Going over to The Land That Time Forgot in that little tinnie is stupid and reckless. That crossing is notorious for sudden changes in conditions and of course there are large crocs there that do take people and will jump in a small boat to do it. I think you are very lucky to be alive. This is the sort of foolishness that can cause locals big problems.

Ive always camped on Garden Island (the smaller one in front of gould) it has toilets and firepits!
Its awesome camping and fishing over there though - just watch out for the coral Bommies around garden and pack the bushmans. Its well worth it! Hope you guys had a great time!

I’ve fished that area ( Hinchinbrook Is ) and surrounding Islands and there are some big mother salties hanging out there, especially around the beaches and coves. No swimming or wading on dusk or dawn and sleep way off the shoreline preferably up off the ground.

All due respect, I’ve been camping and towing for 25 years. I can’t for the life of me understand how your rig is bogged the way it is? Did you reverse towards the river? Why would you put the caravan there, right next to the river bed. Sorry that’s weird. Click bait me thinks.
I wondered about that too but he did say in the video, that he had to reverse back as far as he possibly could, so as to get a run up the narrow beach, to get up the steep bank in front of him.

Lol, we actually weren’t planning on filming this day (as we said) it was meant to be a leisurely day out fishing with friends but as Brian said, we reversed back to try and get a run up (the rest of the sand was hard as rocks. As we got to the water we sunk. Sorry we can’t film everything! 😅

And as for the trip to the Island it definitely is a great idea not a bad idea. You both got to think positive about yourself. As others have said, bananas are a thing from 'back in the day' i.e. Capn Coook times where bananas made other food go off more quickly. Like when you put bananas near other fruit / veg to make them ripen faster

I can tell you that I & my wife got thrown out of a tinny 44 years ago & I was run over by the boat at night & jamed in the engine Prop finding my way out by feeling the boat bottom & working out were the back was.
I ended up with giant bruises that's all! ( My life started again from there)

No bananas in boats came from fishing and it isn’t just a luck thing. They give of ethylene gas which fish can smell and are repelled from.
