It didn't matter when I saw it, but for anyone reading this: with Yorion, if you play a second one always keep the older Yorion, because then the new Yorion's trigger can exile the first one and you get to blink everything *again* in your end step. :)
Watching SO spend so much time juggling battles only to get punched in the face by Greasefang reminded me of the sword/gun scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Sometimes simple is better.
I'm playing a deck very like this in Historic at the minute, only I'm running All Will Be One. It makes all invasions shoot your opponent (or their stuff) for damage equal to their defence counters every time they ETB. If you survive to Yorion with All Will Be on the battlefield, you'll usually oneshot someone. Very fun.
That second match was hilarious. He puts together this massive rube goldburg machine of battles, flickering and value and everything and then...Greasefang Parhillion smash.
It would be another card in the graveyard for escape card purposes (Kroxa), and he hadn't seen Invoke Despair in this match yet. I can see the argument either way, but I think Seth did it right.
@@natejablonski no way. His main way to get rid of Kroxa is to exile with an Ossification. And even without Invoke it's wrong if you have flicker effects like Yorion
yep, also should have kept the Elesh Norn, too. Flipping Tarkir with Yorion was just a chump blocker in the end. Could've double tutored, double drawn with Omnath, double remove with Skyclave... tough matchup though
Match two, I didn't even think about that - Scavengers is basically another Soulflayer, but slower to grow and it becomes bigger. You can get a lot more consistency into your Soulflayer deck now.
1:02:05 Just so you know Seth, you're still probably alive if they Sheoldred here. You have a Sheoldred under the Ossification, meaning you can blink it with Yorion, force the opponent to legend rule a Sheoldred, then exile the remaining one when the Ossification returns. Obviously in the end it didnt matter because they had Davriel, but still worth keeping in mind.
Reminder that keeping the old Yorion when you get a 2nd one out means that you can target the old Yorion with the new Yorion's trigger which gets you another Yorion trigger at the end of your turn when it returns.
It's honestly incredible that I'm all on on enchantments and I've never really even looked at fable. I'm mostly just proud of red for actually having a good enchantment.
Match 4 game 3 against Rakdos. You should have ossification the goblin token and tarkir the fable, so when you can blink again there is nothing under ossification. Later on it killed you with invoke despair giving them back a fable.
Damn lost to a hexproof guy. If only there was a battle you could put in your 5 color battle deck that made your opponent sacrifice a creature OR planesalker as it's etb or something. That would be crazy.
After watching this deck, all i can say is ive never seen a deck pop off as much as this one and do literally nothing to advance towards winning the game. All the battles do is draw cards, ramp, or destroy things. None of them actually kill the opponent. He needs a 1 of card to tutor for with ikoria or something to actually win the game.
If you use the kiki to copy your goblin token it's mana neutral, so you can get in more damage. This happened multiple times.
Před rokem
I think you should let the leyline binding ability resolves, then cast your own leyline and get more value of the exiled invasion of alara, cause its an etb
You chose all the best battles, except the one that makes opponent sacrifice a creature =D Loved the deck, but I would of sideboarded, or even maindecked, the sacrifice battle. So much janky hexproof in that format, so you can destroy most things and force a sacrifice for things you can't target. Great as always though!
You should add more Invasion of Tolvada, because there is a really strong combo with it and Yorion. You get a Yorion in the graveyard, resurrect it with the Invasion, bounce the Invasion with Yorion, and then get a second resurrection for free. My Yorion + Battle deck is actually based on a Doom Foretold shell, and it's been very successful. Mulligan for Invasion of Gobakhan if you suspect a Greasefang deck, as you can seriously hose them by exiling their expensive vehicles before they can discard them. 48:16 it was more like an Arena punt rather than the opponent's because it doesn't automatically give you a stop on the end step and the token disappears. The other untapped Reflection was summoning sick. Making a token in their end step was probably an attempt to not get blown out by removal, although I don't think it would have achieved much in this case Btw why didn't you take the Ossification for Kroxa at 47:07?
47:10 did you not notice the other ossification in there? why take something to discard to the kroxa, just take the second ossification and remove him outright
38:21 wouldn't it have been better to flash your leyline binding in to get rid of their Enigmatic Incarnation? get rid of the engine before it can start, not just the first target for it?
"if you're playing magic the gathering, you start with 4 copies of fable of the mirror breaker" is accurate and sad, with a tinge of personal horror. I lived original kamigawa so much, I really wanted it to have an impact on standard and modern. Just... Not like this... The new Fable of the Mirror Breaker sound effect sounds a lot like a motorcycle driving past a house...

