3 seconds on water is something else. It really sucks this is the last season at this famous man made lake as they are removing the dragstrip and lake to build a shopping mall...
CleetusMcfarland's new video incoming "Kyle beat me with his k24 so we got a new boat"
U said it b4 I did 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Freedom Lake
Glad to see SDBA still kicking. Rick Morrow and myself ran a Pro Mod hydro in the mid 90's. Started with a Sunkist jet and moved up from there. Looking forward to seeing some great passes this year. keep it goin!
Wow ! Awesome, need more !! Many thanks.
Who else appreciates a 100ft rooster tail? 🫡
These things are wild. They're always on the verge of takeoff
Yes. The operaters are never sure if the should be wearing scubba gear or a flight jacket.
272mph on water, HOLY SHIT.
Subscribed and thankful!😊
Please do more videos like this, holy crap those were fast
Man doing those kinds of speeds with the water resistance is just insane, man I bet wrecking in one of these is horrifying though.
This it’s something different thanks 🙏 broski keep up the great work
*_There is only one thing crazier than a Top Fuel Drag Car... Top Fuel Drag Boat._*
I have been on water in excess of 100 and that was plenty exciting. Can't imagine what close to 300 must be like on the water. Those boats don't just go fast, they accelerate at mind numbing G's for entire run. So many things can go wrong and when they do, boats are obliterated. Even with the breakaway safety capsule, the forces exerted on body can kill.
*_Unlimited Hydro boats go fast, Drag Boats not only go fast, they get to top speed in seconds._*
Never knew this existed! Thanks for a new hobby to check out!
Man I wanna go fast but not that fast, these dudes belong in a heros hall of fame
These drivers are Crazy AF!
Same like Koenigsegg Jesko top speed & Bugatti Chiron ⚡️🔥☄️
Love the boat content. Keepit comin
i've never seen a fish wish he'd been swimming somewhere else so fast! 😁
Thank you for I have missed TFH racing and drag boat racing. The best racing of all sports.
I want to see them pull a skier!
See who can skip em across the water the farthest as they ragdoll to their death 😂
@@creedns Now that good Entertainment for the whole family right there!!
Нужно такое под водой устраивать, с кастомными гоночными субмаринами
do also they do burnouts to prep the surface?
I remember the hydroplane boat races on Belle Isle in Detroit years ago. Like Nascar. You have to experience it in person. Man, it is a heck of an experience. Salute to the racers and teams 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Belle Isle races are the best
Rip to the fish
Spirit of Texas ran 274+ in 1000 ft in Parker Az
I can't even imagine 273 mph on water. My grandfather pushed a 20 foot Baja with a Mercury 200 on it and it would get up to like 65 to 70 mph. It felt like we were going twice as fast though.
273 mph on water in 3 seconds that would blow your mind
Ok I have a few questions
First how many Gs are they pulling?
Second how many gallons of fuel per run?
Third have the engines been dyno'd to get the 10K hp mark?
Which is faster, top fuel dragster or this?
Are propellers some sort of secret? I saw no props here. What the hell
Imagine being the fish in that lake ._.
Aqua man don’t have shit on this boat
Straight talk, dig it!
AMAZING CONTENT
Damn that looks like fun! That feeling must be intense
Outstanding shipmates. Press on. USS Kitty Hawk CV-63. Jan 1980 to July 1983. Boat lover for life.
Wish I lived around water. Would be awesome to see these things run in person! Very cool machines, can’t imagine those speeds in water !
Sounds like a fun ride. Would love to ride in the back seat if they had a 2 person capsule. Would be one hell of a ride.
No you wouldn't. Don Prudhomme tried fuel boats back in the day he said never again
Finally! Been waiting a long time for you to come film these guys.! You gotta check out Grand Prix hydroplane racing ! HRL is the best series. GPA is also good
"Liquid Violence"
I've loved these boats since I was a kid. Can only afford an rc outrigger boat but still awesome
I was fortunate enough to be on a vacation motorcycle trip back in 1995, and saw top fuel drag boats at Marble Falls in Texas. August, and hotter than all get out, but man! Woo-Hoo! To hear those things up close in person, was like being at the drag strip for the top fuel rails and funnycars! Awesome experience to see those boats go!
