What if that fictional doctor overheard something that hurt his feelings while he was in the middle of surgery? Every one of us hears things that are cruel, hateful, bigoted and directed towards people like us from time to time. I'm a Christian with a huge family. Think I haven't heard some anti-Christian slurs? Think I haven't heard people mock and ridicule me for having a big family? Sheesh, one time a very prissy lady with her beta husband and her perfect little single child in a carefully-ironed dress saw my gang and me in a convenience mart, took offense at the volume of children and the activity we generated (it wasn't that much, I promise) and swatted me! She called the cops and told them I'd kidnapped a child from the place, gave them a description of my van. Flashing blue lights behind me and the whole nine yards. I guess she was fantasizing about a cop cuffing me or perhaps gunning me down in front of my kids. How did I know it was her? I knew, I knew. Haters gonna hate, live with it.