Seth, they got invasion of Alara off of Incarnation by searching for a clone that can copy any permanent
Yeah, they discarded Clever Impersonator to hand size in Game 2. That's probably what they grabbed.
@@natejablonski You can tell that's what they grabbed when Seth mouses over their Alara copy.
@@ChaosForce08 yes, at 43:20
Ah, that makes way more sense.
Ah yes, I was wondering why I kept seeing clever impersonator pop up LOL
Watching mono green nykthos getting out valued is good for the soul.
But also watching mono green win on a mull to 5 is disgusting and definitely shows that nykthos needs to be banned

At 22:00 we get to see the rarely noticable editing. Counting from 1 to 11 clicks in a snap is much appreciated. Sweet deck!
Luminous broodmoth + creature battles makes flying battles lol

One thing id recommend is turning the battles sideways so we can read them at the start
This deck is hilarious because battles are So bad, you can literally blink a dozen of them and the thing that actually wins the game is Kiki+mom
Watching the absolute DECK-worth of triggers was so satisfying!
Reminder that keeping the old Yorion when you get a 2nd one out means that you can target the old Yorion with the new Yorion's trigger which gets you another Yorion trigger at the end of your turn when it returns.
13:01 I second this!
I loved the when Polukranos rotates reference
There's always a new best deck in the format when ever Seth beats a known deck with a brew. Gotta love this guy =)
I have made so many decks about explosive value ETB, especially with Brilliant Restoration. This deck made that part of my heart happy.
Seth I hope that phone number on your hand isn't going to be a concern that others see it. Always love your content

Yeah, I think you are right. I wasn't expecting Invoke, but I think that was probably still the correct play.
Pulled Yorion in a MoM draft and made a deck built around flickering ETB creatures and battles. I went 1 & 3 but I had a LOT of fun with it.
Them getting invoke at 55:02 is why you always ossify the goblin token and not the fable at 53:25
Love your intros lately with Fable. Not sure if it's too strong for Pioneer/Explorer, but I'd shed no tears if it ate a ban there

16:45 Punished by not having an Invasion of Azgol to search for.
Yeah, probably worth it.
You thought it was a dredge deck but it was me! Greasefang!

This deck is just hilarious
In March 1 game 3 you should have kept the old yorion so you could blink it and have it come back and blink the battles again
This deck would use Mind's Desire or Grapeshot or that pay 50 life deal 50 dmg. Also All will be one would fit in here.
In match 2, it really would've helped to have any type of finisher. You kept but doing things, but they didn't really get you towards a win.

just in time
Seth, why do you only have one Yorion in main deck? Wouldn't more than one help, obviously the companion slot supports, but why only run one?!
Seth I you find a spot and add all will be one you could one shot ppl with battles using yorion
38:21 wouldn't it have been better to flash your leyline binding in to get rid of their Enigmatic Incarnation? get rid of the engine before it can start, not just the first target for it?
Needs more bloodtithe harvesters and sheoldreds
50:41 scoop wasn't lethal by blocking 2 copies of bone crusher, potentially could have still won that game depending on your top deck/omen draws.
Block with what yorion was tapped. Open your damn eyes
Weren't the supreme verdicts a good sideboard for game 2 since they deal with the scavengers? Although you do kill your own stuff
The cost of your deck being 666 is the sign of the devil. I would fear for your soul Brother Set if I were you. 😮😮😮😮😮
Gotta make a deal with griselbrand like Liliana did to play this deck, it costs $666 😂
So match 4 game 3, why sac norn to invoke? It is significantly better than yorion in that position
Does this deck want Restoration of Eiganjo? It ramps you into Yorion then provides blink value

this feels like a phil deck. classic case of local man overdosing on value
Dumb question, at 12:57 why not just use the reflection to make a new Yorion and keep the other one in hand just in case?
Reflection can only copy non legendary creatures
Fable can only copy non-legendary creatures so it can't copy Yorion.
