I've reclaimed my childhood. I wear a Jedi robe around my house (because it's comfy). I now own about 15 lightsabers and build Star Wars Legos.
My house has looks like zen and D&D had a baby and I love it. :P Dragon at the front door, Not a Mimic on the porch. I see you, Obi Wan.
I really wish they'd made more than 3 movies. Maybe a series or two?
Ah well, I'll just have to re-watch them again, until the VHS tape wears out.

I'm 52, and to my knowledge, the answer is a resounding: nope!
Once I "got with the program", but they changed the channel on me...
But I figured my DIY way is wayyyy more fun so I took my genx prescription of "Fukitol" and said.... "the beatings will continue until morale improves" as I dangle my paddles and rattle the chains for their future bondage.. YES, I also played with the Ouji board alone as a teen -after I saw the movie.... And those spirits are on MY side, not my abusers.
Personally my life has been too busy cleaning up everybody's ELSE'S 💩 in my life to tend to much of my own, good thing I dont make much 💩 of my own.

Now that I'm dealing with my parents who are in their 80s, I realize that they were - and still are - winging it on a hope and a prayer, just like me! We need an X-file show looking for the lost, mythical Grown-up/ Functional Adult.
I remember signing for a loan and thinking "Am I really old enough for this? I never received my certificate of adulthood." 58 years old and still waiting.

To this day I am curious where they thought I was going that would require me to be on a water vessel large enough to require lifeboats and why would singing help in such a situation.

I love you so much. I turned 40 this year, so technically a xennial but I have always felt far more gen x than millennial. I have way more in common with the people 10 years older than me than I do people who are 10 years younger. Lol.

Im 53 this year and despite a 30 year "career" I still keep asking myself what am I going to do with my life. Hell right now I'm planning my fricking retirement and still trying to work out exactly what the f**k I'm supposed to do with all that free time I might get, go outside and play with the other "kids" my age I guess!! Gen-X watched the last ragged coat tails of the American Dream being dragged off, we were told to go grab at it but sometime around 1995 ( in our early twenties ) it tore off and shredded to nothing. So we just got up off the ground, spit on our cuts just like we did when we were kids playing outside, and we just kept right on going as best we could.

This is exactly right. As a 50 year old, I thought there were adults in the room when I was a child. I had Boomer parents and Greatest Generation grandparents. For some reason, I can't identify with my grandmothers at my age looking back at them. I feel decades younger and not the way I envisioned them in my youth. I am sometimes shocked when I'm the adult in the room.

If I ever had my shit together, myself and everyone who knows me, would be shocked. I usually have just enough together, to try to get through the day. At nearly 46 (that's Sunday), I just don't give a shit. My kids and hubby are taken care of, and I try to take care of me, as well as my pets. That's it. Anything else, I just shrug my shoulders, and dive in.

@therealslimsherri i think that is not quite tight, most of us Gen-X had our shit together by about 12, we were working jobs, going to school, watching siblings/neighborhood kids that were under6 or 8. We were left to fend for ourselves by 6 or 8 so we had learned what to do. We knew where to go to make some extra change (stop signs and road sign ateas) picking up bottles to return for 5cent each. Mowing shoveling and bailing the surrounding homes.
We were given saving or checking account before we were teens. I still have the same checking account #s for the same bank that i got at 9 yrs old with my mom as primary. She pulled her name off when i was 12. Needed it for the paper rout and mowing hay bailing jobs as the little old ladies wrote us personal checks for $3 dollars😂😂😂.
At 14 the bank offered a savings account that in 1981 paid 10% interest or CDs that paid more. By 16 we had our Drivers Licenses, 1 of not 2 cars several part time jobs while driving to school.
So i think Gen-X grew up "Having it together " at or by age 9 to 12. All of us pretty much prior to becoming teens.

I can't move for all the stuffed toys (and books and pillows and wadded up blankets lol) on my bed. I have a bag with my posters in it, just waiting until we get our own house so I can put them up. (we rent, currently) Huge box of Lego at the foot of the bed, and my Gundam Wing figurines are in storage cuz no room. You get the picture...
