3 BEST TEMPLES IN BANGKOK THAILAND - Wat Arun, Wat Pho, Grand Palace

  • We were on a mission to visit the 3 best temples in Bangkok Thailand and we found them! Taking the Chao Phraya Express Boat is an easy way to visit both Wat Arun and Wat Pho which are two of the most beautiful Thailand Temples in the entire country!
One of the most popular Bangkok tourist places, the Grand Palace was a little more difficult to find. We didn’t end up making it in time to enter. We decided to come back the next day and we were finally able to explore the Grand Palace Thailand. We were shocked at how many other people were exploring it too! The Grand Palace was filled with the most tourists we have ever seen.
Our favorite Bangkok Temple was hands down Wat Arun Temple, otherwise known as the Temple of the Dawn. It is one of the only temples in Bangkok left that you can climb on. We got lucky while visiting Wat Arun because there weren’t that many tourists there.
A quick boat ride across the Chao Phraya River led us to another Buddhist Temple, Wat Pho or Temple of the Reclining Buddha. The Reclining Buddha is one of the most iconic figures in all of Bangkok Thailand and we were happy to see it. Wat Pho was pretty busy with tourists, but it was an incredible experience to finally see the Reclining Buddha.
In our opinion, the 3 Best Temples in Bangkok Thailand are:
    1. Wat Arun - Temple of the Dawn (100 Baht entrance fee)
    2. Grand Palace - (500 Baht entrance fee) Incredibly impressive, although expensive and too many tourists
    3. Wat Pho - Temple of the Reclining Buddha (100 Baht entrance fee)
    * Unlike other travel vloggers, we live and work in a different country each month. Our channel will show you what it’s like to live abroad while exploring top tourist destinations and hidden gems. We will eat local cuisine but still find the best spots to have American food while overseas. Each month we rent an apartment or airbnb in a different city or country, so follow along on this journey and learn about countries around the world. We hope you enjoy our travel vlog, don’t forget to subscribe!

Yes and these people are the same people that contribute to the Thai tourist attractions and shows and rides where elephants are used and abused and broken.. all these people are so occupied with themselves and self centred; they think they know where they are and that they can 'see' but they dont see and they dont look!

Stacia Sleight , it was bonkers ! Xmas means little to me for all sorts of reasons which is why I leapt on a plane on Xmas day. Arrived in Bangkock at around 10:00 am local time which was around a quarter past looney my time. The GP was heaving ! People everywhere and yet it was so tranquil and I felt safe and at peace with myself. I just looked back at my photos ( dam I was I had the kit I’ve got now )..... ah well all the more reason to shoot of there again. 😋

I’m Thai and want to tell you that
no need to worry about pronunciation. 😸
Most of all Thai people don’t care it much, it isn’t a big deal,
some feel you are cute when you pronounce it incorrectly.
In fact , Royal Society of Thailand has install the certain
Royal Thai General System of Transcription for romanising
Thai words but that system might not strong enough to
encourage the entire citizen in country to use that system.
Not like “Pin Yin” romanising system of China that’s popular
and all Chinese and foreingers can rely on it, everyone accepts it.
P sound words always romanise to Ph, for example, ภูเก็ต
is pronounce like “PU-GED” / “POO-GED” but be written “PHUKET”
The Institue doesn’t promote this system much enough
so it is used only in bureaucratic applications such as name of
city, province, road, transportation, place, office etc. and
small group of acedemic persons use it. 😹
So, pronounce as the way you got it.

A Buddhist temple had existed at the site of Wat Arun since the time of the Ayutthaya Kingdom. It was then known as Wat Makok, after the village of Bang Makok in which it was situated. (Makok is the Thai name for the Spondias pinnata plant.) According to the historian Prince Damrong Rajanubhab, the temple was shown in French maps during the reign of King Narai (1656-1688).

By around the pagoda on the top we can see the view of Bangkok 360degree panorama. This temple is also one of Royal Temples. It was only one temple in Bangkok that placed relic(the authentic fragment of the bone)of Buddha (in the base of pagoda) from India in the reign of King Rama 5

For Thai, yes it crazy thing that we got noisy in temple. Because temple is peaceful area. We need silence to be peace in mind in Buddhist way.
But Grand palace officer try to acknowledge to Guide's tourist on this issue as well. but seem cannot help.
And I think we are know about Chinese accent , the language need to "loud voice" to correct the meaning. So large group , guide's tourist need to talk loud.

You guys did an amazing job! This is like, one of the best travel Vlog I had watch recently. Welcome! I live in Chanthaburi east of Thailand(about 250km far from Bangkok) and would like to recommend if you have some time to visit :D Maybe not too exciting experiences here but it's quite meditative place with waterfall and beach(not as beautiful as the southern beach tho but it's calm and quiet.), mangrove pathways, old town near river and temple on the mountain(Wat Khao Sukim). Its quite a small town where many of our hipsters like to travel here and take some good shot lol.

Thanks you're really sweet :) You can ask me anything if you're planing to visit my hometown :D Thailand has 76 provinces so we have a lot more than Phuket, Chiangmai and Bangkok to explore. But I don't recommend you to go near the Malaysia boarder tho, it's dangerous there.
For some info about Wat Phrakaew(aka.Grand Palace, the area where you guys visit) it placed at the outer area of our King's Palace and where the higher royalty dwell so they need to really carefully aware of tourist to some degrees. As you can't really messed up in those reign(Most Thai knows our tradition and we're aware of it but many foreigner aren't, just like Stacia's mistake to wear a pant with holes XD) And with more and more tourists every years, more problems also occurred so they decided to cut some parts off from tourists. And as we can see from your video here, Chinese tourist shouting and speaks very loud which is unacceptable in the Palace.
ps. I apologized as a Thai people for someone trying to scam you. These people bring shame to many of us.

No worries. You pronounced it just the way it's spelled. Unless you're a native speaker, you wouldn't know the H was silent. Thai is my second language. Just in case, if you go to an island in Thailand, you pronounce KOH (island) with a soft "o". It's pronounced GAWH. PHO & KOH are commonly mispronounced by tourist but local Thais won't correct you because they don't want you to lose face.