I once skied behind a 10,000hp drag boat, well to be clear my arms skied behind a 10,000hp drag boat
Awsome. Thank you from the bottom of my bow tie 🎀 heart
10,000 hp. That is insane!
Man when I was little me and my father would go to High Point North Carolina and watch top fuels pass. I think its closed for boat drag racing. I need to find a place on the East Coast but heck at least I still have NHRA. Nice vid
Do you guys run on the east coast
Man those fuel pumps (probably mechanical) must be insane. 1 gallon per 100 ft.
Y'all need to come back to Morgan City Louisiana at Lake Palourde when they had 1976 national championships.
How can I find out more on the locations of these races?
I hope that they come to their senses and reopen Firebird lake in Phoenix. It's really the best place for this type of racing.
Need one of those badboys in a street car.. with the same gearing.
This is awesome motor sport 👍🏻👍🏻
Insane power 👌
That is truily mind blowing fast it's just amzing how fast these boots are and by looks of things xstemely well build koudos all they a nove said
Like strapping yourself to a bomb and hoping it doesn't explode
1000 HP is wild💀
Wish they'd come back to Agusta GA
I can see where twin, counter rotating shafts would start to get very important. Countering the sideways movement of a steep pitched prop plus devide the twisting force of so much power by two would save some breakage. Ive been over 100 many times. This is another planet compared to that I know.
Hey Jim what about adding pontoons to your race boat and a wing lol
At bass tournament
Me: yeah i need to get to my spot soon as possible
Nuttz !
Way back in the late 70s I was watching Boat races on TV, "Hydroplanes" i believe they called them. Well im sure those boats were nothing compared to these, but one of them bounced up, and its prop came out of the water for one second. It stalled, and a few minutes later they had it towed up to a dock. They opened the engine compartment, and the whole thing had melted into a "modern art masterpiece!"
Unlimited hydroplanes are still around, but they're a different beast. The hydroplanes are built light with turbine engines from helicopters and they go on a round course, so they're at top speed for much longer than these drag boats. Unfortunately the hydroplanes are rather accident prone and expensive to run so they rarely get more than 4 on the water at a time these days.
Is that a sonic boom?
Why did drag boat racing leave Mav tv?
This is funny cars on water!
@cleetus needs one of these 😂🎉
I was down there in San Angelo, standing just off the starting line. That thing just shook your whole body; BTTB...
Super
This is up there with drag
How in the world do they maintain prop pitch with such torque? Incredible metallurgy!
You guys call that a bullet boat? Man, do the the US Navy have these as torpedoes?
I think the water speed record is only "317ish mph." these guys are almost there.
Imagine the fish underneath 😂
I've seen some crazy things in my time but this his to be right up there jesus 😂
TFH is truly the bddest sss form of drag racing I've ever seen..... The drivers are truly brave souls...
The voice on the video says he's never seen a faster pass made. Well in 1978 a boat called The Spirit of Australia made a pass at 317.6 MPH.
Is there a reason drag boats are mostly on a hydroplane design? and not v bottom?
Wow boats
That's awesome. Iet me ride with you 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
First, you have to stop by a mortuary and make pre-arrangements.
@@blackholeentry3489 lm a retired embalmer from Norfolk VA. I'm ready let's get it on 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Needs more power 😁
I didn't know balls of steel could float! Holy Fack
Just got to get past that 274.92 Scotty Ran now.. 🙂🙂🤘🏻
That was 1320'
It’s pretty crazy seeing the W-Drive and these fairly innocent looking 2 blade props underneath these top fuel hydro’s especially compared to the offshore racing props
Amazing just engineering at its absolute best fucken love it 🤘
