Silent Hill 2 - What is Happening to Room 208?

There are four rooms labelled 208 in the game. All of them have strange occurrences happening in them, some more important than others. Here's a compilation of these rooms.

it's interesting that in the sequence you encounter these specific rooms is james getting a little bit closer to the truth of what he did.
1st room: "Who could've..." = you, james. you could have.
2nd room: 208 is reminding you...
3rd room: seems like nothing is going on but the key you pick up is what directly leads you to "fight" pyramid head but also notice the book on the desk has a symbol of a butterfly. not to mention the red square save point where james mentions makes his head hurt every time he sees it.
4th room: well, the answer is pretty self evident, esp. the scene prior when maria has that short monologue with james, pretty much summoning up the entire purpose. "dont you remember?" "you were always so forgetful"

Brilliant! I just wonder wtf is going on with 208? However, this also makes my heart be warmer, since this is another good argument that SH4: The Room is very good in this series of four games made by Team Silent.
