    I had a power frunk installed in my Blue Model Y Performance, and it's hands down the best option I've added!
    The frunk is great when you have two or three grocery bags, which, in the trunk will tip over and spill everything out. In the frunk, it keeps the bags upright.
    Day at the beach, and you have sandy towels or trunks? Stick 'em in the frunk, and don't worry about getting your car all sandy!
    On a long drive with young, screaming kids? Ok... no. NOT suitable for that.
    Seriously... it's somewhat pricey, but once you have a power frunk, you'll use it more then the trunk! You can open it from the interior screen, from your phone app, via voice command...and close it the same way!

I probably should have done the full doors or the whole car but didn't think that door dings would stop at the film - they usually put a crease in there somewhere. Keys and that’s it. If you forgot it you cannot enter into your car. No smartphone. A key and that’s it. Price is also very high for those keys. Tesla it’s 15 euros to have one and set in a few seconds. And you can also open it via a smartwatch and even a ring… no other cars has done more.

    Ok, Hey, everybody curbs their wheel eventually. And feels totally dumb about it. I did about 1 week after picking it up. Ouch! Then I looked at it and the tire wasn't even rubbed and the rim had two sections of about 6 inches each with some rough and some slight rash. So I got it home, took the wheel cover off, got out the fine toothed file and carefully filed down the sharp bits sticking out and then eased the area so it blended in with the aluminum rim (19in Geminis). It looks fine at about 3ft and not too bad if you get up close. I know, yours are black so filing will expose the aluminum which just looks worse. But you could do a touch-up job and see if that is acceptable. Anyway sad to hear but life goes on and once you fix it you'll really watch those turns and just ignore the knucklehead hitting the horn behind you for wussing around that turn ;) Cheers.

    Tesla knows a front dash is important yet considers it a luxury item offered only on X and S. That’s all you need to know about the billionaire Musk and tesla. At this price point, Tesla is fooling customers, me included. I test drove some other EVs and I think many are approaching tesla in many aspects. Some are even better. Musk is a greedy guy and has a big ego. Otherwise he would have ordered many changes to Y at 63k.

      @@ncgolfer99 so just curious but do you think a mach e gt performance at 70-75k is any better than a 68k model y performance?
      What about the 60k without markups Kia ev6 gt line fully loaded. Which are still slower with less range than a model y lr.
      Also what would you do if you could to change the car for the better?

    • @ncgolfer99
      @ncgolfer99 Před 2 lety

      @@4literv6 for some yes, those cars may be better because of apple car play or android auto. Also better if they can get $7500 federal tax credits and get timely service. Tesla still has the advantage in experience and brand image but the center dash not part of Y and 3 is cheap and reflects poorly on designers and the rigidity of the process. I do understand the process to change a single part is tedious but Tesla is the one claiming process advancements and agility. There is simply no excuse for the poor design choices and the adamant attitude to continue to avoid fixing such glaring mistakes. Nothing one can say will convince me that center dash is not needed. If it is not needed why have it in the premium models? Musk took a feature that existed in automobiles for a hundred years and took it away and claims great design. Stupid is what it is.

    • @4literv6
      @4literv6 Před 2 lety

      @@ncgolfer99 wow you sure are passionate about it. From what I've seen so far with the markups on most legacy evs.
      Lack of reliable easy to access&fast charging stations, lack of plug n charge capability being standard, lack of battery pre conditioning, lack of heat pumps being standard.
      Fit n finish issues, multiple recalls that can't be done ota, lack of ota updates and just the general lack of legacy dealers even wanting to sell the few evs they get. Due to low service requirements and zero oil changes.
      There is basically a near zero advantage to owning one of them. Heck gm&Ford had over 30% of all their dealers back out of even selling their ev line's, Cadillac lost over 40% of existing dealers over not supporting the new evs. I'm in a major Ford area and their is 1 fully certified ev dealer near me and they only have 2 qualified ev tech's on staff. Vs over a dozen none ev tech's.
      But hey everyone's gotta do what they gotta do for that Apple car play right. And tax credits you only get when you file. So you pay full price up front unless it's a lease. Full taxes and full interest. Along with markups of course to.👍🏻😀
