Today we compare Springbank 25 from 2016/2018/2020/2021. All 46% but with different cask maturation's. We hope you enjoy the video as much as we enjoyed bring it to you!
send us 2 oz and well rank it lol :) Cheers buddy, yeah I'm a bit disapointed I didnt get any, I thought I had 375 coming for about 300, but it was MORE than ok. The person I was slipping with wanted it for a very special occasion and that was more than fine with me.
I've only had the 2016, and own it. It's one of the best 25 year old whiskies I've had!!! I would love to try it against the other years like you guys did
Merry Christmas guy's. Had some amazing drams to celebrate Christmas at 2am this morning when I got off work. Bruichladdich 22, Craigellachie 23, Highland Park 25, Indie HP 30, Glen Keith 28, Benrinnes 23. All but the last two were sample shares from the wonderful Phil and Deepa.
try the Galveston 12 year that is old funky sherry aged in 200 year old amontillado casks in Spanish caves. only a 1000 bottles were produced from 2 puncheons blended together. Great price at $65 and very unique old school tasting sherry whisky
It's too bad that I won't be able to find or afford any of these drams... I make my own Campbeltown whisky by adding one part from my Islay whisky infinity bottle to three parts of my Canadian infinity bottle!
Marry Christmas guys! This comparison was just epic. Managed to get a 2021 release of 25 year old and still can get one more bottle but I have these mixed feelings that one side of me says wait for 22 release and one side of me says it’s so good, get a second bottle. Btw, I wasn’t able to find your review of this year release of Springbank 25
mike for some reason jumped the gun and posted this before the 25 review....what can you do? Anyway merry christmas and we'll eventually post that 25 review...but i guess now it'll be a few weeks.
During the last few years my experience here in Europe has been that retailers gets fewer and fewer bottles for every new release of the 21 and the 25. The demand has explodet. The latest 21, 2021, was sold out everywhere in a sec! So, from that perspective I would buy all the 25s I could!
@@topshelfdustin3060 That’s totally fine. Seeing fill level of 2021 I guessed you either loved it or didn’t like it that much gave it multiple chances.
Super enjoyable whisky. It is sad that it has appreciated so much in the last year and half. You could buy these at US Retail for around USD 550. Now close to USD 1000 and higher.
I've been shocked by how many of these bottles are just collecting dust on people's shelves, many having never even had one. That said channels like malt review couldn't exist without people doing that. So I guess there's some good with the bad.
Very interesting as always. I know you gas these, but wondering on your thoughts about the sometime criticism of SB that they don’t age well once opened. Have you experienced this at all with bottles you have had open for a long time? I clearly need to find so 2018 and 2016… cheers to you both.
Springbank charges a bomb for these yet these are only 46ers. I might never get to drink these, so a question. Don’t these come across as bit thin? Again boys, you know how to play. End of the year, you bring out some heavy hitting stuff. Well done, 🥂 to your content through out the year.
I, too, would prefer a higher abv but these SB25 come off higher in regard to mouth feel and viscosity. The 2021 is probably the best example. Few whiskies hold up at this abv. Talisker 30 and HP25 also come to mind but it’s rare.
If all you drink is CS whisky, these will certainly come off a touch light. But that's honestly unfair to such whiskies. That said springbank doesn't charge THAT much for them. UK retail tends to be under 550 USD, but somehow sending to the US nearly doubles the prices?
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Beautiful line-up.. They all sound fantastic. Great review.
Wow. Excellent review. I only have the 2020 release. Would love to try the 16. Merry Christmas!

The 2016 was something special, that port finish was really wonderful.
You got a great one. One of my favorites.

$550 is a great price point for this whisky. Sad it’s gone up.
great to see you opening springbank 25s

don't gas, never had an issue with that either.

@@topshelfdustin3060 I know, Its the same in Alberta. Springbank has become the "it" distillery so they sell out as fast as they are put on the shelf.
Where is the vintage info on the label? How can you tell one year from another? Do the 21's have a vintage as well?
It's on the tag on the neck. Also all springbanks currently have a laser code with the date of bottling on them.
where is the 2021 Impex Springbank 25 CS ?
friend actually found one of those and asked me about it. But at 950, I'm just not gambling.
Ok, SB 25 2021....worth $900? It actually went to get it nearby at $750 but I was too late.
I bought 2 at 900, so there's my 2 cents. if mike ever puts some videos up....we have a review of that too.
I would pay $900 for most releases. 2016 no doubt
Thanks!
Which one is your best?
2016
Superb review! I just found one in NYC. Now I will check the year of bottling and it is my...🙃
If it’s 2016 I would recommend highly
