Kat's Farm Tour - June 2021 My First Season

After breaking ground this spring and setting up basic (if makeshift!) infrastructure, I wanted to show you around a bit. Its the first week of summer on the farm, and the market displays have been full.
It is so exciting to have a farm of my own and have my business off the ground when this time last year I did not have a business plan or funding.
Last fall I received a local grant for business start up and then this spring, the business got a USDA farm microloan for the remaining financing. But none of this would be possible without a supportive community and a core of people who love fresh, clean salads!

ABOUT: Kat Johnson began learning about organic farming in 2005, as a high school intern on an organic farm in California. Since then, she has worked on ten organic vegetable, urban, and livestock farms in four states and gotten her hands dirty in all aspects of farming operations from hauling water, to management, sales.
