University of Pittsburgh: This Thing We Call Hip-Hop

The Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion celebrated the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop by hosting a panel discussion in collaboration with 1Hood Media, which showcased Hip-Hop artists spanning five decades. Panelists discussed their love for Hip-Hop, how the genre has become a global culture, and the importance of Hip-Hop in relation to Juneteenth and the University of Pittsburgh. In conjunction with the panel, University of Pittsburgh staff and faculty shared stories and insights on what Hip-Hop has meant to their lives and the greater Pittsburgh region.
