@@Moon_Light2008 You'd need to be very careful and white would probably have the ability to always win (if played perfectly) since you can start capturing a piece and forcing a trade from turn 1. But you can probably still be tricksy and manage just _one_ turn in the carnage where you can't get hit and thus winning
Rough if you gotta checkmate a queen-moving king though!

and I don't play with very good chess players who also don't use strategy and imagen house rules but If you take a piece you get slapped with a fish (queen only edition) you know to stop the constant trading

A perfect opportunity for Sully to win his first House Rules games
It was on February 2, when Sully took his first Horse Rules game of Chess!

Only NRB could convince me to watch a near 45 minute game of chess.
I was not disappointed
I've watched plenty of 45 minutes chess matches and this was one of the most entertaining of them
Well it took 8 and half minutes for the first move to happen
All the king's horses,
And all the king's men,
couldn't put Adam's winstreak
together again.
Adam with his natural hair colour feels like such a blast from the past. Now we just need the ding whenever he does something for the true What Culture experience.
Also this House Rules is an absolute gold mine as ever.
It feels like they swapped hair styles before the cameras turned on, tripped me up enough to think "Are you sure?" when they introduced themselves

As a peeson that plays chess quite regularly, I instantly thought, "oh no, I'm going to lose my mind watching this, but also love it, this is very stupid"
As a former career event rider, I instantly thought “huh, I know nothing about chess but I know I’ll love this!” and then promptly lost my mind watching this because it’s so stupid 😂

Congrats to King Sully for finally winning a game in this wild Horse Rules game play. I always knew he was a master strategist.
Blunder 1: this episode should've been named - Horse Rules
Ok, since you want a legit analysis, here:
Blunder 3: 33:00 Adam made a mistake; he should've done N4b5 (if my notation is correct, the knight on d4 taking the B5 Knight). It would have mitigated his early loss in the game (Blunder 2)
Other than that, Sully cleaned up nicely for his mating sequence, good work there!
Some other notes that Sully has more experience:
1. knowledge of center control
2. commonly having more space indicates advantage
3. one hand for everything (he moves and takes the opponent's pieces with... one hand; this is like, customary when you play competitively/seriously)
4. With respect to projected ELO Rating, I can't really assess despite him mentioning losing to the lowest computer rating since this is a different board game altogether

I'm glad to know that between shooting proper episodes for No Rolls Barred, making content for Parts Fun Known and Sullivan's improv comedy show with Rosie, the two of them have time to sit down with each other and just horse around. Ya love to see it. 😎👍🏻

I regularly play chess, and watch major tournaments, and this was hilarious! I occasionally made the mistake of looking at positions seriously, seeing what the best move would've been lol
Also pleasantly surprised by Sully's chess knowledge!

There used to be a popular thing at anime cons called Cosplay Chess where a bunch of cosplayers were chess pieces controlled by two players.
...I don't remember if there was any twist beyond that.

I have a fun (horrible) house rules idea.
Mastermind, but instead of pegs its those beanboozled horrible flavour jelly beans.
Each turn you let the guesser know which colours and positions were right, but here's the kicker, they have to eat that whole row, meaning they have to remember which combinations they've previously done while also having to eat something potentially unpleasant. And when they guess correctly, the other player has to eat the beans they put out.

At the point where sulivan said that moving the knight on H6 to G4 was the best move I think that instead Adams best move was to move the threatened piece to F5 (G7 would be my choice) This avoids the peice that was threatening it and Sulivan only has 2 peices he can use to recapture whilst adam has 4
In sequence
White: G3 would then have to take F5
Black: E7 recaptures F5
White: E3 recaptures F5
Black: D6 recaptures F5
This trades the same number of peidces for each side, but leaves adam with a knight inside sulivans gaurd where it can act as a support for more aggreive plays
Finally, this is the analysis that I was searching for!

Snakes and Ladders but every time you get a snake you do a shot, and every time you get a ladder... the other player does a shot :)

You guys should play kerplunk with varying degrees of difficulty, like use chopsticks, pliers, or those grabber tools older people use. Each marble that falls could be a different punishment, like taking a shot, or a pie to the face. I personally like the idea of them getting drunker as the game goes on and the tools getting harder, could call it "kerdrunk"

I know just enough about chess to yell at Adam whenever he blunders.
The game was lost at 33:05 where, instead moving the horse on D4 to capture the horse on B5, Adam moved his King to a position where it could be Checked *while* letting Sully get a horse in the process. (The march into horse jail at the end didn't help either).
Over all though, wonderful content; something about House Rules brings out the best in these two, I feel. I mean, Sully's normally a barrel of laughs anyway, but something about this series drives him insane.
Can't wait to see what's up next! You guys always seem to surprise me.

You should have done only bishops, but with all of Sully's bishops starting on white squares and all of Adam's starting on black squares...

@patakid95 assuming your opponent follows the same strategy. Although, unless this is their first time playing chess, as soon as they see you doing it they will also start doing it.
@@FatherTime89 When any of the kings get checked, they will be forced to move away, no matter the players rookie status. And the same way it's impossible to chechmate with only one bishop, it's impossible to checkmate here. Your bishops will always be either unable to check the opponent's king, or unable to prevent it from escaping. You can prevent one way of escape with your own king, but even in a corner that's not enough.
No way for either side to checkmate = automatic draw before anyone makes any moves.
It's a shame Sully won when he did, I was really looking forward to seeing Adam getting his king to the other side and call in the GigaHorse. I legit want that to be a rule in real chess.

Now you need to take this even further and play bug horse chess. Two chess boards, back-to-back with four players. Any horse that one team defeats can be put back into play by the other player on that same team.

I really want Sullivan and Adam to play Uno whilst wearing monochromatic spectacles. They can give each other just one clue to the other player, after they've put a card down but the clue cannot involve any direct colour words, I.E: red, blue, yellow etc.
